Great Company! I really liked how they did a comprehensive overview of the house. I have little…read moreto no tolerance for water issues (water damage expense as well as mold issues). Based on my experience, any proactive issues you can take to avoid any water issues is money well spent. I love how they work with you to stay in your budget but help you to track issues you may see in the future. In our situation, we have a gutter issue that showed up when we had the recent monsoon rain. We're going to fix our gutters (clean them out) but will track a second issue (we also have an issue with the volume of our 2nd floor gutter pours onto our garage roof as the 2nd floor and the garage roof gutter handle the same volume of water which means that if we max out the 2nd floor gutter, the garage roof gutter will be overflowing). They also pointed out that they can fix issues with our porch setting (a common issue given that NC builder often throw all their trash under the porch then bury the trash when they finish their construction). There is an easy fix for that issue. Also, they can fix an issue with our cement driveway slab tilting though it is more expensive given the size of the slab. We'll address this later.

So pleasantly surprised. My wife and I live in Raleigh, NC and needed immediate inspection of the…read morefloor, sub-floor and joist system. Residential Contractor assistance in the current Raleigh building boom is suspect, at best so, honestly, I was still suspect. Tar Heel Basement scheduled me, but I'd called back needing next day inspection in attempt to fix a tile issue. No problem, they'd said.. so they sent someone from their other operation to support me. Me! Thank you Tar Heel Basement Systems, for focusing on the customer and building a capable brand. Tar Heel Basement Systems representative met me onsite and we reviewed the area. He not only looked at the area in that part of the house, but advised me on my crawlspace and the other floors in the house. I could not have been more impressed. In the end, the gentleman said, "Sir, you're in good shape here, you have a clean bill-of-health". Perfectly done - Thanks Tar Heel, for your professionalism and swift support. Had this been my own General Contractor, or one of the many subs... well, I have no doubt that I would have instead been quoted a large-sum. Thank you, Tar Heel Basement Systems. Professional. Realistic. Honest. Ethical.

Always willing to take a moment and explain all the steps they were taking to protect our home. The were also very friendly to our kids who were excited for the big hole. Nonetheless, our contact person Madeleine and her crew came out to assess our foundation and cracks and some mold from the humidity in the crawlspace. In the end we went with mold remediation, a sump pump, new vapor barrier, joist lifts, and air sealing to keep out the creepy crawlies. Big ticket expense, but when compared to the competition, we went with them because of the thoroughness with the estimate interview and the willingness to answer all of our questions, they were also well-spoken of on other review sites including a popular large community message board, and the price was pretty comparable. Also, the crew was very good. My only ding would be was not putting the items in the crawlspace back in the order that it was originally, which saved space. But to add to their credit, we have one additional project that needs to be done outside of Little Corner's scope and the new company took a look at Little Corner's work and said "They did a very good job, this is how we would have done it." I think that speaks well of them as a whole. They may not be the biggest company, but they are professional, kind, and diligent about their work. Thank you, Madeleine and crew.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. They screwed me around for weeks on end to get scheduled,…read morewith lies and conflicting stories left and right (all documented) about what went wrong most recently. I had not planned to write a review until they were actually finished, just to be fair about it. Well, the work started yesterday. So far the excavation team has hit the water main, the sewer line, and the gas line. We had to wait for the plumber to come out (and he was great), and then we had to wait for the utilities company to come out (and they were also very quick). My point is, all of this is just another indication of how crappy their administrative work is because nobody bothered to call 811. It's also an indicator of how untrained and unprofessional their crew is, because they should never have started digging without making sure that all the lines had been marked. If you want to get out of a foundation experience with your sanity intact, don't use these people. They truly do not care about your experience as a homeowner and a person investing in the future of your property. I promise you, the hassle is not worth whatever the disappearing salesman/project supervisor promises you. I have not heard a word from him since the company got the deposit. The only other contact information I have is for a woman at the company who just says yes ma'am, and then turns around and does exactly the opposite of what she said she was going to do.

I booked a crawl space encapsulation to address a moisture and mold issue with Regional after…read moregetting estimates from several crawl space vendors. After sharing the competing bids, the salesperson inspected the crawl space and they offered to do the work at the lowest price. After scheduling the project 6 weeks in advance, I was told on the day the work was scheduled to begin that the project would need to be canceled because the clearance wasn't high enough for the encapsulation to be completed due to the ducts under the house. They suggested that I hire an HVAC contractor to remove all the ducts, so they can do a more thorough inspection/evaluation. The project foreman said that the cost would be twice as much due to the extra work that would be involved based on the low clearance. Once I was informed that the project was being canceled, the sales manager told me that my deposit would be refunded. Basically, the salesperson (who is no longer with the company) underbid to win the business, but overpromised what could be done. When presented with a project that had been underestimated from the beginning, Regional canceled the project instead of honoring the original agreement. The salesperson actually crawled through the crawl space before giving me the quote, so this wasn't an issue that emerged during the work either. Within a week of the project being canceled, I was able to get another vendor to complete the work (without needing to remove the ducts) at a slightly higher price than Regional's original quote. They finished the work in one day. Furthermore, I still haven't received the refund of my deposit several weeks later, and can't get the sales manager to return my call. I've called several times to get an estimated time frame for the refund, and I have been informed that the request hasn't even been submitted yet!
