It is one of the best indian restaurants in Essex I have eaten at with efficient and friendly staff. The food is excellent with some interesting new dishes and plenty of traditional curries too. There are also plenty of options for vegetarians. The music is very nice and also the takeaways are cheaper than most restaurants in chelmsford as they give 30% discount on collection. If you're in need of mild go for the korma dishes, the others tend to get progressively spicy. Service is quick and friendly. Unfortunately they don't do deliveries, so you have to pick up in a neighborhood that isn't all that conducive to driving. They do cater for large parties and have a rather large eat in section. This place is an old fashioned 70's style curry house, well worn carpet , dodgy decor and a couple of old indian boys waiting on. Its probably my ideal indian spot - I dont have much love for the new wave of LED lit Indian restaurants or fusion crossover food. The service here is always great, the 2 waiters always recognise us and by chance we have always had the same table. The food is outstanding , so much so I put this place in my top 3 Indians ever ( one of them is actually in India ! ) Both curries were large portions with plenty of chicken , I had ceylon which is very hot with black pepper and coconut , Paul had tikka sizzler with veg curry on the side. Three veg sides , Mushroom , Spinach and dhall , two naans and two rice. We had two pints each and two Irish coffees. The bill was just under £70.00 which I though was very good value. already looking forward to next time.
