We originally chose them due to our proximity to the business, and we've remained even after moving across town because of the phenomenal staff, customer service, and all around experience. This is the only place we'll board our dog. We absolutely love the grooming staff (which says a lot since we have an anxious pup who doesn't love the grooming process). From the moment you walk through the front door or call in, you'll feel like family. Even when months have passed without us using their services, when we return they remember our dog by name and it's like not a day has gone by. We particularly love the photos they'll take of our furry family members at the holidays. We love the photo updates we receive daily during boarding. We love that they don't hesitate to call and check in if they have questions or we've a selected a service we wouldn't normally opt for. Suffice it to say, the staff at Family Paw is at the top of their game. They treat our pets as their own. The service is truly above and beyond, and for that we are not only so appreciative but remain very loyal customers.

I did NOT follow that recommendation. As of today, 9/25/26, my dog has made a FULL recovery. He is stable, alert, and back to normal. If I had followed the vet's recommendation, I would have lost him unnecessarily. It would have been an extraordinary and irreversible loss for my family. This experience raises a serious question for me: if this happened to us, how many other families followed the same recommendation? I am asked the clinic for a full review of his records and a written explanation for why euthanasia was recommended so quickly. I want other pet owners to be aware and to always get a second opinion before making an irreversible decision. LEASE RECONSIDER AND THINK TWICE BEFORE BRINGING YOUR BABIES TO THIS PRACTICE.

My dog started out going here for a few hours at a time to play and then eventually boarded for the week that we were on vacation. All of the sudden after I was out of town... my dog was separated and never on the cameras. Every time I inquired, there was always some reason he was alone in a room somewhere else all day and all night. By the time he was eventually on camera again, he looked incredibly depressed and wouldn't get up. My dog has never acted like that before. My daughter's violin teacher had to go rescue him while she's full term pregnant. He was traumatized for days. He finally now goes back to his other camps where they love him and he's always happy. I can't shake the feeling that something happened to him while he was here.

They do a great job keeping pet parents informed and will reach out if they notice anything out of the ordinary, even something as minor as an upset stomach. I really appreciate knowing that they're paying attention and that my border collie isn't just another dog in the yard. I also want to give a special shout-out to managers Aurora and Stef. They've always been wonderful, helpful, and incredibly caring with my boy over the years. I personally appreciate the care BarxParx takes with assessments and safety. When you're trusting a facility with your dog, you want to know they're being thoughtful about which dogs are in the daycare environment and making everyone's safety a priority. Sensei Gregory is an amazing dog trainer in Las Vegas. My german shepherd Shenzi had some dog…read morereactivity issues bordering on dog aggression. She had all the basic commands down but I didn't trust her enough around other dogs to walk her off leash. She would even lunge at dogs while on leash if they got too close. She even had a bite incident at one point. I was at a loss. I met with Gregory after having consultations with several other dog trainers in Las Vegas and Henderson. But The Doggy Dojo stood out to me because of Gregory's professionalism and his obvious love for dogs. Upon meeting with him, I was comfortable he was the right trainer for my specific situation. I signed up for the Brown Collar aka Threat Dog program. That included on-leash obedience, off-leash obedience, service dog training, and protection dog training (threat level). Since Shenzi already had the on-leash obedience down, we were able to move to off-leash obedience pretty quickly. Only a couple sessions were focused on on-leash obedience training just to tighten up the way i corrected my dog when she displayed reactive or aggressive behaviors or when she didn't listen to a command. Within the first few off-leash sessions, Shenzi was a completely transformed dog. I was able to walk her off-leash everywhere. And she walks by other dogs without barking, lunging, or displaying any reactive or aggressive behavior whatsoever. She stays at the heel position at all times unless i release her, even with distractions. I even had a couple of situations where other dogs were displaying aggression towards my dog and she stayed calm and continued to walk by my side. And after we got through the service dog training, I've been able to take her to the casinos, the airport, on planes, and in stores with no problem. She literally goes everywhere with me. And now, after threat dog training, she confidently displays aggression only on my command or when a threat is imminent. She's the best companion and protector now. Gregory really takes his time with training. All training is done privately. No group training, which i liked because it allows Gregory to spend adequate time training your dog while also teaching you how to appropriately correct your dog. Essentially he trains you how to train your dog. Gregory will take you and your dog to stores, parks, and other places to make sure your dog is adequately trained in all environments. He also offers a board and train program but i wanted to work with my dog myself.

We recently brought our pup Beary to Buddies on a recent trip out to Vegas and I gotta say, we were…read moreso happy with our decision to board him there! Originally, we had a reservation back home with our normal pet resort, but didn't want to be away from Beary for so long; We often have to drop him off a day before our trip and don't pick him up again until the day after we get back, so that's an extra two days without the little guy (and two extra days of boarding to boot). So we looked into the possibility of boarding him close to our hotel while we were in town. A family member sent us a recommendation to go to Buddies and my wife reached out to ask about vacancy for the weekend and the owners got back to us right away to let us know they would be able to take him in and walked her through the process of submitting all the necessary documentation and clearing him to stay. Our little guy is not fixed yet, so unfortunately, he was unable to be group boarded (which is typcial). Check-in was a breeze, and He had a nice large play area to have all to himself and was boarded in a private suite. They also took him out for a walk twice a day while he was there, as well as playtime with the staff constantly. What was really awesome was that they would send us pics of him during his walks, playtime, and before bedtime. It was really awesome to get the periodic updates...which really put us (especially the kids) at ease. And it was really reassuring to know he was close by to us. Staff was super nice and friendly. The consistent updates really made an enormous difference for us. Our usual resort does not do that...so that put them way above. They seemed to genuinely enjoy Beary's company. We would DEFINITELY bring him back here again on future trips (and that is more often than not) and I wish they were located close to home...or that we lived in Vegas so we could bring him more often...wishful thinking =p

She told me that all the staff did was scroll all day on the phones and while watching the webcams noticed that they tried to put her into the water when she didn't want to. For some reason, I was thinking she had gone to the other location but she must have gone to the Henderson one. So because of the great reviews and the way that it looks on the website, I thought that this would be a good location since it's more convenient than my dogs previous daycare since we just moved. The first thing that struck me as odd was this is the only time where I've actually been charged for an evaluation. Every daycare that we've been to, and we've been to about five of them around Las Vegas, gives you either a free day or a free 4 hours. So I was surprised that you have to pay $30 for a 4-Hour evaluation. Because it works both ways. You're evaluating my dog but I'm evaluating you. When I came in, there was just a lobby. I was asked to fill out some paperwork but I wasn't offered a tour or nobody explained anything about services. Honestly I forgot that there was even a pool in there. They said something about putting him in a kennel first to try out for boarding which I thought was a little bit weird. And then go into the play area for the other 2 hours. I did get a text midway through saying that he was keeping to himself but he had passed the temperament test. I thought that was weird because he loves dogs. I went to pick him up about 4 hours later than the first thing I noticed was now that it was 2:00 p.m., the place reeked. Most places have some kind of deodorizer or some type of even overpowering scent so you don't smell that. But it smelled like wet dog and urine. When I picked him up, they didn't say anything about how he had done, again nothing about services, nothing about going forward like nothing that you would expect from a typical daycare after an evaluation. Oftentimes you also get like a little report card in paper given to you. I did think when I picked him up he was a little bit weird like unfocused and strange but I was like OK maybe he played a lot or something and he's just a bit hyped. Again in the car he wasn't really focusing when I was talking to him. When I got him home, he wouldn't let me out of his sight. All he did was whine every time I left a room. Which is really unusual for him to the point that he needed to be crated. That's when I opened my email to look at the report card, which I'll attach a photo, said that he took a quick dive in the pool. I became so upset because he does not swim. He has never been near water, he would avoid any and all bodies of water. His breed does not swim at all. I had noticed that when I picked him up, his leash was wet. Which I thought why the hell would his leash be wet? I'm still confused why it's wet because why would a leash be anywhere near the pool. So I was already upset that they hadn't even asked me about whether he could go in or if he could even swim. And I kind of put two and two together and figure OK he had some kind of really bad experience here that now he's like clinging to me and whining. I also looked at the photos and he's off in a corner somewhere, totally hunched over. This is a dog who loves daycare and loves dogs but he clearly did not like this place. So I sent them back a text and said I don't appreciate that you put my dog in water and he would never do that voluntarily on you so you would have to have led him in. So they gave me this long text about how they would never do XYZ and I just sent them back a screenshot of the report card that said he was in the pool. A couple of things could have happened they just AI generate the report cards with a bunch of fluff or they lied. Either way, he had some kind of traumatizing experience here because he's still clinging to me tonight. This is not normal after daycare behavior for any dog. But now that I'm looking at the reviews I'm seeing similar comments. So here are some actual suggestions. If you just fill your report cards with AI fluff, you did so at your own demise, because any good dog owner would be greatly concerned that during an evaluation you put a dog near water without even talking to the owner about it. This staff clearly does not know about dog behavior, body language, or just common courtesy or sense. Update: 2 weeks later my dog now shakes uncontrollably before going into his old daycare. I don't know wtf they did, but this place needs investigated.
