We had planned to eventually visit Ama's some time, but we ended up there by default on that…read moreparticular day since we found out that the restaurant we had originally planned to visit is closed on Sundays. We were SO very glad it worked out that way!! Everything we had at Ama's was excellent overall. I agree with the other reviews that some of the food lacked a little seasoning (specifically salt) but that is such an EASY FIX and nothing to really complain about in my opinion. It's so much better to add your own salt than to be served food that's too salty. We loved the chunky guacamole with perfectly made pico de gallo, and the combo fajitas with rice and beans. Chips and salsa were okay. The cheese enchiladas with ranchero sauce may have been the best we've ever tried. The sauce was perfectly spicy. I wish I had that those enchiladas right now to be honest! The margaritas were great too. If Ama's wasn't three hours away, we would be visiting very often. Although I'm unable to recall her name right now, our server was great too! We will definitely stop by Ama's again on the next road trip out that way.

The chips were nice and crispy and they were warm and the salsa was tasty. I like that the chips were not over salted. When the server came to take our order, she seemed to be confused by the fact that I could not eat sour cream and other people did not want guacamole. Which resulted in extra side orders of guacamole and a plate of sour cream. I ordered the barbacoa plate and my dining companion ordered the lingua. Unfortunately, the Barbacoa was not very good. It seemed a bit dry and did not have much flavor. Lingua was actually pretty tasty. It's a family place, I saw several families dining. Overall, I believe in second chances maybe if I ordered something different on the menu I would have had better experience.

Lindsay waited on us and was delightful. We ordered Coronas, Alligator Bites to start! Spicy and delicious. The special bread with dipping oil was to die for. The Reuben Sandwich was perfect! The Cobb salad with grilled chicken was spectacular. And as others have said before, the Chicken Fried Steak was the best we ever had in our life. Huge portions all around! Plenty of leftovers for today's meals. The owner was as sweet as honey. And her son, the chef, is very talented and nice as could be. Perfect way to celebrate our 37th year anniversary! My gosh, I just can't say enough great things about the ambience, service, and food!

The food was SO GOOD. The bread and seasoned oil they give you when seated was amazing, my husband had the most flavorful seasoned fish and chips, I had the chicken tenders and fries that were amazing. We got cookies to go and I highly recommend you not skip out on them. The best cookies I've had in a very long time (pecan chocolate chip). We look forward to returning soon to try different items as the menu had so many great choices.

I first want to start off saying how sweet, friendly and accommodating the staff including Becky are. They even went as far as to custom blend chocolate milk for my choc loving snob of a 6 year old I have and giving him a quarter for the gym ball machine. When you walk in, go straight to the counter to place your food and drink order. The menu has good options for the whole family! The staff let us sample the aquas frescas and the new horchata they just added to their menu. They were all really good! We went with the hibiscus and pineapple. They also have jarriscos, Coca-Cola products and other fruit juices. After you order at the counter, you are met at your table with delicious chips and salsa. I mean I could drink this stuff! I was so thankful for the extra cups they sent me home with. Our food arrived quickly and hot, fresh and very tasty. We had an assortment of tacos from the ground beef and potatoes (picadillo), Carne Guisado and More! The tortillas y'all! Hot and fluffy! My while family could eat them forever! (Pics posted) Give this place a try next time your in the area and craving a fast, fresh and friendly breakfast, brunch, lunch. They are open until 2!

Update: came in for a 2nd time to give the benefit of the doubt from 1st experience...horrible…read moreservice. Unorganized and food just sucks. Done.. never coming back. Bathrooms are disgusting and smells like sewer. No soap or paper towels in bathroom... I will be lucky if I don't contract some type of food poisoning... people look dirty and stick their hands and fingers on the plate as the getting ready to serve. Just nasty. This breakfast was pretty good. The service was a little odd. Brought one plate out at a time not the whole breakfast for both my buddy and I at the same time. Coffee didn't taste too fresh. Inside is ok, but the bathroom smelled like raw sewer. Service was mediocre at best. Food: ordered the sauce omelette... nothing too special and and order of tacos without the tortilla
