Hill Country Rainwater - Putting this tank a few hundred feet from the house keeps it out of view of the home owner and the neighbors! (HOA's love that!)

We received a timely estimate and were easily able to initiate changes to our original project scope and budget numbers. The installation had some delays due to Covid, supply line issues, and weather, but Shannon, their Project Manager, stayed in touch with us, on top of the process, and completed the system install to our satisfaction. The overall result - including system functionality, water quality, and install follow-up - exceeded our expectations. Thanks Hill Country Rainwater!

The day after the post below, the owner and his crew came out and spent the entire day working on our job. The following day, we were notified that a family emergency within the company would prevent them from working until the following Monday. However, since that Monday, they have worked everyday to finish the bulk of the installation. The remaining work is gutter installation, painting and miscellaneous clean up. The 4-stars instead of 5 is due to the initial multiple delays. I think their most significant opportunity for improvement would be communication to the client. It should not be the responsibility of the client to text the company daily asking why no one has shown up, and shouldn't require an unsatisfactory post on the internet to trigger the company to work the job. Overall, we have been happy with the employees. They have been responsive, respectful, and courteous, and we are happy with the service that has occurred since my first post below. We will recommend Hill Country Rain Water to anyone who asks. 5 Sept 2023 Not happy with Hill Country Rainwater. They had our $15,000 for the tank materials for 4 months before even starting the tank. First there was the excuse of rain causing their work to back up, then the excuse that they couldn't keep employees. After MULTIPLE notifications over weeks that they would start this day or that, they finally came to start the tank in July and finished the tank in about 3 days. Then we were billed and paid another $13,000+. We were told trenching would start Aug 28. They didn't start trenching until last week. They worked about 5 hours ONE DAY and then were instructed to take the trenching equipment to another job. One worker dug up several holes by hand, tried to dig another one in solid rock with a shovel and gave up after a few minutes. Our front flower bed was left dug up. They didn't work Labor Day, which is understandable (although our siding company, Libertas worked July 4th). HCR showed up today (9/5) and took the rest of their equipment. The person who seemed to be in charge didn't know why management directed them to another job site instead of working on our job. We are tired of this crappy service. Our job is clearly not a priority of this company. I feel certain it will rain again before these guys are finished with the job. They have to finish a lot of trenching and laying of pipe and still have to gutter the house. I am now worried about the quality of this work, given how unimportant our job seems to them. IF YOU WANT A RAIN WATER COLLECTION SYSTEM INSTALLED INSIDE OF A YEAR OR TWO, DO NOT CHOOSE THESE GUYS.

We had numerous issues with Trey and his communication, in addition to having to call and leave multiple messages before getting someone on the line to come service our unit and then NOT show up to TWO different appointments we had set. But the real issue people need to be aware of is most recently on a service call, their people left a tube out of the PVC pipe leading to the drain field, open in our garage. Just discovered that not only had that pipe been flooding our garage when the system recycles, but it ruined our fridge and a box of tools with hundreds of dollars of equipment in it. When I reached out to Trey, he denied any responsibility and said that his people would never do something like that (even though they did and we had the same issue during the building process). Unprofessional and completely incompetent, then no accountability when they make a mistake and now we are left with thousands of dollars of damage.

We were completely grossed out and horrified of course. Living in the country and having a well has its drawbacks. Drinking dead CSI mouse water is one of them. Hanta Virus martini anyone?? I called Water Technology on Monday morning. They were out the same day, within hours disinfecting my water softener tank and doing a bacteria test and doing their best to convince me that no one would die. Unfortunately, the bacteria test came out positive the next day, so they came out and installed an infrared device to ensure our future safety. They also changed all my filters and scoped out the backyard for a rainwater collection system. The charges seemed reasonable and everyone there is SUPER nice. I think we are going to do rainwater pretty soon and I'm excited by that. These people are my heroes this week. 'Cause I won't die anytime soon of the many diseases that come from rotting dead animal flesh in my water.

This review of Lakota Water Company is long overdue. Recent events at our home made that fact…read morequite clear. In 2010, we were shopping the idea of having a rainwater collection and supply system installed. Like many living in our area, our well Water was terrible. Alan's proposal, ideas and thorough explanations literally blew the others out of contention. Then the installation process got underway, and they were incredibly attentive. Example: carefully hand-digging in the areas our well-supplied irrigation system was in the ground around our home, guest house and detached garage. The finished installation was a marvel. All fittings meticulous and valves clearly labeled. AND THE WATER -- soft and delicious. Through the years since installation, I've often done the routine maintenance required on the system (filters, etc.). Alan provided clear, concise instructions for every step of the way, and even demonstrated the process the first time. But occasionally I've asked Lakota to do the maintenance -- they have been flawless in this area, as well. But now the reason for the post -- recently I've noticed our tank not "filling" like it should after a rainfall. I suspected a leak and found the problem a few nights ago. A fence T post driven through the main water line to fill the tank. I took a picture and sent it to Alan. The next morning, he dispatched a crew of two to fix our problem. Clay and Richard were excellent. They repaired the problem quickly. They were extremely polite and skilled at their work -- just superb ambassadors for Alan and Lakota Water Company. And now this wonderful rain is going into our tank and not out on the ground. Thank you Lakota Water Company. I can only give them a "5 Star"rating -- I believe they are a 10!
