The perfect venue for my mother's celebration of life. The staff were so helpful and went out of their way go help whenever they could.

Ok this place is super cool. I can't believe I only found out about this venue recently!…read more To get to the theater, you go around the corner from the bar entrance and through this back alleyway door. It feels very covert, like you need to know a guy who knows a guy with a password to get in. You can also enter through the bar (I think). We initially went through the side door to get our tickets scanned in and then went in and out of the bar between acts to grab a drink. We weren't able to bring drinks into the actual theater, but not a huge deal. If anything, keeps the venue cleaner. There aren't any seats, just tiered standing platforms. Honestly, even with it being packed, I felt like we had a pretty good view of ~80% of the stage. The one thing I will say is that with everyone standing, you would think there'd be more movement/dancing. But alas, this is still Seattle and most people were bopping their heads to the music while I just wanted to swing around and feel it in my soul.

There is available street parking however it can be tricky and limited due to the narrow streets. The theater shares an entrance with a jazz bar which provides a comfortable seating area to enjoy a drink while waiting for a show. We came to see the Rocky Horror Burlesque Pastie Show and was impressed at the capacity of this small theater. Beyond the hallway, patrons are immediately welcomed to second bar and a sea of padded chairs. The theater was packed with Rocky Horror Picture fans with some proudly wearing costumes of their favorite characters. The show started a little later than advertised however we were kept entertained during the slight delay. The seats were comfortable and we had an unobstructed view of the stage. This was our first time seeing a Rocky Horror Show in burlesque and we didn't know what to expect. Audience participation was encouraged and specific names (which I will not repeat) were yelled out when either Brad or Janet took the stage. Overall, a wonderful group adventure night full of sing-a-longs, heckling, and cocktails. Drink prices and show tickets were cheap compared to other venues.

Based on a poster I had seen last week on Capitol Hill, on a whim I bought a ticket to see Seattle Experimental Theater's improv/satire production of "Where No Man Has Gone Before". This was based on the original Star Trek series. Theatre Off Jackson, located at the corner of 7th and Jackson, was the venue hosting this limited run. Check in was straightforward with general admission seating. Also, there was a concessions/bar counter serving snacks, beer, and cocktails like red shirt, blue shirt, and yellow shirt that Star Trek fans might enjoy. Back in 1994 I had attended Star Drek from AHa Theatre (no relation to that Scandinavian band). I wondered how this would compare. This venue is smallish, but adequate seats and wide aisles. Lighting and acoustics were decent for the minimalistic stage props. For this evening's performance incorporated 'too much cleaning' and 'going to the fair' randomly contributed from the audience. Lots of laughter and a great diversion! The theatrical group pulled it off with these non sequiteurs. Afterwards not having eaten since lunch, darn the street fest was closed, but plenty of places to get takeout at 930pm in the ID!

As parents to three little children we are always seeking family friendly activities to participate…read morein together Kringle's Inventionasium immediately peaked my interest as soon as I saw the ad on Facebook. Being that 2024 is the first year Kringle's Inventionasium experience is being hosted in Seattle, the only reviews I had to go off of were the ones for the Cleveland, OH location. I admittedly grew hesitant to purchase passes, because the previous reviews said the experience is more geared towards children ranging from 5-10; I found this to be NOT true for the Seattle location (for reference our children are 5, 3, and a walking 10 month old.) From start to finish, my entire family enjoyed the entire experience. The customer service and communication from the Kringle's team was spectacular! All of my children were extremely intrigued, participated throughout the entire session, and I greatly appreciate how personalized the experience was making it even more magical. They even included playtime on the floor (thank you!) Helpful tips: Be sure to check for the primary website, and add the promotional code available for Deluxe passes. Before arrival be sure to complete the questionnaire to ensure your experience is personalized and filled with surprises that are magical for the little ones. Parking: There are multiple private parking lots in walking distance to the venue. Do be mindful of the day you purchase passes if it is a game day, prices for parking will be higher than normal (as in $100 higher.) Depending on which pass you select, if it's not included in your pass DO purchase the make a puppet kit (it's what gets you involved in the experience.) I purchased an extra kit so my husband could participate in real time with our 3 and 5 year old.) Another optional add on is access to the LIT holiday lounge, was such a nice perk my family enjoyed as they got to make hot chocolate, apple cider, enjoy sweet treats, color, and take pictures by the decorations. I'm so happy this event has expanded to Seattle we are looking forward to attending next year, and I highly recommend!!
