I brought it in later that day and while he would be able to repair it, it was going to cost upwards of $200. It was probably 7 years old and had not been properly maintained. I decided I was ahead to purchase the entry level Miele Vacuum that he promised was manufactured better than the model I own. I bought a few boxes of bags and a natural order eliminator and ended up spending around $400. That may sound like a lot, especially since I was not planning on purchasing a new vacuum, but overall I've been really happy with my purchase. It is a gorgeous burgundy color and is making a big difference in the cleanliness of my home. I have two dogs, and one of them sheds quite a bit and having a good vacuum makes our house much cleaner. The man who helped me is one of the owners and was incredible knowledgeable about the products. He answered lots of my questions and it did not feel like I was being pushed into anything. It's great to know they are nearby if I have any problems.
