I purchased a Sub-Zero Pro line refrigerator and freezer from UAKC. The overall experience was…read moreincredible. I highly recommend the experience from product information to purchase to installation. Product Info and Discovery: I was surprised to learn that not all Sub-Zero retailers are the same. Given that we already had a Sub-Zero and were replacing it after more than 30 years of usage, we started our process at the Sub-Zero showroom in Costa Mesa. This location was purely informational, as they don't sell at that location, but we were able to see and compare every unit. We visited a Ferguson Home but was disappointed at not being able to see the unit we were looking to purchase and because the salesperson was not fully aware of all the features of the model. We ultimately purchased from UAKC because the units were were interested were not just side by side, but powered on to the same level of coldness that you would have in your home. That was huge for us as it helped us understand how cold our drinks would be and how cold our foods would be chilled in each compartment. Purchase: I worked with MD Rayhan on the purchase process. MD was helpful in providing "crowd sourced" feedback from his other customers to help me choose between the Pro and Classic models. Specifically, I wanted to understand if the Pro freezer was going to be too small (it runs about 50% smaller than my prior Classic freezer) or if it was simply moving along with the consumer trend toward more fresh foods. Given that Sub-Zero pricing is fixed regardless of retailer, MD helped me find manufacture rebates that I qualified for and was market competitive on installation costs. Lastly, MD helped find inventory and schedule my delivery so that I could get the new unit installed as soon as possible. Installation: UAKC sent a four person team of certified installers led by Juan and Alex. The certified expertise was helpful because it got us a longer 3 year warranty, but the expertise around the equipment was also invaluable. From unboxing the unit on our driveway to carrying the 650 pound unit up a few stairs, removing a door and leaning the unit through our doorway, everything was done professionally, cleanly and with no scratches to home or refrigerator. They even polished the unit and removed all the plastic film covering the stainless steel panels so that the refrigerator was ready to be used. The entire process took about two hours. Couldn't ask for more.

I can only share my own mind-boggling, agonizing experience and how I avoided another nightmare…read morewith Universal Appliances in pop Studio City. A number of years ago, I was naive and trusting and listened and trusted the sales pitch at Universal Appliances and purchased 3 high-end items. As the sale was closing, I was encouraged to buy their "wonderful" warranty package. They explained how they stand behind everything they sell and will promptly fix an item under this warranty protection. Not knowing, as I do today, about how they would treat me after the refrigerator I purchased turned out to be a lemon, I agreed to pay the extra amount for each new item's warranty. Unfortunately, my personal nightmare with this company took hour after hour and week after week of my time with calls and messages and letters and being just "left" on hold. I was ignored and avoided and was told "there's nothing we can do. The problem is yours." I couldn't believe what I was experiencing and called their corporate office, they repeated the store manager's comments. Basically, they refused to do what I would have thought to be the "right" thing after spending over $4000 for the refrigerator alone, not to mention the large stove with double oven and dishwasher. And added all the warranties! We paid in full at the time of purchase and they treated me like dirt after they had our money. They washed their hands of a situation that I would think they could have done something to keep their customer happy ( and maintain their reputation) but instead, it appears they actually "flagged" my account. When I recently went there to check models and prices, that's what I was told. They wouldn't sell to me. Was it because I didn't give up and hoped that there was something they'd be willing to do? They were so incredibly rude to me, it took about 9 years for me to even just look at an item. I just was interested in seeing it in a store's in person. Not a big deal. The salesperson followed me and asked questions. I shared what was looking for. But...a day later they informed me that they wouldn't sell to me. How totally insane. They didn't know if they were losing another major sale, but what they did do is motivate me to share my absolutely awful experience. with what I judge as a deeply disturbed management and company. In a world where businesses are closing like crazy, why throw away a potential customer who didn't do anything more than purchase a bad product from your company and then you threw me to the curb. And they had to know about the class action suit and never informed me. Samsung agreed to pay the cost of the entire refrigeration... but it took over 2 years of struggle. Good grief. There are so many other stores to see all kinds of brands and find competitive prices.... A week ago I asked chat GBT about product, ratings and where to buy. It gave me several places. Not one was Universal. It recommended stores all around the area. My only guess is that my experience isn't isolated because the other places were rated highly on Customer Service. Clearly Universal Appliances displayed a 100% lack of that, once they were paid. Good news, as it turned out the price I got was significantly lower than their "competitive pricing" and, after checking with Costco and then Best Buy matched it with no additional add-on for delivery, parts or haul away of the old item, plus we opened a new credit card and saved another $200. I would call them Universally BAD!

When I called, the gentleman on the phone told me he could give me a solid estimate if I brought in the vacuum. I brought it in later that day and while he would be able to repair it, it was going to cost upwards of $200. It was probably 7 years old and had not been properly maintained. I decided I was ahead to purchase the entry level Miele Vacuum that he promised was manufactured better than the model I own. I bought a few boxes of bags and a natural order eliminator and ended up spending around $400. That may sound like a lot, especially since I was not planning on purchasing a new vacuum, but overall I've been really happy with my purchase. It is a gorgeous burgundy color and is making a big difference in the cleanliness of my home. I have two dogs, and one of them sheds quite a bit and having a good vacuum makes our house much cleaner. The man who helped me is one of the owners and was incredible knowledgeable about the products. He answered lots of my questions and it did not feel like I was being pushed into anything.
