After…read morebeing disappointed with four groomers and giving them second chances with little change, I kept searching, reading reviews, and checking social media without success. However, one day, I passed a yard sign for PUPS & PURRS, pulled over, and spoke to the owner, Wendy, who invited me to bring my pups without an appointment and answered my questions. I was instantly impressed; she wasn't trying to sell herself, and I thought, 'This may be the one.' My intuition was correct after making an appointment. I stayed in a designated prep room for pet parents, with divided sections; each had see-through windows where they were groomed. The second room was for puppies to play while waiting to be groomed, and another gated area for pets needing solitude before or after grooming. Wendy, the groomer, charged less than previous groomers at a teaching vet hospital and others working at well-known pet stores in DE. I brought my dog, Chanel, to this facility for a grooming appointment, and unfortunately, she was…read moreinjured during the process -- the groomer cut her paw pad. I understand that accidents can happen, but what was most upsetting was how poorly the situation was handled. After taking her to the vet , I reached out to the facility expecting concern, accountability, and a sincere apology. Instead, I was met with a dismissive response from the owners. I had asked them to cover the cost of the vet visit, which I believe should have been offered immediately given the circumstances. Even more disappointing, I never received an apology until I pointed out that no one had offered one and that I was extremely disappointed with how things were being handled. Only then did they offer a brief apology -- but by that point, it felt insincere and forced. There was no follow-up to check on Chanel's condition, no ownership of the incident, and no effort to make the situation right beyond the bare minimum. After 3 vet visits, Chanel is thankfully healing, but this experience left me feeling upset and disregarded as a client. I'm sharing this so other pet parents can make informed decisions. Our pets deserve to be treated with genuine care, and we as clients deserve to be treated with respect and compassion -- especially when something goes wrong. I thought I was a valued and appreciated Customer. This experience completely showed me I was not.

It makes booking boarding times a breeze and is an easy way to communicate with them if need be. Casey has been at the front desk when I dropped off and picked up my dog. He always confirms her feeding instructions when I'm dropping off and let's me know how how her stay was when picking up. My dog is always happy, healthy and in good spirits when I pick her up! They run specials for new customers and throughout the month if you sign up for their enewsletters. The staff is always super friendly and seem to know most of the dogs by name. The best part about Camp Bow Wow, though, is the Camper Cams where you can watch your dog throughout the day. I can pull it up on either my computer or my cell phone, the pages refresh very quickly, and the quality is pretty darn good. Every time I've pulled up the camera to check on my dog, there he is, prancing about. It does feel a little 'Big Brother'-ish but hey, if I'm going to pay $25+ to take my dog to daycare, it's very reassuring to see that he's getting the exercise and the attention he needs. They admit the puppy was irritating my dog but blamed my dog when he responded claiming it was "unprovoked". They could see it on their cameras. We are done. They said he could come back for day camp but not board. No thank you. We don't need a babysitter just a safe place when we want to take a vacation. They didn't even care when we voiced our concerns. They have advertised that not all dogs are up to date on vaccines but apparently they still take them.
