I have been going here since moving to Sonoma last March, and for the past year have been quite pleased with my service here. The owner is super nice and I often get in with a walk-in. The pedi chairs are wonderful, and the color offerings are great - so are the prices! Recently, I've had the same male nail technician each time for my nails and toes, and my experience has worsened significantly. He is on his phone for a lot of the time and often looks over and replies using the same gloves to respond to his texts as he uses on my feet/hands, which is not sanitary. Today, I was receiving my foot massage which comes with a hot stone massage (heavenly), and he kept getting distracted with his text and while one-handed massaging me (he had to text with one of them, naturally), he kept stopping his hand absentmindedly mid-massage as if forgetting he was doing it. It felt really quick and only the far leg (away from the phone) was a full massage. He also has made polishing errors each time and after I corrected him the first time with a gel mani he did not correct the errors and I had to go in 2 days later to have him fix them as the polish kept popping off. Today, my big toe polish ended up with bubbles and when I addressed it he just added the top coat as if that would fix it. Fingers crossed they last! He needs to be retrained on professionalism and technique, and hopefully the quality will improve. read more

I felt like they couldn't wait to get rid of me. I got a paraffin wax mani/ pedi and it seemed like they had never done one before. The wax was way too hot at their first attempt and didn't seem to know what to do or how long to let it cool before trying again. The hand/ foot massage was lame and included slapping my skin. The whole massage was about 30 seconds. And during the manicure, instead of walking around the chair from one hand to the other, they made me cross my arm over my chest and turned off the massage chair because that was inconveniencing THEM. Definitely unprofessional and unwelcoming. The best part was their polish selection. read more

I am giving this place two stars is because of many reasons. I made my appointment at 9:30am a couple of days ago. Here goes the list: 1. They opened at 9:40am (they commute from Vallejo but that's no excuse to open late. Take your time and wake up early!) 2. The lady that was doing my acrylic gel full set was also the one greeting at the door and answering calls but guess what? SHE COULDN'T MULTITASK! She started at about 9:45am but between distractions and greeting she ended up finishing up at 11am! 3. I had a cute EASY 3 color design I wanted and because of how bad she was lagging, I ended up telling her to just do 1 color (red glitter for holidays) What else was I supposed to do? Outcome: Nails weren't that great (see picture) 4. I was astonished at how unorganized this place was because during the time I was there, I think about 4 to 5 people ended up leaving angry/upset because they had made their appointment but of course had to wait 30+ minutes! 5. Lack of customer service and professionalism! It's a new place in town and the employees should put in ALL of their efforts to make it a great experience for us Sonomans! This place is very unhygienic and doesn't listen to what the customer is asking for. I came in with a large group of girls for mani/pedi's. A guy started with my pedicure with no gloves (everyone else was wearing gloves while doing pedicures for their client). He dug in so much doing the cuticle cutting that almost all my toes were cut up and stung like a mother when I put them in the water bath. I asked him very clearly not to cut my cuticles on my other foot and had to ask another time when I saw him reaching for the tool again. I got a gel manicure from a different lady in the shop. I asked her from the beginning not to cut my cuticles, only push them back. She asked if she could clip my hangnails and I said okay but only that. She went to town with the cuticle cutter and I asked her several times to stop doing that. I ended up with a cut on my nail that was so far up past my nail bed it was just careless. The tools looked like they hadn't been cleaned and reused the same containers for the tools over and over without washing. It seems like they just do whatever they want/are in the habit of doing with every client regardless of what you ask of them. My friend got dip nails and the process was, again, very unhygienic. They used a communal dip pot - the dip color should be poured out into a separate container for each client. read more

I came for a pedicure and they did a great job. I walked right in, was seated, and someone started right away. The staff was kind and the atmosphere was relaxing. I chose the $40 pedicure which has too much to list so I added the menu to the pictures. I look forward to coming back. read more

They do great work, that is the priority, but I knocked off a star for the cleanliness of the place. Nail dust and acrylic nails on the floor... Like out in the open in the middle of the floor. A simple sweep-up after each client would probably make a huge difference. read more

I tried this place when they first opened and wasn't very impressed but figured they were new and new businesses need some time to work out kinks. Fast forward to recently, I decided to go back and give them another try when we were in a pinch to get pedicures. No one else in town had time that Saturday but then, maybe that should've been our first hint....my pedicure looked fine and the man did a decent job during my service, until a week later I had THREE infected toes and a severely ingrown toenail. It has taken WEEKS for it all to heal. I wouldn't recommend going here until they learn proper safety & sanitation practices. read more

This was my second time to Rainbow. Super conveniently located for the springs community. I thought it was very clean. The staff is nice and tries to engage. The first time I went, I do admit the manicurist was pretty rough. I don't have cuticles so she was really trying to cut stuff off that didn't need it. She hurt one of my toes. I let her know and she became less aggressive. My fingers and toes looked great. Second time in I saw Kathy. She's very gentile! I'll be requesting her from now on. I have natural Nails and only get gel polish. I don't even go for the manicure. She filed and painted. I had one little ragged edge of paint, but from a top view you can't see it. I appreciate their prices. They have chrome and cat eye gel and powder dip which I haven't tried, but am super interested in for next time. Tons of colors of all brands! They can accommodate walk ins better than other nail salons in town. I'll probably make this my go to from now on read more

Stumbled across this place when looking for a mani/pedi on a Sunday. Happy surprise to find a brand new nail salon. Location is in Fiesta Plaza. Everything was brand new and clean and the massage chair was excellent. They had 8 massage pedicure chairs so looks like a good place for a big group. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. I upgraded my pedicure to an exfoliation treatment which was excellent as was the hot stone massage. Added bonus is they have a 30% all services promotion this month as part of grand opening (December 2017). Only negative is weird bright blue paint color but I can overlook that! read more

I don't like leaving negative reviews but I will only because my cuticles hurt. Came in here on a recommendation. Seated immediately, guy doing my manicure, girl doing my pedicure. Manicure was fine, pedicure.....ugh. Massaged only my legs, nothing on my actual feet. 5 of my toe cuticles are inflamed from being cut, a couple bled. They hurt with shoes on. And to make things worse, I paid $55 plus a $15 tip. I just hope I don't get an infection from this. I marked the cuticles with black lines in the photo so you can see the redness. I can't go back for this torture. It's a new place so maybe they'll hire more experienced pedicurists. read more

Finally, a nail salon in Sonoma that is above par -- it took me awhile to get here. First of all, the lovely men and women who provide services don't talk to each other while they are working, which I have always thought was somewhat distracting and rude. It is a professional salon. Their pedicure massage seats are exceptionally comfortable and up to date, so that helps to make your experience more appetizing. I would suggest, however, that they provide warm/hot shoulder warmers as many great salons do in the Bay Area -- now, that would make them above and beyond any other salon here in Sonoma. read more

WTF! On so many levels! I went there to get my nails done on my birthday because they are the only ones I know of who do the cat eye gel nails. After one day, my index finger polish slipped off. On the third day, another whole top layer of polish came off. Another one came off within the first week. Then they all started peeling at the cuticle except one thumb. Then I started getting a crater of all the layers of polishes on my middle finger. The cat eye design looks like a blob instead of a line. I joked with my mom that it looks like the galaxy. I might as well have gotten sparkle polish. By the way, the guy painting my nails was not listening to anything that I was requesting about my nail shape. I asked several times that I didn't want corners on my nail tips, but I eventually gave up. So I go back in today to describe all these unforeseen issues, and the lady was unexpectedly rude to me. She said it was already time for me to come in for a new nail job, but it has been less then two weeks. Gell has always lasted 4 weeks or longer. It looks like my nails have been through a blender. Customer service left me frustrated and disregarded There was no customer service--not even an offer for compensation in any way. She didn't even offer to take off the hideous remains of polish that are still left on my sad nails. I will never go Rainbow Nail Spa again! read more

I am a regular with Andy for gel acrylics and he always does a great job. They do charge 5$ extra for coffin just to note. My only complaint is every time I make an appointment and I get there on time I usually end up waiting about 20 minutes. It's usually no big deal but yesterday I made an appointment for three people including myself at 12:30 and our nails were not started until 1:30. We didn't complain but this is not the first time this has happened to me. They seem to accommodate walk-ins more than appointments. I will be back but just make sure you don't have a strict time frame when going. read more
