I get massages rather frequently and have a regular place that I was going to in Chino. I wanted someplace closer to my home, though. I had been to Rainbow Massage about 5 years ago when I moved to Diamond Bar from LA and was not impressed. A few days ago, I was crunched for time and went again, not realizing I had already been. At first, I remembered why I hadn't gone back: 1) The woman at the front desk asked me how I was paying when I chose my service and 2) A couple of the women had a loud conversation and laughed as they were restocking supplies in my room while I was getting my foot massage. Not the Zen environment I was hoping for. Then KC got to work, and suddenly those things were no longer as irritating. She found knots, kinks, and muscle soreness that needed some attention right away! In fact, she is the only reason they got 4 stars from me! Started with my foot massage and then moved on to my 40-minute body massage, and my world instantly got better. Will definitely be back and want a longer service because I typically have a 90-minute session when I get a massage. My range of motion instantly improved, and a lot of my muscle soreness went away before I was able to get dressed. Will definitely be back! read more

This is the second time I've gotten a massage. The first time was at Massage Heights in the Chino Hills Shoppes (1 hour). I went with my friend and we paid $60 in total for 30 minutes each. We selected #7(?) on the menu behind the counter (back massage). I do not recall the name of my masseuse but she did a great job. In the beginning, she did ask me multiple times if I was okay. I had a sensitive part of my body that I did not want her to put pressure on and she was very understanding about it and avoided that area. All in all, the pressure of the massage was wonderful. I did feel some pain but that was because she was trying to rub out all the kinks and knots! However, I do have a few reasons why my rating is 3/4 stars and not 5 stars. There was an obvious language barrier which made it difficult to communicate with the masseuses'. I completely understand this and the reason why this was slightly an issue is because went we into our rooms, they didn't explain the process such as what items of clothing should/should not be removed. This can be an issue for those who have never gotten a massage before (like my partner). Overall, I completely understand language barriers exist and I am A-OKAY with that! (: After debriefing with my friend, we realized that although we paid for the same thing, our experiences were very different. For instance, his masseuse asked him if he wanted oil but I was not asked. She did use oil on me but I would have preferred that she asked (some might have allergies or sensitive skin and such should be taken into consideration). My masseuse used hot rocks on me but did not use hot rocks on him. Speaking of hot rocks, she did not give me a heads up nor did I expect hot rocks to be used. It did made me flinch because the rocks were HOT and I have never had hot rocks used on me before! It felt GREAT but I was just not prepared for the heat. A little heads up would have been nice. Lastly, once my friend and I were leaving his masseuse asked him for a tip (we thought she was telling us we forgot something in the room but she said "Do you have something for me?") Now my partner was 100% okay with tipping her (the massage felt so good it just slipped his mind and he was not purposely not trying to tip her intentional)! I just found it a little odd that she asked for a tip but it is what it is?!? read more

I've been coming here for a massage for a few years now because the massages are deep tissue with strong pressure, just how I like it. The prices are reasonable and it is conveniently located. I don't expect it to be a spa-like atmosphere, but they have no concept of whispering so as not to disturb the clients! I went for a massage yesterday and the entire time the ladies who worked there were talking to each other loudly, in fact one lady seemed angry and was yelling!! They have no receptionist, so every time someone walks in, all the staff are shouting! It's an event every single time! The owner is a great masseuse, but she stops massaging to answer the phone or has to step out to help a walk in customer! I put my AirPods on so I could mute out all the noise...it didn't help! I wish I could communicate these issues with the owner, but she doesn't speak English! So if you're looking for a good massage at a reasonable price and don't mind the interruptions or background noise, then I would recommend this place. I would never bring a friend here. I usually come by myself when I just need a massage and don't care about getting good service. Every single time I've come to get a foot or body massage, the woman who is massaging me leaves the room at least 9 times (9!!!!) to go answer the phone, talk to a client who just entered, talk loudly to the one other masseuse, etc. There is no receptionist at the front so literally every time the phone rings or the door opens, she leaves and she does NOT make up the time. I've come in the mornings, late afternoons, evenings and the same thing happens regardless of when I come in. When she is actually in the room, she massages with firm, even pressure and knows what she's doing, which is the only reason I come back in desperate times. Read: desperate. Because of above reasons, I would give 3 stars. But docking one additional star because of tip. I really do NOT appreciate when I tip $8 (20%) on a $40 massage (that is supposed to be 60 minutes but is really like 45 minutes), she doesn't say thank you or receive it graciously. Just had a horrible experience here today. I called in for a deep tissue walking massage. The lady on the phone, the boss I assume, says okay and I book an appointment at 8 PM. When I walk in, I tell the lady I called in for a walking massage. She says no problem and walks me to the room. But after I lay down she doesn't give me a deep tissue massage, but a soft swedish massage WITH NO WALKING. I ask her if she is going to walk on me and she flatly tells me no. I am livid at this point, because I didn't want a soft massage that she gave me, so I basically wasted $70 and an hour of my time. When I walk out of the room, I try to figure out what happened, I asked for a walking massage and was told "no problem." All of a sudden the boss lady walks out and basically tries to laugh off the situation, asking if I wanted her to walk on me for 5 minutes. After wasting my time for an hour?! I really didn't even want to pay for the massage because I was completely scammed with a bait and switch. She should have offered to do 15 or 30 minutes of walking for the inconvenience. It wouldn't even be worth undressing for 5 minutes of walking, I was so insulted by it all I just got quiet, paid as fast as I could and got out of there. Always loved this place. 90% of the time the massage was great. Customer service was also on point. That changed a few weeks ago. My fiance and I wanted a massage so I called about 12pm for a 630pm massage. They said they could accommodate us both. When we got there, 2 ladies were talking loudly at us telling us we made no appointment and someone else had a 630pm appointment. As one lady was talking loudly to us another lady tried to tell us to stay. Suddenly both ladies were screaming at each other in their native tongue as they point to us. How uncomfortable! This was a horrible experience. As they continued to tell we just walked out. As we were walking out one lady said... I'm sorry. Make appointment. Ugh..... I only came to this place as a last option compared to other places in Rowland or other Traditional Thai spots. This was a BIG mistake! First, they gave us an attitude for requesting the $30 foot massage. They kept trying to force us to pick one of the others but a foot massage was all we wanted since we went hiking earlier in the day. I normally tip $10-15 depending on the service and amount of time so I didn't really care since I was already going to give $15 because it was late. I don't know ... but tipping half of the amount seemed reasonable. Next, they asked if we were Chinese and I just didn't respond cause I hate it when you say you are cause then they start to talk to you and try to have a conservation. Another mistake because that's when both massage ladies started to bad mouth us and say how cheap we were for not picking other ones and saying how late they are working. In my head I'm like wtf?!?! Your business hours are 10-10pm so this still your operating hours. At the end, when we go pay I figure I'll just give them $12 each for tip because I'm thinking that we will never coming here again. Afterwards, the receptionist gives them their tip and they literally talk shit in Chinese and my friend responds back saying we understand what you said and we never come to this trash place ever again. I came in today specifically to have a knot worked out. After 30 minutes of rubbing my shoulders over the sheet, the female masseuse used oil and didn't touch the knot. I've tried many others but none compares except for this hidden gem. I walked in on a late Sunday afternoon with little expectations. To my pleasant surprise, this place was neat and clean. The background music wasn't cheesy or annoying. The dim lighting didn't bother me. It was rather relaxing. (I can see, however, the red glow may be suggestive to others...) The best part was the attention to my problem areas with care. My masseuse had expert knowledge on how to apply the right amount of pressure on the sore spots. The icing on the cake: hot stones done right. The heat should be introduced to your skin with feather-like strokes then slowly work up to deeper pressure. It was heaven! At $40! Amy gave me a massage, and she was really good, she asked me several times if she was being too hard or if I was ok, and that's really nice and considerate... I've been to a lot of massage places and they don't usually ask me how I'm doing. It was $40 for a 1 hour body massage which I thought was fair, and although other places are cheaper, I would go back here instead. I fell asleep during the massage, it was so relaxing! The place is new, relaxing and clean. The ambient music was a little loud but they turned it down. They barely speak English so i had a bit of a hard time communicating, but we communicated the important stuff (the price, how long the massage is, that I had to take off my clothes but I can leave my panty on, etc.). I've been here 3 times. I have lived in the area for a long, long time and never found a massage place as great as this one. It was relaxing and very therapeutic. I slept great after my first massage, so I've been back several times. I've taken family with me to share the greatest massage out there. The staff is friendly, professional and very attentive. My daughter and I had massages at Rainbow Massage in Diamond Bar and they were amazing! We got lucky as we were walk ins without appointments. The staff helped us right away. The massages were perfect! The best part of this review "story" is the fact that when I returned home that evening, I realized my watch was not in my purse. I was so distraught believing I'd never see it again. My daughter and I quickly drove to their shop and put a note in through the mail slot.Then we came home and Prayed! I went back first thing in the morning and was told "Yes,Yes" they found my watch! I waited maybe 3 minutes for the owner to come in with my watch. Now this was not just any watch. It's an 18K Gold Cartier watch form the early 90's that has incredible sentimental value to me, along with a hefty market value. This experience made me realize that calling ahead and questioning first what type of massages they provide (ie: the basic sweedish, or centric style) is important. I assumed that this Asian massage business was much similar to the other joints in the area. The woman tending the front, with the curly hair, was my masseuse. It started off well until i realized that this woman wasn't giving me the centric Asian style massage that I was used to paying for, but rather she just lathered my body with oil, used her forearm for majority of the time, and patted and squeezed here and there. Now, I don't mind for more pressure, personally I prefer it, but this woman was rough af. Not to mention my experience kept getting interrupted, for whatever reason. I left feeling more stressed and annoyed than relaxed and satisfied. It came to my conclusion after the end of the massage that this woman gave me a poor, poor attempt to a Thai massage. Her routine was very similar to the routine of thai massages, without the stretching and pressure. Seriously, I would describe this massage as being 'marinated'. So yeah call and ask first what type they give.. I wasted 40$ for 1 hr massage. no where did it ever specify that it was a Thai massage, so don't be fooled to assume. The person who was massaging me kept leaving the room as people came in. The two ladies working there were talking to each other loudly from different rooms. The lady massaging me did one hand, left the room and when she came back she didn't even massage my other hand. The people working here also wear sandals so when you're trying to relax you can hear their sandals walking up and down the hall and in the room. My back has been giving me issues for a good few months now, but I haven't had the time to stop by for a massage. I finally had a day off today and called around, and they asked if I could be there in ten minutes (which I was able to since I live down the street). They were so nice and friendly and the place was spotless. They led me to a small room where relaxing music was playing and when she started the massage, she actually asked if I wanted more pressure or not. I said yes, and she added a little more pressure until I was comfortable. I was doubting whether or not a massage could help my back, but she really took her time on all the problem areas that she could feel (I didn't even have to tell her about!). The body massage included head, neck, torso, legs, and face (which was AMAZING because I'm constantly suffering from awful headaches) and even hot stones (which she asked if I was okay with before she used them, and they felt absolutely incredible!) After the massage, I came out and she handed me a mini cup of water, and after I was done I went to throw the cup away but they took it and asked if they could refill it for me. It's literally right next door to a used bookstore, so after the massage I went ahead and was able to purchase some books to continue on with my relaxing day off (: Overall, I highly recommend this place. We went in and asked for a foot massage, the manager kept pushing for the $30 foot/body so when she kept pointing to the $30 service we said ok. They then took us to the rooms where received a body but no foot massage for $40 each. When I asked what happened to the foot massage portion they said they "we" had chosen the pricer option and to pay up. They will work you here and can erase and change the service board at will so be careful. Shady business right here. I'm sorry, but this place is very unprofessional. I came here once before and it was amazing. I felt like I got a lot for my money. So since the first experience was great, I expected the same the second time around. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I called for an appointment ahead of time for 8pm and they agreed. Once I arrived, I was told there was no one available. Even after I told the hostess that I made an appointment for 8. She just kept telling me to come back at 9 or tomorrow. Excuse me? Why agree to take an appointment if you don't follow through? I will never come back. Get organized and be professional. This is unacceptable. My sister inlaw treated me for a body massage for my birthday. She has brought her niece. The three of us had a great massage by three women. All three had strong hands and did not smellbof smoke. My only complaint is she left the room 3 times. To get the hot stones, to get a warm towel and to get a dry towel to wipe you off.
