Prices and customer service pretty bad. Prepared foods are not great quality and overpriced. Wish this was any other grocery store or co-op.

I thought it was a cool little health food store. We were staying near by and it had everything we needed.

Super cute local health food store. I really like that it is independent and not part of a big chain. :)

The Farmer and the Cook -- Fresh Finds Off the Main Road…read more I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect walking in for the first time, but The Farmer and the Cook won me over pretty quickly. It's bright, clean, and has this easy organic warmth to it... the kind of place that feels like it was put together by people who actually care. Right off the main road, easy to find, and the family vibes are real. It's the kind of spot you want to linger in. If you're navigating dietary restrictions, this place is a quiet goldmine. Strong gluten free options, a genuinely vegan friendly menu, and plenty of vegetarian choices too... so everyone at the table actually gets to eat something they're excited about. That's rarer than it should be. The food? Solid. I went with the raw tacos, sopes, and huarache; all filling, all fairly priced for the area. The raw tacos especially surprised me... fresh, flavorful, and not in a "I wish this was a real taco" kind of way. These hold their own. Service was quick and most of the staff had a warm, genuine energy about them. The one small snag; the cashier seemed to be having a rough one. A little gruff, made me feel like my first visit was mildly inconvenient for them. It happens, we all have bad days, but first impressions do stick a little. Overall though, I'm absolutely coming back. There's more on that menu calling my name and an atmosphere that makes it easy to slow down for a bit. Whether you're vegan, gluten free, or just looking for something fresh and honest... this one's worth the stop.

Definitely elevated and delicious, but don't expect the same spices and preparations. I had the goat cheese and veggies tacos, taquitos, and fresh chips and salsa. The chips and salsa were incredible and super fresh. I loved the homemade hot sauce as well. The star of the show for me was the seasonal persimmon smoothie. I couldn't believe how delicious it was, and for only $7?! The bathroom was pretty disgusting when I stopped in, but I will try not to hold that against them lol overall the restaurant was clean and the people were friendly!

Also, they get a lot of their stuff where it's just about ready to expire or has expired in some cases For like perishable items. The people there are super friendly and it is changed over the years to a cleaner presentation now with the emphasis more on alcohol it appears, but it is very convenient like I mentioned when you don't want to drive to one of the big grocery store chains that's much further and simply get something really quick. You are going to pay a little more premium for it since you're shopping at this place where they do gotta make a little bit of a profit since they're not a huge change store. As an example if you were to go by a box of cereal there where you can get it probably at a grocery chain store for two or three dollars you're gonna pay probably four or five dollars but again very convenient to have it literally in your backyard pretty much.

I was in the hospital for 6 days and 6 nights in excruciating pain and when I was released they gave me a bunch of pain pills which I refused to take instead I started taking Ojai Energetics, taking 3 to 4 doses per day, the pain was relieved and I was able to sleep every night.   I have also shared your incredible product with my Auntie who suffers from Maneers disease in Santa Monica she has been sleeping like a baby and she loves Ojai Energetics. It's located in a parking lot behind the main strip and in a residential area. All street parking but it tends to be pretty easy. There's a bakery vendors that I've had a few times but they do sell out quite fast. Their fresh baked bread and sweets are one not to be missed. This visit, they weren't there in their usual section so I assume they were pretty much sold out fast. Loads of fresh organic vendors with all their goods. As it was summer, there were so many vendors with amazing tomatoes. Heirlooms, grape tomatoes and so all. Everything all looked so fresh and I'm sure it was straight from the farm that morning. Also loads of other vendors selling their homemade goods, like soap to candles to everything in between. Majority of the vendors are fresh produce so you know you'll be picking up fresh farm products. Also fresh flowers are always a must when a visiting the farmers market. Can't forget the fresh berries and fruits. Doesn't scream summer without all the fresh berries straight of the plant. Regardless what you're looking for or not, I'm sure you'll always leave with plenty of fresh things at this market. Their items are always so fresh. A must whenever I'm Ojai. It's always on a Sunday morning.

Prices are a bit more than Oxnard prices but I do think it's great to support local especially seeing the quality difference between local vendors and grocery stores. $13 for eggs still seems a bit steep for recovering from the egg hiked prices where they are now back to $6-7 in grocery stores. There was a vendor that sells sourdough breads and she was quite popular has she always had a line. Caroline's preservative jams are amazing in flavor and quality. I also appreciated that Centri Coffee was there so that I could buy some whole beans.

Just wanted to send a quick note about Benny, the store manager at Erewhon in Calabasas…read more Our travel AYSO team came down from Northern California for the finals for our community volunteer sponsored soccer organization, and we stopped by to grab drinks for the kids. Benny helped make sure everything was ready right on time, which honestly made a big difference with a bunch of tired players and parents trying to keep things moving between games. What stood out was how easy and positive the whole interaction was. Benny clearly runs a tight ship and the people working there reflect that. Everyone we interacted with was helpful and on top of things. Benny even stepped in to improve the throughput for all smoothies. When someone treats their job like they own the place, that's special. That's shareholder / owner behavior, not staff behavior. It starts with values, with leading and being consistent in following those values. The outcome is culture, and that creates true scale of the vision and every team member adopting the culture. This is actually the first time I've experienced this level of service at a grocery store, so I figured it was worth mentioning. If Benny hired these folks, he's doing something right. Anyway, just wanted it to be known that if you stop by that location, you'll be taken care of. And for what it's worth, I don't usually send notes like this.

We went during lunch time so I'm aware that was part of the parking lot fullness, but the staff had this almost apathetic attitude. I saw a piece of pizza I hadn't seen and wanted to try. A couple employees were having a convo at the counter. I just waited to see how long they were going to stand there. Longer than you'd expect. I mentioned Milo earlier. Rockstar in the cafe, gave us samples, answered questions about things I didn't see. I was told to try the battered portobellos. I guess they didn't have them that day but I appreciated that Milo checked. That was the most pleasant experience and Milo's customer service was aligned with what I've come to expect. Checkout was lacklustre. This is the first store I've been at that had a conveyor belt. I went through twice. The first person seemed like he didn't want to be there. The second I asked about the new membership tiers and she wasn't sure then she was surprised at my level. I got clarification around the program from someone at my store, and she showed me where vip line is. It just wasn't a vibe I've been used to over any of the stores I've been to. Maybe it's calabasas, idk. I can say I went. 8 down, 3 to go. Ya, Erewhon is probably my personality atp. Ah well, there's worse things!
