He looks at a paper behind the counter and says "$2.99" I said ok. I'll take two. He then immediately changes the price to $3.99. I agree. He then proceeds to ring the items up for $5.00 each. Then didn't mention it. This is not the first time it's happened to me at this location. The only reason why I caught it is because the last two times the same thing happened. Items are not priced, you ask how much they are. They tell you one price and ring up another. I realize I can contact weights and measures and what they're doing is not legal. That's just too much time and effort. They've lost my business. That simple.

I hold off by going to this store unless it's urgent and I need some items. I don't shop here as a norm as what is sold here typically is sold at that store I referenced for much cheaper. However it's convenient and I'm sure many will pay the extra to avoid the commute to Ventura. I will say the employees here are much friendlier than they used to be. Caroline and a tall gentleman on the team, I apologize I can't remember his name, were incredibly kind and stepped in right away to get everything for me last second. I see them both all the time when I am in the store, and they are always positive and always provide great customer service. This experience was no different. They could have easily told me to reschedule, but instead they made it happen and were genuinely nice about it. That kind of customer service really stands out. I really appreciate the crew there. I hear that the town only has a couple of grocery stores. This being one of them. The store is a chain and carried major brands. The interior and fixtures was a bit dated but clean and organized. Customer service ran the gamut of exceeding expectations to some twilight zone interactions with staff. No major calamities though. We hit up the deli several times. There was one particular woman that I struck up a conversation with on a couple occasions and from the first interaction she was engaging and fun to talk to. Infectious positive attitude.

The store is bigger and is similar to the Winco I used to visit in Fresno but the layout of the Aisles was a little different which cost me quite a bit more time to navigate trying to find the correct aisles. I honestly won't be coming back though because Winco does still does not accept credit cards. You can use contactless method to pay but it will reject a credit card and the cashier told me they only accept debit cards. This is still greed from the Employees (the employee stock ownership plan) because they don't want to pay credit card fees for use.
