The shop itself is huge and full of amazing wines. The tasting list is diverse and large and they are super flexible in allowing guests to build their own tastings from the list. They also have some snacks! The outdoor area is right on the water and is absolutely lovely. I could spend the whole afternoon out there! For the past two years, my mom and I have joined them for their wine and crab cruises and nothing compares to them- absolute magic. This place is a total gem!

Some of them are waking East away from the water and others are walking towards the marina. I even encountered one group a half mile away at the North Basin of the La Conner Marina. There are about five parking spots in the small lot right next to the museum and street parking otherwise. The day that we went was actually the first day that it was open after being closed for a while. We explored some of the exhibits and one thing that caught our eye was an art piece that seemingly had some trash (like a burger bun wrapper) which was confusing. When we left we talked to the docent and she explained that it's there on purpose and many people had been asking about the very same thing. There were also some other exhibits of local artists on both the first and second floors. There's also a gift shop if you want to shop around. It's a nice place to check out some local art and support local artists.

The proprietress is a fascinating individual with whom I loved talking, and if we hadn't had a mandatory obligation 80 miles away at an appointed time, I probably would have spent more time and money (yes!) in the store. They asked if we wanted more wine and we said no, so they cleared our food quickly even though we were still eating. They also put a reserved sign on our table while we were still there (we only stayed maybe 25-30 min) and told us that someone else wanted our table. It was kind of rude and we felt super rushed by the servers. We really felt like we were being hurried out and didn't get the full experience. They also took our water glasses and dumped them on the ground next to us while we were still sitting and before we were done. We always felt safe and also appreciated a willingness to extend our trip time at no cost to ensure we found the Orca pods. The water was choppy on our day out, so we experienced the awesomeness of the Salish Sea as well as her beauty! Our two grandsons, age 12 and 14, really had fun. For all of us, the highlight of the trip was definitely seeing and hanging out with the two incredible Orca pods. It was memorable without compare. I was especially pleased that I was able to take some great video of the Orcas and wonderful photos of my grandchildren.

Addie gave us tons of educational info that was cool and interesting. Although we didn't sea orcas breaching over our kayaks like we'd dreamed of, we did see plant life, fish, crab, seals on rocks, and "Ellie Mae" the female elephant seal on shore. 1.5 tour was the perfect amount of time for our day.
