USPS HAS TERRIBLE SERVICE!! They don't even attempt to make…read moredeliveries of packages to residences, but they will put a slip in your mailbox which says they attempted delivery. This is a blatant lie! The parcels never leave the office and you have to go in and get it, if you can make it into town. This was done to me last Friday, and since they are closed on Saturday, I have to wait until Monday to pick it up. Of course there is no one to complain to and the USPS has zero interest in service their customers. This has happened many times, and it's unacceptable.

Well, there are still thousands of adorable little buildings that dot the landscape and remind us of a simpler time when the mail was such a form of entertainment and interest. And one of them is right here on Orcas Island. Have a card to send? A postcard to make people jealous? This is your stop. I wanted to send some cards from the island and so I popped them in the box here before boarding the ferry. You can walk while you're waiting for the ferry to dock; it's just outside the normal Orcas Village development. This building was also the first one I saw when I arrived. It was dark, and as I exited the dock my headlights registered Post Office. It seems a lovely sentinel to a simpler way of life and a slower time--the things that island life represent. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to go into the building, but I they drive up box is convenient. They have a few parking places there as well, if you're driving in. Cute, and perfect.

His car was paid off so they ended up totaling it and he's now navigating the process of paperwork. He was unsure how to fill out his paperwork, and I guess brought the papers into the notary blank. She very kindly helped him through the process of filling out the paperwork, getting it notarized and getting it mailed off. I appreciate her kindness immensely and wanted to make sure it was acknowledged. My dads words: "Everything went well... The person was very nice and experienced... Explained everything and helped me fill out papers... The lady helping me was the Notary and knew all about what I had to do... She even knew how the mailing label was supposed to work... I was happy with the service..." So if anyone is looking for a notary on island this sounds like the lady you want to have helping you!
