Every single plate was on point. The branzino was the standout -- crispy almond crust, fish cooked perfectly, not a dry bite on the plate. The crab cake was all crab, no filler, and the caprese was fresh and simple the way it should be. The real star of the night was Scott, the bartender/owner. He took care of us from the second we sat down, recommended everything we ate, and went out of his way to make Edward's birthday feel special. You can tell he actually cares about the people in his room, not just turning tables. That kind of hospitality is rare. And the drinks -- a dirty martini, a Manhattan, and hands down the best whiskey sour I've ever tasted in my life. The Rendition Room is a whole experience: hidden speakeasy, great food, great drinks, and Scott running the show. If you're celebrating something, this is where you go.

It's become so much more than just one of our favorite bars and every visit reminds us why we keep coming back. The biggest reason, though, is the people. Hospitality is something that's hard to fake, and the team here does it effortlessly. From the moment you walk through the door, you're greeted like an old friend. Over the years, the staff has created an environment that feels welcoming, comfortable, and genuinely personal, and that's something that's become increasingly rare. Matt, Sabrina, and the entire team are all such gems. Scott also deserves special recognition. He's a huge part of what makes The Rendition Room such a special place. Whether he's introducing a new cocktail, sharing the story behind a spirit, or simply taking the time to check in, his passion and care for every guest shine through. It's people like Scott who transform a great bar into a place you truly feel connected to. On our most recent visit, we tried the new Decade & Debauchery cocktail, celebrating The Rendition Room's 10 year anniversary, and it's phenomenal. Balanced, and beautifully executed. In a city full of great bars, they have managed to create something much harder to find, a sense of community. After all these years, it still feels just as special as the first time we walked in.

The restaurant is gorgeous! There is something incredibly charming about the combination of the warm lighting, fireplace, and open-air dining area. We were seated in the corner beneath the open sky, facing the fireplace, which made the entire experience feel especially intimate and memorable. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was wonderful. Our server gave us complimentary brachetto wine on the house, and we loved it so much that we got another glass. He also recommended the crispy manzanilla olives as an appetizer, which was not our first choice, but I'm so glad we did. It was a unique take on olives and they were so crispy, flavorful, and addicting to eat. For the appetizers, we had the meatball and the crispy pork belly and watermelon. We split the main entree, the mushroom papardelle and added mac and cheese with hand cut frites. The pappardelle were fresh and flavorful. The meatball was also generously portion but for me, the star of the show is the mac and cheese. I also loved the crispy pork belly with watermelon as a contrast of savory and sweet. By the time dessert arrived, I was already pretty full, but I'm so glad we made room for it. We had the sticky toffee cake and it was fantastic. My biggest recommendation is to save yourself the headache and use valet parking if you're going during peak hours. We went after 9 PM on a Sunday so there was plenty of street parking in the area. Firefly is one of those restaurants where the atmosphere, food and hospitality came together to create an experience that feels genuinely special. The only reason I'm giving them a 4 star is the parking situation and also because our frites were overly salty. We asked to send it back to the kitchen and they were kind enough to take it off the bill because we barely touched it. Definitely a restaurant I'd recommend for a romantic dinner, celebration, or simply an evening when you want to enjoy good food in a beautiful setting. I would skip out on the frites and try their other foods though.

We went anyway, even though there was nothing extra special to celebrate but life, health and friendship. First off, finding parking was insane- and there was filming across the street taking up nearly all the parking for blocks- I tried. just Valet it rather than walk 6 blocks in heels. Entering this place for the first time, I was enchanted, - treated like a VIP from the parking staff, the door security, host team and servers. Our table was next to the fire place and under the open sky. I could see immediately why this place is loved for the romantic and charming ambiance. We'd planned to share a few plates but then found the prix fix menu and that made it easy. Half a fresh baguette and soft delicious butter with balsamic arrived and it was amazing. The appetizers arrived, heirloom tomatoes with burrata were the best I've had in L.A. and my friend ate most of it himself. Tuna tartar was good. Next the entrees- steak frites for me and the braised short rib for him. The steak was huge filet mignon, with a side of delicious French fries. One suggestion- eat the French fries as hot as possible. They were great and I almost missed them, focused on the steak and sharing the braised short rib with pomme puree and a mushroom sauce that was excellent. The portions were unexpectedly generous. I did not have a lot of room for dessert, but creme brûlée a sticky toffee cake were just incredible. I can't wait to come back with a less fussy dinner guest because he made what would have been an epic first visit less enjoyable than it could have been. Thanks to the several wait staff and manager who accommodated above and beyond. This place is my new favorite L.A. restaurant! I highly recommend you bring your special people to this special place.

Perfect for cocktail hour, but they also serve the full menu from castaway here so you could even order dinner if you wanted. Really beautiful presentation for the cocktails, reminds me of Barton G before it closed. They have a buzz button cocktail which was super tasty! Service was extreme friendly, and accommodating. Everyone was making sure we were satisfied throughout out time there. I will for sure be back, and if you're looking for a cute date night spot this it! I will be back to try more of the tapas!

This was my first experience with Vitello's Restaurant and their Velvet Martini Lounge. On Saturday…read morenight, a group of 7 of us took our friend here for her birthday, and booked our table in the Velvet Martini Lounge because she wanted to listen to the jazz. Mary was our server, and it started out promising, she greeted us promptly and took our drink orders. It went downhill from there. By the end of the night, the person refilling our water was the best service we got all night, because he came around regularly to check and refill our glasses. It seemed like because there were 7 of us, so she got an automatic 20% gratuity, she didn't think she had to work for her tips, but the service was appalling. Honestly, the room was only half full, so it wasn't even that busy. Service: We had a friend show up late, and it took a long time to get someone's attention to bring a wine and water glass for her. I kept trying to waive someone down, or hoped that Mary would come check in, but no such luck. When the food arrived, they just dropped off the food and left, they didn't ask if I or anyone at the table wanted pepper or parmesan for our dishes, or needed anything else. My friend sitting across from me finally got someone's attention that was walking by to bring some pepper, and after doing her plate, he didn't ask if anyone else at the table wanted any. So I stopped him from leaving and asked the table if anyone else wanted pepper or parm. Myself and another friend wanted parm, but we were half way through our meals before it came. We were at the end of the meal before Mary even came back to check back on us. We ordered another bottle of wine because all of our glasses were empty. Mary just brought it to the table, opened it and then walked off without refilling any of the empty glasses. For dessert, we ordered one dessert to share, but everyone decided we would do after dinner martinis. Mary took the order for 5 people at the table and left without taking my order or my friend's order for our martinis, so we end up having to wait until she came back with the other 5 martinis to order ours. Food: It was bland, underwhelming and overpriced. I ordered the chicken piccata. The capers were the only thing that gave it flavor, its a dish that I didn't think you could make tasteless. The noodles did not taste fresh, almost rubbery. There are so many Italian places around Los Angeles that are the same price or cheaper that have higher quality and better tasting food. I ordered a chocolate martini, and the alcohol wasn't too overpowering, and it tasted just like drinking a dessert. We ordered two bottles of the Montepulciano that they had on their wine list, it was just okay, so if you are a wine person, then I recommend bringing your own bottle and just pay the corkage fee. Bill: They don't hand you the bill, which is a surprise for such a big group. They didn't give us the printed bill until we asked for it after paying. So when I checked it over, I was surprised that on top of the 20% automatic gratuity, there was also a 3.5% kitchen appreciation fee. Which I was told by the hostess as we were leaving you can ask to have removed before paying your bill. Doesn't seem like there is any transparency for that fee. It definitely felt painful to pay 23.5% in tips/fees for such appallingly bad service. Jazz: Saving grace for this place, that's the one star. Saturday night they had just a singer and a piano player. The singer's voice was beautiful and she took requests, so we requested La Vie en Rose before we left. She sang it in English vs. French, but she sang it beautifully. Vitello's has a great history, so if you are going to come here, then come here for the drinks and the jazz.

Our server, Emmanuel, made some fantastic recommendations. We got the waygu tartare, shrimp tostada, Dungeness crab pasta , and oyster mushrooms. The tartare was hands down the best I've had-- fantastic flavor and perfect texture. Honestly u can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We will prob have to come back to try the scallops and lobster pasta. Drinks were strong but also beautifully crafted. For dessert we shared the sorbet which was a nice ending to our meal (not too sweet but also very refreshing). Verse surprised us with a delicious almond cake that reminded me of an almond croissant. Sooo good. We rly appreciated that :) Even tho we did dine here a little later in the evening, we were still able to enjoy some live music which I appreciated. Emmanuel educated us on the history of Verse as well as the lore of the menu and building itself. A true class act! All in all one of the best dining experiences I've had in a while.

It's easily one of the best hidden-gem speakeasy restaurants and bars in the heart of Los Angeles. From the moment you walk in, the staff welcome you with warmth and respect, going the extra mile to make you feel at home. Makayla was an outstanding host and made my wife and me feel truly welcomed. The gentlemen performing on piano and drums were beyond spectacular. Their music put us completely at ease and literally transported us to another world. I could have stayed there all night enjoying that atmosphere. Now, the food--absolutely phenomenal. Their tomahawk steak paired with their bone marrow salsa was out-of-this-world good. Every bite introduced me to flavors I had never experienced before, and that pairing alone makes me want to come back. Their milk bun bread was incredibly indulgent, and their bigeye tuna tartare was equally outstanding. The atmosphere, hospitality, live music, and food made this an exceptional experience for my wife and me. Verse LA deserves every bit of a 20/10. We will absolutely be coming back more often, and I literally cannot wait for our next visit.

We ordered at 6:25 and they still hooked us up. *Full craft cocktails* only $8 during that time. We decided to double up LOL, get 2. I tried the Hand Maid and the Southern Cawing. I think that if I'd gotten one of the cocktails from their regular menu (like Piccolo Punch, $19), it might have been more interesting - but these were very solid. And where are you going to get 2 craft cocktails for $8 each? Food: we got the corn fritters from the HH menu: 4 hulking delicious fritters for $8. Yes, please! We then decided to split 2 apps from the regular menu: brussel sprouts and the hamachi app. Both were unique and tasty.
