The place was not to busy when we got there, but started filling up when we left. We tried a flight of beers. They had a lot of beers on draft(close to 25 I believe) from all over WV and other locations. They also sell canned and bottled beer out of coolers. The two girls working seemed nice enough. There were several IPAs and stouts on the menu which is not my favorites, but there were some lagers and ales to try out. It was worth the stop to check it out.

I dropped in two consecutive nights and had similar experiences both times. The interior of the bar is smallish, with limited bar seating and about a half dozen tables. The majority of the seating was outside. There were a variety of places to sit, including what appeared to be a working fire pit. The bartenders both nights were very friendly and helpful in selecting a locally produced beer. The prices were very reasonable. All of the customers appeared to be locals, but everyone was friendly. Years ago a friend named Mark worked at St. Marks. When my grandfather died all of the cousins got…read moretogether here for a drink. My first drink with my nephew was here. My last drink with a friend in Huntington was here. Maybe I like it so much because of the good memories. I do grab a seat and people watch since there is usually is a space at the bar that opens up and the chairs are surprisingly comfortable. The crowd does change a bit as the night wears on. People will introduce themselves, chat a little bit, and move upstairs or back to their group. Sometimes they are drunk. Sometimes they are getting there. Overall they are super nice and remind me of a mixture of the old BW3 college and working crowd and Robby's college crowd from decades ago. When it's time to go the bartenders are politely insistent. Occasionally I have been told to make sure my buddy, a complete stranger at the beginning of the night, is not driving. It is easy to meet a 'friend you never knew' here but Huntington is a small town and usually you have a friend or relative or teacher in common. Huntington is like that and I love that St Marks has stayed largely the same and remained in business.
