This was our first time going to Railshake & it was so good!! We will definitely go back! The guacamole wanton appetizer was yummy. I had the turkey bacon avocado panini with sweet potato fries YUM! My husband had the blackened white fish with Cajun sauce, he said it was great. Rosa was our waitress and was kind, helpful, & on the ball with refills. Last night we had our third meal here. The first try wasn't great but wasn't terrible. We attributed it to them being fairly new and being busy. The second time was much better but a bit expensive for what we had. I loved their red potatoes and my husband enjoyed a muscles dish he ordered that was that evenings special. So last night we decided to try again. It was a mistake. The service was very slow. There appeared to be only one server and one bartender trying to serve everyone. It took us over an hour to get a burger and some wings. At about an hour our waitress informed us there was a new cook and he messed up our food and had to start over. When it did come the food was not good. It appeared it may have been microwaved. The wings were white and rubbery. We probably won't go again. read more

This location is perfect for a great service restaurant and brewery! Unfortunately the service is lacking and chronically an issue when I visit here. Ordered a baked potato and salad and the server came to let us know they are out of potatoes! Sitting outside on the patio we had to go inside multiple times to place drink orders and get menus. Disappointing on many levels. Highland needs better! Have hopes for this place... step it up please! read more

Our Family loves this restaurant menu is loaded with great options one of our favorites on the appetizers is Boudin Balls. So great. Fish on Fridays is always hot and fresh. Beer cheese soup and the poor boy sandwiches are always delicious. The staff was very attentive and bar maid was on point with all our adult beverages. read more

The food, beer and atmosphere are great. Such a fun place and a great menu to find in Highland. We had the fried pickles to start. We also had the beer cheese soup and gumbo. Both were perfect. Will order again for sure. The special for the night was the seafood ravioli which was a surprise hit for me. Loved it! The best part is the beer on tap. Such great beers. We live Railshake! Their gumbo is better than any I had in New Orleans. I just wish they'd put the spicy chicken wrap on the regular menu.

I was a bit surprised I liked the food as much as I did although I did go in because of its Yelp rating (I was in the area for Vintage Days). Not sure I liked the interior, the all wood pub-brewery thing that just seemed a bit too slick. Aside from that, the wait staff had great personalities and my food was out fairly quick. I ordered the spinach salad (very well balanced), the fried oysters (very good) and the beer soup which I thought was excellent. I may not go back simply because it's just to far, but if i find myself in Highland again, I may just try the catfish if they have it. read more

Went for lunch on Saturday. Great experience. Chilled on the patio drinking a nice hefeweizen. Had some awesome fried oysters and a fantastic shrimp poboy. I do not give compliments out easily. Went there tonight for their Happy Hour which consisted of 1/2 price Draft Beers and $7 pound of wings!!!! The beer and wings were great. I had the Hazy Little Thing beer - citrusy and tasty... also had the KBB (Kentucky Bourbon and Beer) and it was very good. Excellent experience. Ate dinner at this place last night with some friends. The crab dip was amazing but the potato chips that came with it just wasn't that good. We ordered some garlic bread sticks to go with it that was outstanding. We ordered a strip a ribeye and a chicken Alfredo pasta. This was probably the worst cut of beef I have ever seen. So much fat and gristle. One of the ribeyes was definitely off, had a type of slimy film on the bottom and ended making the two people that ate it sick. The Alfredo tasted like grass or a farm not sure what type of cheese or spices they used but it was awful. Definitely not a good experience and highly unlikely to go back again. read more

My husband and I stopped off of Route 70 for lunch on a Friday. Nice atmosphere, easy to find, friendly staff. The best part was the Gouda cheese beer soup. Stopped in for lunch/beer/Sunday afternoon football. My visit was nothing short of excellent. First, if you like beer (who doesn't), you won't find a better selection anywhere short of a big city bar. Beer was ice cold and there's a neat ice strip in the bar to keep it that way. The recently renovated bar looks amazing. Looks like something you would see in the "after" shot in the show Bar Rescue. For me the food stole the show though. Cajun inspired menu, but with plenty of classic options for the less adventurous palate. Personally, I love Cajun food and live in Houston where there is plenty of it...and the gumbo I got at Railshake was possibly the best I've ever had. We also had a shrimp and crab dip that was incredible. If you go and are not on any sort of diet, I highly recommend it (it's very rich). The whole group loved their food and we all left saying we'd definitely be back. Too many great menu items and beers to try in one visit! read more

One of my favorite places to go. I have four favorites but this one is unique. The amazing food on the menu is a great draw. The ice bar top is fantastic as well. It is a bit noisy unless you are in the back, but totally worth it. When there is a small group, we request the back. You can even eat outside by the railroad tracks! The place looks great! The food was just fine, and the prices were reasonable if not on the low side. The place was not very busy and with one waitress and one bartender the service seemed slow. But I was not in a rush and enjoyed the meal. My chicken sandwich was fine. The fries were good. Burgers are all well done and not made to order like I hoped - but still pretty good. The only odd thing was that the onions tasted very strongly of fish - probably from being stored next to the fish in the fridge. I would go back. read more

Best place to get craft beers on tap in Highland, in my opinion. Food is good if you like mostly Cajun cuisine. Patio is great in nicer weather, but expect a little shake when the trains come. I give them a two on the food. The Strip was good but not great. You order an appetizer and your main course comes out first. Whatever it is in the ribeye get it off. It taste like box cheese. Portions are way to small and skimpy. Beer selection is great. Keep asking when they are going to have their own but keep getting a BS story. Been back several times thinking things would get better but .... No. They ruined the place putting in video gambling. It took the restaurant out of the place. We had heard so so reviews so we decided to try it. The name versus what they actually serve are very misleading. We thought that since it was a "brewery" that we would be able to get a rockstar burger or wings. Nope, this place serves Creole food, and a very sad version of Creole food. The cheeseburger tasted like fake meat, almost to the point of not being able to cut it in half. My husband got the fish po boy. The bread was so soggy that he couldn't even pick the sandwich, the slaw on it had horrible flavor. It seemed like they didnt have enough help for the few people visiting when we were there. We waited 20 mins just for our check. We will not be returning. Then when we got the check and for the items we got it was almost $40. So, not even worth what we paid. read more
