Came here while staying at Spring Mill State Park. Saw this place on Yelp and decided to try it out. We had their specials. I got their Grilled Tenderloin with fries. My lovely wife had their Chicken and Noodles with green beans. Both were exceptionally cooked and plenty on the plate. The place is very clean with TONS of railroad memorabilia all over the walls. There was one picture of a hometown resident maybe not as memorable as the towns most memorable resident Gus Grissom he is Sam Bass. A train robber bank robber who was gunned down by Texas Rangers in my hometown of Round Rock, Texas. We even had a street named after him. Imagine that! So, if you're around these parts you have to stop you won't be disappointed.

What a cute quaint place! A little café of Time gone by. Completely decorated with railroad memorabilia, something to look at everywhere you turn. The waitresses were friendly and informative. They made our whole experience something to remember. Of course we had to have their world famous humongous tenderloin. We split one and added a bun, as you see in the picture. Which of course we cut again in half and had lots of leftovers for two more lunches. The batter was perfect, and the tenderloin itself was not too thin as they sometimes are when they're this big it was very moist and meaty! Perfection really! They seem to have lots of other things on the menu that we also love to try if we were in this area. They also had a very large selection of desserts. My husband loved their persimmon pudding, which most places never serve. Definitely a five star experience and we will always return when in the area!

Waitress was incredibly friendly. We each ordered something different. My husband enjoyed the tenderloin. I had the fish sandwich and scarfed it down. We also shared the fried pickles, they didn't last long with our pickle loving family. If you are in the area stop here it's cute and railroad theme.

This is the largest tenderloin. I've ever ordered.

We found this place looking for a new place to try on Yelp. Was a little bit of a drive but totally worth it. To say the portions are large is an understatement. This was the largest tenderloin I've ever seen. It was delicious. The service was excellent. They have daily specials, today was meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans also a marinaded pork chop mashed potatoes with cajun gravy. They have house made desserts. We also tried Krack korn dip with tortilla chips. Think gourmet queso was sooooo good.

So if you're trying to eat healthy I'd pass. However if you don't mind indulging in crazy portions and fried deliciousness this is the place for you. The place was packed, but service was great. You can tel it's a locals spot. We ordered fried pickles for the table and they were great, they actually tasted like pickles. I got the fried chicken liver special with green beans and potatoes. I think it was around 11.00 and I only ate half, so left overs will be had. My son got the fish sandwich, my mom got the train wreck salad and the two guys got the tenderloin sandwich which was massive and thick. We heard dessert is great here but we were too full.

My family and I stopped in here while we were in the area to try something new. I got the club sandwich with chips. It was decent but the average of a three stars wife got a fish sandwich. She said it was decent. My mom got a cheeseburger same thing everybody gave their food to two or three stars. It was small place had down home country field, which I did like but overall three stars sounds about right.

Half a Hoosier tenderloin sandwich with full bun. Other half in the background.

Split a tenderloin sandwich in two and left with still a half a sandwich! But also had the amazing onion rings and outstanding fried pickles. Everything was fantastic and fresh!! Service was spectacularly nice and welcoming! We will definitely be making this stop again next time we are in the area. The place also has really fun and historical decor. Definitely worth a trip!

The pork tenderloin was massive! And not some skimpy piece of pork pounded to oblivion. It was a nice big cut of meat and fried perfectly. Staff was friendly and service was good.

Visiting Spring Mill State Park, which happened to be "under construction", with restaurant within the park "closed", a couple of friends and myself left the park tired and hungry. We got out our iphone and searched for the nearest place for lunch/dinner. Railroad Cafe came up so that's how we ended up there. The ambiance as we walked inside was small time diner. The Staff were very polite and helpful. We asked for recommendations, which lead us to our order. 1 grilled Tenderloin sandwich, 1 fried Tenderloin sandwich, and 1 Chicken Salad. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS! I would definitely go back again!

The inside seating might be on the cozy side, but don't let that fool you--there's ample room for comfort. And soon, a new patio with a gazebo will grace the front and side, offering a prime view of the creek that meanders beside it. Imagine sittin' under the gazebo, the sun setting over the horizon, and the gentle murmur of the creek as you savor every bite. That's the kind of experience Smokin' Hawgs is fixing' to offer. Now, let me tell y'all about the man behind the magic--Daryel. He's a dedicated chef and a fellow Masonic brother, rising with the rooster each morning to prepare the day's meats and sides. Every dish is crafted with pure love and passion, and it shows in every mouthful. **What we tried:** - **Brat Slider:** I took a bite, and it was like striking gold. Each morsel was a burst of flavor that had me wanting more. - **Pulled Pork Sandwich:** My wife saddled up to this dish, and let me tell ya, she's a tough critic. But this time, she cleaned her plate, leaving nary a crumb behind, except the bread. The pulled pork was plentiful, the baked beans were rich and savory, and the scalloped potatoes were creamy and delightful. - **4 Rib Meal:** My daughter chose this, and those ribs were tender as a gentle breeze, falling right off the bone. I had a taste of the beans--lip-smacking good, I tell ya. The ribs were seasoned to perfection, and each bite was a journey through flavor town. Daryel's signature sauces are the perfect sidekick to the star of the show--the meat. Each sauce complemented the flavors beautifully, adding a delightful kick that lingered on the taste buds. So, whether you're a local lookin' for your next favorite spot or just a traveler passing through, Smokin' Hawgs is worth every mile of the journey.
