Bad service and poor communication…read more I've been trying to catalogue my MTG collection lately. I drove 40 min to get to this shop because they have a machine that scans your cards. I paid the shop to rent the machine and waited for 2 hours. Then the staff told me "We made a mistake setting this up. We can't give you the scanned info, but leave your cards behind and your email address, and we can send them over. You'll just need to scan this thing we send you." I was uncomfortable leaving my cards behind because they're important to me. But I didn't want to walk away empty-handed. So I decided to trust them and I left my cards behind. I didn't hear anything for 4 days. I had to call them and they said "Oh the employee you were talking to got sick. If you want to pick up your cards you can do that though." I asked "How about scanning my cards?" and they said "We'll message the sick employee and call you back to let you know what he says". I waited 3 more days and they didn't contact me at all. I realized they weren't going to reach out to me to resolve the issue, so I had to drive down to the store to demand my cards back. I don't know who the person running the back of the shop is. Maybe the manager. Maybe the owner. All I knew is that they had context on the whole situation and knew that I had returned to get my cards. They didn't bother to come over to talk to me. They didn't even give me eye contact. They didn't make even a single attempt at improving the situation. Not even an offer for store credit. Not even a sorry. They just shrugged and yelled across the room "machine's broken". Then they went back to puttering around and left another employee to deal with me. This other employee had no context on the situation. All she could do was hand me a cash refund and give me a confused "Sorry...?" I was treated like I was an annoyance. Someone who'd go away eventually if you ignored them. Not a respected customer who just wanted to do business. I'm not mad that the machine was allegedly broken. I'm only slightly mad that the employees aren't trained on how to use the machine. I'm frustrated that I paid for a service and they didn't bother seeing the job through to the end. They didn't communicate when they decided to give up. I trusted them with my personal card collection and they betrayed that trust. I don't even know if I have all my cards back, but I'll never know. Save yourself the stress.

Cool collectibles are on sale at their store a few doors down, and here - including backpacks;). I also spied a Monopoly Gamer MarioKart box! Venue is available for reasonable rental rates for parties and tourneys. Just see Troy! A variety of beverages (Keurig for hot and a fridge for cold) are available as well as a ton of sweet and savory snacks (the Grub Chest -freezer- is a frozen tundra though) and there is a convenient microwave. Long blue tables hold everyone's backpacks and water bottles, and it was nice to see people chatting and getting to know each other when not in game. And yes, they have a restroom! A large majority of the items looked like complete trash. Many, MANY things scratched and scuffed up. I don't want to decorate with crappy looking decorations. A couple items were even ripped (see America sign photo). What the heck!? Who in their right mind would think it's ok to stock that on the shelves? I contemplated taking these items to someone but it would have likely filled the bulk of the cart. I wish I would have taken more pictures but you can see how bad just the few were that I took. Do better, Hobby Lobby. I really hope management sees this.

Best of all, the commons were only 25 cents per card! I did not play any games while I was there, but the store was full of players for multiple different games. I also appreciated that the store employees seemed to know some of the players by name, which tells me that they do see the store as a community space rather than just a business. What stood out to me the most though was my interaction with one of the employees named Anthony. He saw that I was picking up Riftbound cards and asked if I wanted him to introduce me to the other Riftbound players present and break the ice. While I declined the offer, I thought that it was a great gesture and yet another example of how this store cares about the community aspect of card games. While this store isn't near me, I can see myself going back soon, both to buy and play.

So as I'm checking out this other guy told me bulk is off limits until it's been price checked, and then told me my total of 58-60 cards was almost 30 bucks. I did the math, he charged me 50 cents per card and just counted the total up, talk about price gauging. Mind you, they had boxes of bulk stacked on top of each other, so who knows what's been checked or not either, watch me get a scolding for trying to master set some things. There's other card shops that actually do free bulk, I'm definitely gonna stick to them. EDIT: So after reading the other reviews left behind, I can definitely say they do lowball for whatever you bring in. I overheard this one couple bring in some cards that sounded rather high in value based on how the responses were for what they would offer and they were gonna give them a low offer, which I think they declined on some of the cards so good for them.

I don't know who helped me because I was too overwhelmed, but he was so friendly and helpful. Actually everyone working there was pretty respectful and friendly! Price checking on cards was also super quick and he didn't look annoyed, so I was able to ask for the price of a lot of cards. Having to bother someone about pricing is lowkey a big reason why I hated brick-and-mortar, especially when I be ruining their day with every query, and then end up not buying anything. Such a relief it was not the case here. I was looking for a Pokemon card, lowest listed on TCG player was $14 + $2 shipping, and I was quoted $17 for it at the first card shop I stopped at ($1 not a big deal, but I can just buy online). I came here and the first price I was given was $16 which is the same as I would have paid online, but as I asked about more he was able to give me a package price for my cards without me having to ask (because I am not comfortable haggling, even though I think it is part of the card buying culture?) which I very much appreciate. I'm sure I paid less than I would have if I bought these cards online. I might not have bought as many cards as I did though if I'm being honest, but I guess that's part of the business deal. Overall my first super stellar shopping experience with buying single cards at a card store! I would defiantly recommend coming here if you're new to collecting cards! I don't have a lot of friends that collect cards and I'm not great at Googling questions so it's not as easy for me to learn how card market works without getting a little ripped off but the people here were super helpful and welcoming. I will be coming back with a wishlist of cards and maybe some more questions. Thank you for making my day!

The cards are organized extremely well, and there always seems to be new stuff every time that I go here. I can always rely on this place for variety. In terms of value, they are super transparent with pricing. When pricing cards out, they definitely align with TCGPlayer market values, which is very refreshing compared to other card shops in the area. All of the staff is extremely helpful and attentive even when a tournament is happening. Nick always takes the time to explain pricing and answer any questions that I have. I've always walked away feeling like I got great service. My only slight suggestion is that I wish they sold slabs and had Lorcana tournaments. However, I can't complain when Perfect Rares is always a 5/5 experience.

At first I couldn't find the shop, the address sent me to the other side where there's a pharmacy - if you find the pharmacy you're in the right area, just go in the alley to the backside. The prices are somewhat reasonable - some singles and sealed products are at a decent price while some are just trying to match the market. But I get it, the shop needs to make money too. It sucks for the normal consumer/collector as we take the hit for the market prices. There seems to be a lot of singles to pick up - there's a good selection of cards on display and, if you ask, they have more binders with other singles that may not be as popular. Overall, I had a good experience with Victor. Very kind, super respectful, and ready to answer any and all questions. Will be back to shop some more in the future!

Maylay actually signed a poster for me and accidentally smudged it a little. Which was fine with me but he Insisted he was gonna make it right. So one of the guys at OG gave maylay another poster for him to sign for me. I can't remember now the name of the guy that gave it to me but That was a nice gesture. Thanks man. I look forward to coming here for more events.
