Good Afternoon Yelpers, it's ya fav critic again with a hole in the wall experience. My co-worker told me about this place last week, so I had to try it. We decided to go here today, so I could find out for myself what all the fuss was about. The menu is plain but full of life! You cannot beat the price ANYWHERE!! I ordered the Meat Loaf (2 slices) ,with Fried Potatoes, Turnip Greens, a extra side of Macaroni salad and Sweet Tea for my beverage. I wish I cpuld tell you what my co-worker ordered, but I was focused on myself, lol. I can only take a pic to share with you guys what he ordered. My apologies, I will be more attentive next time. He ordered the Meat Loaf with Gravy, Mashed potatoes and Gravy, Mac and Cheese and Scottish Eggs

Good food and prices. Corn pudding is wonderful! Service was good as well. Was recommended by the owner at the B&B we stayed at.

French toast with side of bacon and eggs. Over easy eggs with brisket and side of biscuits and gravy.

Stopped by this place for breakfast on the way to visit Appomattox court house and was pleasantly surprised. It's definitely a popular place for locals-- and I'd come here for Sunday breakfast every weekend if I were a local. The atmosphere is your typical small town restaurant: every one is friendly and the food is fresh and AMAZING. Expect a little bit of a wait if they're busy since all the food is homemade. I hope to be back if I'm ever in this part of Virginia again!

I've been here many many times. I have yet to have a Plate that I have not thoroughly enjoyed. I love this place for breakfast or lunch.

Don't judge a place by the looks - this place was a local diner with friendly staff and good food. It isn't gourmet, but it's great diner food. We came for lunch and everyone enjoyed their meal. Our favorites were the onion rings, baked apples, and club sandwich. There was nothing on the menu above $10. Our waitress told us they were known for their biscuits and bbq. None of us got those, so I can't comment on it, but thought I'd mention it anyway!

    French toast. Bacon costs extra.

It's a quiet little place for breakfast. The biscuits are a bit crumbly but good and the French toast is yummy. Service is good and the server was cheerful and attentive.

It's next to a small playground and new amphitheater, so I'm sure this place gets quite busy on weekends. We all enjoyed our lunches; just unfortunate that it took well over a half hour to receive them. Since we were traveling home to OH, we weren't too keen for a laid back lunch.

One person in our party said her salad had the best dressing she's ever had. The fried pickles were good. The shrimp was good. One bartender was good. Cons - We walked in and basically weren't sure what to do. There was a woman at we thought was a hostess stand, but she never said anything to us. We finally asked if we needed to check in with her to get seated. We did. But it was kind of weird. One bartender was awful. Never made eye contact. Wouldn't take any orders. Acted like she wanted to be anywhere else. I thought the Caesar salad was ok. It came with lacquered salmon. I would have loved the salmon, but not lacquered. It couldn't be made to order. Ok fine. I ordered it the way it was described. There was nothing lacquered about that salmon. It also was shredded on top of the salad and was maybe two ounces. That's ridiculous. Our server wasn't very helpful and not very attentive. I'm sure many people have had great experiences there, but I'm not sure I would take the time to go back.

We split a Club sandwich. The staff were kind enough to plate it separately with a handsome portion of fries for both of us. The sandwich and fries were excellent. Once we moved, the server stopped by to take our drinks order which took a bit longer than it should. When it came to ordering, I asked the server to come back to me as I hadn't made up my mind. After everyone else gave her their order, I had to stop her from leaving so I could tell her what I wanted. I told her that I wanted a french dip sandwich. The orders took forever to be served (the place was not busy) and came out one or two at a time. Instead of a french dip the server thought I said french onion soup. I was the last one to get my food. When I tasted the food, I felt like I was eating a salt lick. Very Salty!!! I only ate half of the sandwich and took the rest home. I will probably end up throwing it out. It has been 3 hours since I ate, and I still have a salty taste in my mouth!! Bad service and bad food! I think the only reason this place stays in business is because it is one of 3 restaurants in Scottsville. Time for the owners to step up their game!!

The first night we ordered the stuffed cod and burgers, along with beers and soft drinks. Everything was fantastic. The food was flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly, and the service was quick and genuinely friendly. We liked it so much that we went back again the same weekend. The second time we had burgers, a club sandwich, fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese, a punch cocktail, a tall beer, and soft drinks -- and once again, everything was spot-on. Consistently great food and great service both times. We went in around 8:00 p.m. the first night, and the staff was cheerful and energetic -- you would have thought they had just started their shifts. That's a huge plus when dining a little later in the evening. Everyone we spoke to said it's a local favorite, and after our experience, we completely understand why. If we had more time in town, we probably would have eaten there a third time. Definitely a must-stop in Lexington!
