Love, love, love this place. This riverside Mexican restaurant is a non-nonsense, "ma & pa" style…read moreplace with tasty Mexican food and yummy (strong) drinks. Tony and I stopped by the other day on the way back from a day of shopping at Woodbury Commons. If you head over to Playa, I recommend sitting outside (if it's good weather) OR in the bar. Karen, the bartender on the night we visited, is amazing! As for food, everyone automatically gets chips and salsa upon arrival (the way it should be). And stand outs for us included the single-layer nachos (we added chicken as our protein), the combo plates, and the fajitas. The sauce on the fajitas was some of the best we'd ever had. I think it must have been árbol chiles and guajillo chiles (?) that gave the dish such a rich, orange color. But our minds were just blown by how good the fajita sauce was. Oh, and we ordered the mixed fajitas (shrimp, beef, and chicken). The combo plate I ordered including a Beef Chile Relleno (yum), a small Been Burrito (yum), and a Chicken Enchilada (yum). OF COURSE it was served with rice and beans (more yum). It just blows my mind why such a combo is hard to find in all of NYC. But, luckily, just a few short miles away, we have Playa Cancun... and we will be returning to this place soon!

After me and girl waited for one hour for a table a kind gentleman donated his table after he felt bad for us sitting on the floor and that's when the nightmare really started happening. For starters we had to hunt down our own waiter (mind you being right smack in the middle of the restaurant) which eventually getting ignored and ghosted us after she took our order and never came back with our entrees we didn't even eat dinner after realizing that it was almost 10 o'clock at night. We will never go back.

The mango chamoy marg is perfection and go down a little too easily. My husband and I ordered chips and guac and shared an order of octopus tacos. We weren't super hungry - just wanted something to snack on with our margs. As always, service was perfect, the food was excellent, and the new space is beautiful! Congrats on the new space !

Craft taqueria was outstanding! I came here after a day of…read morehiking and craving tacos and boy did it delivered. The tacos were deliciously fresh and full of flavors. Ordered Carnitas and steak. The carnitas surprised me with a mix of sweet and savory but all the ingredients truly complemented each other. Fried yucca w garlic aioli was delicious too. The yuca fries were crunchy outside and soft inside just how I like it. As far as drink goes, they have frozen margaritas on the menu. A variety of flavor as well as other cocktails. We ordered mojito waitress comes back saying cant do mojito have no mint. Ordered frozen apple tamarind margarita...have no apple tamarind. Fine I ordered passion fruit. Comes back w margarita on the rocks because they only make the traditional frozen for now. I mean I think these things should be communicated to the server so they can tell us before we order. They were nice enough to not charge me for the passion fruit on the rocks for the inconvenience. That was nice. In the end I did order the tradiobal frozen and it was really good. And strong. Overall this place is great. Their food is really good and the atmosphere is very lively. Nicely decorated as well. Our server was very attentive and bubbly! Plenty of parking

I took the train up one day, but unfortunately I didn't revisit the town for another 17 years. My Mexican House was a random stop that turned out to be great. I've always been into tacos and in recent years gained a nearly dangerous fascination with cemitas, and a result I may have missed out on many great Mexican entrees over the years. In the chuleta a la diabla, the pork chops were perfectly done and the sauce was an awesome incendiary concoction somewhat like mole. The chips were warm and fresh, the salsa was zingy and the service was outstanding.

We immediately ordered four margaritas, which were good, just not the best ones I've ever had. For appetizers we all split the cheese empanadas, which were actually pretty amazing in my opinion. The portions were pretty generous, so all of us were able to have about 1.5 empanadas. The empanadas were served with red and green sauce, the red sauce is SPICY so be aware! For main course, I ordered the vegetarian chimichanga which I LOVED. It was so good and it tasted freshly made. Overall, was very happy with my experience here. Its not the fanciest restaurant but it was perfect for national margarita day!

These the tacos you want, trust me sucka. They travel well which is a game changer. Even good the next day. Double soft shell, just in case you drop anything into a well. Checks all the boxes. Bang for ya Buck in terms of quantity to price. Loads of protein options. Side of guac. Chips. Salsas. Onion bulbs. Cilantro. All made to order. Tortas. Oh man, oh man. Dios Mio, Gracias!!! Me siento picante. It be getting hawtttt in here. Linguini knows Espanol? Linguinis knows all. Remain on your toes in my presence and maybe you'll soak up some of my effervescence. The establishment gives a true authentic experience to those craving authenticity in a world filled with fraud and impurity. This feeling is addicting. It made me posthumously recognize, appreciate and ponder the significance of Taco Tuesday. A day that is synonymous for tounging down some tacos. All ages, all walks of life. But there's a catch. Unlike other rambunctious and weightless modern traditions, this one is synonymous because it's actually followed. So many people actually eat tacos on Tuesdays. It's loony to think about. They've penetrated our minds. Through our eagle eyes, our noble noses and our enigmatic esophagi. Who started Taco Tuesday? Were people eating tacos on Tuesdays prior to the inception of the tradition? Or is it peak marketing strategy. Business Guy. The Four P's... I know them, I live them. Whatever. It's not worth thinking about who'll end it.... For an end isn't in sight. Nor should we wish the end of glory, this life is beautiful in every sense of the word. We are blessed creatures. What do we think about hard shell tacos? Alright, what am I doing. Shameful performance LB. I'll be back stronger than ever soon enough. Stay Sharp Signora/Signor.
