I needed a root canal. There was an infection. It was very painful. Dr Saraf did a great job getting the area numb and explained getting past the first 10 seconds of drilling on a "hot" tooth. He was very patient and understanding through the process. He even stopped and let me up for a minute when he had me completely prepped. I appreciated him talking through the process. He and his assistant did a great job making me as comfortable as possible through the whole thing. Nobody wants to have a root canal and tooth pain is from the pit of hell. Dr Saraf was very thorough, and did a good job on my root canal. But he gave me an xray that circled my head, to make sure there were no underlying problems. I was not informed that there was a 400.00 charge for the xray. I am in excellent health and if informed, I would have declined said xray. I am retired and on medicare with an advantage plan. I am very disappointed with that charge. Did I need that xray? Or did he need to make some money on me at my expense. I should have been informed in advance. I am on a retired person's budget. I am pretty picky, I notice everything, I do not appreciate arrogant people but I also aknowledge excellence, so here's my take on Dr. Saraf. I would not call him friendly, but he is polite. He definitely is not talkative or very interactive, but he did listen and take into account my feelings and input. He moves very quickly, which makes you feel like he's rushing which made me slightly uncomfortable, but he was very efficient and effective And he also did not hurt me (as a big baby I appreciated that). His staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and positive which is good. Nobody had a funky attitude which I appreciate. He said please to his hygienist every single time he asked for something which means he's respectful of other people and their value. He was on time and did not make me wait forever. I did have to wait to get numb but they called me to the back within two minutes of me getting there and he was in the room within three minutes of me sitting down. If I could give zero stars, I would. Went to this office for evaluation with wife and two kids. While my wife was checked, I was staying with kids in a waiting area. The youngest was playing maybe a bit loud at times, but nothing crazy and something you would expect from 3 years old kid. Imagine my surprise when, half an hour after leaving the office, my wife received the following text. "Hello, this is Dr. Saraf's office! Our corporate manager was in the office at the time of your appointments and instructed us to not allow any children that are not patients to wait in the waiting room, as this is policy. Because of this, if your children are brought to the next appointment we will have no other option than to reschedule the appointments to another day when the kids will be able to stay home. My apologies for this inconvenience, please let me know if you need to make any adjustments to your current appointments." If you don't want kids in your office, post the policy on the website, office entrance, and also inform new patients when they book an appointment. As mentioned in several reviews, the doctor is running from one patient to another with little attention to detail. I can't review the actual work done since we canceled all the future appointments. Will never come back to this place again and recommend avoiding it at all costs. If you still want to be serviced there, don't bring kids with you. Otherwise, you might be denied service since this office is not kids friendly. read more

Firstly, I can't express to anyone how bad of pain I was in from my infected root canal. This is by far the worst pain I have ever felt in my life (separated shoulders, broken bones, concussions, rugby injuries... beats them all). Dr. Saraf is one of the best dentists I've had the pleasure of having a root canal conducted from. Here is why: 1) I called his office in with an emergency, he had me come in the same day on a Friday evening at 6 pm, after hours! 2) He saw how much pain I was in and organized a root canal for me the very next morning. 3) During the root canal on the one tooth, he showed me how poorly my other root canal was in the tooth right next to it and how I would be in the same amount of pain or more in the future if I didn't take care of it. 4) Luckily, the appointment right after me canceled and he immediately jumped in and took care of my 2nd poorly done root canal. Yes, I have lots of tooth issues. I'm any dentist's dream client and also their nightmare client because I've had a lot of issues from when I was a child. I would consider myself a dentist expert since I've been under the dentist's light more times than anyone I know. i guess from all the reviews dr. saraf is "potluck". i needed to have two teeth extracted...and since i only use dentists in network and my three insurance companies...top drawer...pay like slot machines and i am 80 and do good to do anything...if my car was a pet it would complain it was neglected!!!! but i do make it to doctors' visits when i am forced to. like a dentist. being handicapped and not knowing how much i will have to pay out...ordinarily nothing...with 3 policies i am very well covered. same with my eyes and i have glaucoma. so my medical doctor just sees me once about every two or three years and i get everything delivered to me. all i ask for outrageous bills is for them to bill the insurance companies. that is the reason i only use network doctors. dr. saraf demanded i pay what he thought was my deductible and then just billed one of my insurance companies. seems to me that is very negligent. all i ask for them to get their money is simply bill the insurance companies they are in network with and that is never free to me...it is not welfare...i pay year in and year out for them to get paid. then they act like they are doing me a favor to bill the insurance company to get their money. give me a break. part of being in network is they are supposed to do the billing to the insurance company. when they say no me...i just work here...i am a humble paid employee...give me a break. i have owned five businesses and i know everything that goes on in my business. today i have heard doctors say...i would never leave a patient in pain. except if they can't pay me up front. this isn't mcdonalds!!!! read more

My experience with Dr. Saraf was great! Root canals are not pleasant, but he definitely made it easier. I was referred to him by my regular dentist, and he squeezed me in at 6pm that day and was able to do a partial root canal. The next day I had a bit of a complication and texted him (he gave me his personal cell# in case I had any issues!) And he had me come in ay 7pm on a Friday! Turns out I had a weird 3rd root in my tooth that was hidden on the xray. He worked on it for probably an hour and a half because it was so complicated. Never even charged me extra for all that extra work. He is very kind and legit seems to care about his patients. It's been 3 weeks now and I have had no issues. read more

DO NOT UDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO HERE!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AT ANY DOCTOR OFFICE. I would give no stars if possible. I never give reviews but I don't want anyone else to have to deal with what I am now dealing with. I went to this office because the office that my dentist usually recommends was undergoing a remodel and was closed. Before I went here I asked the office manager multiple times if my two insurances covered the cost and I was assured multiple times that I would have no cost. My experience was very painful and I felt like just a number, not a person. I felt like they were rushing me in to rush me out. The bedside manor was non existent. I went back to my dentist and said I wouldn't send anyone else there because it was that bad of an experience!! Fast wording to over a year later.... I receive a letter in the mail that I'm in collections for a bill from them. I was never notified or contacted and told that I owed anything! I was assured that there was no cost to me and over a year later sent to collections! I called the office to see what had happened and see if It could be pulled out of collections (so I can pay it if I actually did owe anything) since I was never notified of any balance. From what I could see, my insurances covered everything. The office staff was beyond rude when I called. They said that would look into it and call me back. They never called me back. Two days later I had to call them back and I never got an apology for not calling back or an apology for never contacting me to inform me of my balance. They said that they couldn't help even though they never called me, never texted me, never emailed me, never mailed a letter to notify me that I owed them anything. The first notice I got was a year later from a collections agency. This place is full of rude people who don't do their jobs and will send you to collections with ever letting you know that you owe anything! Save yourself the headache and pull the tooth yourself. I guarantee you'd be in less pain and have a much more pleasant experience. read more

Get any agreements in writing with Cobb Root Canals. They do not honor their verbal agreements. I discovered the hard way that under GA law only written agreements matter. The service provider can make any verbal promise and it does not matter. This is what happened: I visited my regular dentist for persistent tooth pain that was difficult to manage. After x-rays, I was diagnosed as needing two root canals. My dentist recommended Dr. Rahul Saraf of Cobb Root Canals and they made an appointment for me, expecting treatment the same day. Dr. Saraf did not see me. Instead Dr. Hall, who is in the practice, examined me. After a second set of x-rays, they only re-diagnosed and confirmed what was already known from the dental office visit. There was no same-day treatment. Due to the pain, I scheduled an appointment for two root canals a few days later. In the meantime I discovered that only Dr. Saraf is in my dental network - not Dr. Hall who treated me. Again due to pain, I agreed to be treated by, Dr. Hall, otherwise I would have to wait two weeks to see the in-network endodontist, Dr. Saraf. The front office agreed to review and adjust rates so they more closely match the in-network rates. After treatment was performed, they would not honor any part of the agreement. read more

Wish I could give this jerk 0 stars. I was dealing with a needed root canal and it was extremely painful. They said that they'd work me in at the end of the day. My tooth hurt so bad that I couldn't even touch it. He performed the root and it was the most painful experience of my entire life. I've never had a root canal before so I had no clue that this was not normal. I talked later with a dentist friend of mine, and another dentist as well and wa stood that there was no way that I should've had the root canal done on a "hot tooth". You're supposed to be prescribed antibiotics to help the swelling/infection go away and then come back a week later for the root canal. When the tooth is inflamed to the point of serious pain, there is so much swelling that the anesthesia won't work on numbing the nerve. Also, if there is serious pain, the endontist should stop and give more anesthesia to help. This guy just "powered through" at my expense. I have serious trauma now about dental work and hope to find a better place in case I ever need another root canal. I spent $1,900 to basically be tortured because the guy didn't want to give me antibiotics and have me come back a week later. read more

I saw Dr. Saraf yesterday evening for my root canal. It was a difficult one - LOTS of pain. I was scheduled for Thursday morning, but after calling Dr. Saraf's office, I was told to come in that evening. Dr. Saraf stayed late and took care of me when I was going quite mad with the pain. When my daughter was told she needed a root canal, I skipped my dentist's recommendation and called Dr. Saraf, strictly based on my experience with him in 2011. Amazingly, he was able to get her in next day, and then did an incredible job on a frightened teenager. She says she didn't experience any pain once the Novocaine shots were done, and that she's not experiencing pain now that the procedure is over. Dr. Saraf and his staff are absolutely fabulous. My husband is in the process of having two root canals. Dr. Saraf is very efficient and effective. We were able to get a quick and early appointment the first time without a referral. The dentist has always been there and ready for my husband at 7:30 am. We have had to change some appointments times but it has never been a problem. Star and his assistant have been very pleasant to work with. Referral to this practice was a fourth choice due to scheduling constraints of three preferred practices. My experience was horrific. The work was so bad it had to be completely redone by a competent, state of the art endodontic practice. I have always heard that root canals are terrible, but with Dr. Saraf, my procedure was probably one of the best dental experiences I've ever had. Dr. Saraf is a man of few words, but he is personable, knowledgeable, honest, and compassionate. I experienced absolutely no pain during the procedure. My only discomfort was the perfectly placed novocaine shots. His nurse was incredibly attentive, explaining to me what he was doing at different intervals and asking me if I was ok. Dr. Saraf seems to be extremely compassionate. He asked if I felt any pain several times during the procedure. My face did not feel numb, only the area in which he was working. After the numbing wore off, I was only a little bit sore. I did take a few motrin the next day to keep the soreness at bay, but it was really my own fear that I would be in pain that I even did that. I went back the next day for a checkup and everything was fine. Root canals have a bad rap, but with Dr. Saraf, there is absolutely nothing to fear. He is kind and he knows what he is doing. His staff is awesome and they genuinely care. He accepts most major dental insurance. Getting an appointment is easy and fast. Getting called back for my appointment once I arrived was also a speedy process. It helped that I had already downloaded the required forms and filled them out before I arrived. I cannot recommend Dr. Saraf more highly and I am picky when it comes to customer service. read more

This was an exceptionally good experience as root canals go.This was the most easy, pain free procedure I have EVER had done. I have had more painful fillings than this experience. The novocaine was painless and the actual procedure was done very quickly. 40 minutes! The crown remained intact which I worried about . He also was available on a Saturday of a holiday weekend . The price was also very reasonable. I paid almost double his fee for another endodontist and it was a much more painful, long, 2 appointment process. I can't praise him enough! Dr Saraf performed a root canal on my lower rear molar, then reinstalled the crown with temporary cement. While the original root canal procedure went ok, he reinstalled the temporary crown wrong, so it was protruding so that hit first and foremost which threw my bite way off. When I went in for the correction, he wanted to grind my brand new crown down so that it wouldn't hit. The thing is it did not hit before the initial procedure, which I explained. My guess is that he was trying to avoid spending any money. Anyway he had to use Novocaine so that the crown could be removed and reinstalled, which fixed the problem. During the visit he seemed aggravated and was rather rough, even causing me pain in the process. So as long as he is being paid everything is fine, but if there are any issues (even when it's clearly his own doing) he is very poor. read more

After a weekend of horrible pain and an emergency visit to my primary care dentist I was given an antibiotic and told to go get a root canal. Had trouble finding someone that could take me quickly and was surprised when Dr Saraf had at least one availability per day for the entire week. So I thought, "he must not be that good " because others had a month wait list. When I got there I was the only one in wait room. I was ushered back quickly. Turns out his schedule was full and he was an incredible multi tasker. His schedule was on the wall and it was not only full but there were 3 people per hour. While I was there he efficiently worked on me and 2 others. The root canal went quickly, was pain free and not near as unpleasant as I remember it when I had it done at a general dentist. His staff was friendly and while he was pleasant, he was focused and professional but not personable. That's ok because I wasn't there to swap pot roast recipes. Dr. Saraf is the best dentist I have been to in my life. I spent 5 years in the US Navy many years ago as a dental assistant and as a result have been very selective about who I get to treat me. I have always taken good care of my teeth but recently started having a severe toothache (my first). After seeing 2 dentists in Buckhead who recommended extraction and implants I saw another dentist in Kennesaw who prepped my tooth for a crown but said I might need a root canal. After a day it was confirmed and my wife called Dr. Saraf's office. They normally close at 5 but she told them that I would not be able to come in until later. They gave me a 7:00 appointment, staying 2 hours after their normal closing time. Everything about my treatment was completely painless from the injection to the cleaning out of the nerve tissue. Dr. Sarah was caring and efficient. My treatment was completed in about 30 minutes! I would highly recommend Dr. Sarah to anyone needing root canal, just wish I could go to him for all my dental needs!! read more
