To echo what most others have said, the staff indeed acts inconvenienced by customers coming in. It felt really awkward and like we weren't allowed to be in there despite having a reservation. The actual rage rooms are TINY and it's hard to find space to feel like you can safely smash things without hitting the next person (and we were only a group of 4). The prices are absolutely absurd for the very short amount of time and number of things you get to smash. All of that said... this IS much cheaper than therapy and produces the same amount of serotonin, so do whatever you'd like with that information. read more

This business stole my money/committed fraud. I purchased an online gift card and filled out the form to email it to my friend. He never received it, and Rage RVA didn't respond to any of my emails, they didn't answer the phone when I called, and they didn't respond to the complaint I filed with the Better Business Bureau. Quite possibly one of the most amazing places in RVA!! I can not say enough good things. I laughed, I cried, it moved me [bob]! The splatter paint experience was indescribably wonderful and cathartic, not to mention tons of fun. The scream room was intense, emotional, draining, and fan-freaking-tastic! I was so emotionally and physically drained I had to reschedule my wreck session, but I am DEFINITELY going back!! And the folks who own/run it are dear sweet angels. Yep......... what everyone says is true. Don't waste your money here. Very dissatisfied. $65/per person, for 25 minutes with a car, no group discount. We went with a group of 10 people so it was $650. They said the max was 12 people but we were packed in like sardines in there & it felt incredibly unsafe. Most disappointing... the car was beyond smashed when we got in there, the picture I've included was BEFORE we even touched it. So it was more like hitting the car than smashing it since there was nothing left to smash of it. You'll be done within 10 minutes tops, it's unbearably loud & hot. read more

The moment we came in the owner was nasty to us. Complaining how "we were late" when we will had 5 minutes until our appointment time. Everyone got there on time and we geared up. A few minutes later a nice lady told us to come back upstairs to find the owner cussing out my 18 year old friend. Saying "get the f*ck out" , calling her a "b*tch", and more. She complained on too many girls being in one room when we'd called multiple times in advance to make sure it's okay. I have never met a more disrespectful and rude business owner. I took the time to read the other reviews with just one star and I feel a little disappointed because we dealt with the owner just as the others here and she was the sweetest person!! Her and her son. Everyone has a different experience but that woman was sweet as pie!! We didn't meet her wife and maybe that's the owner these other people are referring to but if my review was based on customer service alone, they would have gotten 5 stars from me!! It was a great time! We did the splatter paint and it was just the two of us for that time and it was a really cute activity. The owner let us hook our phone up to the Bluetooth speaker and we were jamming as we painted our masterpieces lol. It's a little pricey for some of their activities but this paint room was pretty reasonable. And it is street parking so you all have to arrive in enough time to park and get there. I booked this rage room as a surprise for my husband's birthday and we were underwhelmed. For the price, you do not get a lot of breakables. We had a small crate of bottles and two small computer monitors for 15 minutes and $110. After about 8 minutes we had broken everything. Before our session started there was glass everywhere from other sessions so we ended up smashing whatever big pieces were left over. We were also in a VERY small space. In the small room with us was a car for the next session that we couldn't touch. The area was so small that me and my husband had to take turns breaking things instead of going all at once and sharing the experience. The staff was not very friendly either and it felt like us being there was inconveniencing them. For $110 this was not worth it. Overall I will not be coming back here and will not recommend to others. read more

This place was a great stress reliever! I arrived with a group of friends and a gift card. I made our appointment online because we wanted to smash & splatter package. Sue was helpful getting us set up! We arrived a little early as indicated online. They helped me make sense of the gift card and pay the remaining balance. If you book/pay in person, just confirm what you purchase. I did notice we didn't get the package as I asked for -- however we were happy with what we got. We did a smash room and a splatter room with paint. Both were fun! I def feel like a kid on the paint room. For both we received an orientation of what we could and could not do. It was super easy, we even were able to play our own music in both. Staff was super helpful and accommodating to our group. A lot of folks who were coming in were frustrated about the service -- but a lot of it was due to not reading the procedures online before visiting. Can't wait to visit again! read more

I understand the negative reviews; I read them before booking but still decided to give it a try for my sons birthday. The idea is cool but the customer service was very lacking and underwhelming which ultimately tainted the overall experience. I wouldn't recommend for a birthday until the overall customer service improves, but a chill day when your expectations aren't too high then this would be fine. read more

Honestly a SCAM. I came here for my birthday with a party of 6. We did the group smash & paid about $420 for 20 minutes. It says online that it includes a car, as well as 5 breakables. When we entered the room the car looked like it had already been destroyed. All the windows were shattered & we were given a crate of glass bottles. I expected more than an already beaten up car, & a crate of glass bottles for "5 breakables"? When we arrived no one welcomed us or said anything for a while. The owner was not friendly in the least bit. The only thing they said was "did you fill out the waiver?" The owner seemed SO annoyed!! The staff only engaged with us when it came to taking our group photos to promote their social media. It was definitely a unique birthday experience, but I would say take your money elsewhere if you are looking for more of an exciting, interactive, & welcoming experience. I hope Rage RVA can take this review as constructive criticism to do better in the future :) read more

This place sucks and scams literally everyone who walks in. My bf and I paid for a car to break and we received one that was already clearly smashed.. not only that, but the room we went in had broken glass pieces all over the floor and our supposed "untouched" vehicle, like someone just was in there and no one cleaned up after the last person. and don't even get me started on the owner. she says she was a chef.. and CLEARLY u can tell she way by how much she likes food. my bf confronted her about the incident and she was just shoving her face with fried chicken and practically ignoring everything we were saying. After my boyfriend finishes talking, she LICKS her fingers, slams her computer shut, and starts cussing us out saying that the car was brand new.. like sis.. the only thing left of the car was the literal frame and ur telling me no one has smashed it before ? The owner needs to take her own advice and maybe purchase a few sessions in a room for herself, because clearly she has some rage issues. I've never been so disrespected in my entire life. the names we were called that day were unbelievable. I cannot believe this "woman" is still able to run this facility... they need a new owner asap! read more

Not worth your money. My BF and I read the bad reviews but disregarded them because rage rooms are hard to come by and we wanted to experience it for ourselves. We had little expectations yet were still seriously disappointed. Throwing glass bottles was fun but there was only one crate full so it went fast between us two. Worth every penny my husband paid for me to unleash my anger. No doubt 2020 has been a tough year. My mental health began to decline and my husband saw how bad things were. I'd punch holes in doors out of frustration. This was the best birthday gift he's ever given me. He made a playlist of all heavy metal songs I love that would give me the energy for bashing things up. The facility is super clean. They have your choice of weaponry: golf clubs, baseball bats and sledgehammers. They have coveralls from size small up to 4x (I believe). I spoke with the owner and she mentioned they get 2 fresh cars every 2 weeks. I also asked if they take donations of items to break. She said yes especially electronics like: laptops, printers, boom boxes etc. I've already filled a container of 3 laptops, glassware and a boom box to donate soon. They sanitize between each session. You are given a face shield and it's adjustable to your head. I definitely recommend making a playlist and playing it on their Bluetooth speaker! Thanks again! read more

I was disappointed with every aspect of this business from beginning to end. Booking was miserable! Building and materials are grossI realize that it's somewhere you go to tear up stuff but, it looked like everything was destroyed before they got started. Put in a room with two crates, one with empty beer bottles, one with 3 computer screen... 3 17yo boys... took about 8 minutes and it was over and I requested more and was told that they couldn't do that. it's grossly overpriced and staff completely unmotivated. My experience at this establishment was beyond disappointing. Especially considering I booked weeks in advance as a surprise for my boyfriend. I was beyond excited for the surprise and felt like I was going to hit this one out of the park. Fast forward to the day of our reservation, we are having trouble parking and are unfortunately running late (I have great luck) . I tried calling them to inform them of our dilemma, but they did not answer the phone. So we're frantically racing to get there and recognize/acknowledge that we messed up and might have cost us our 20 minute time slot. We walk into the door apologizing profusely and are only met with a cold stare, followed by a snarky "can I help you?" and "there's a thing called a phone." Yeah no s**t, we tried that lady. As this point I was completely taken aback and speechless. My boyfriend (the most kind and patient person ever) stays calm and asks if there's anything we can do (go in for the remaining 10 minutes, re-schedule, refund, etc). She huffs and puffs making a huge deal that we are not only stealing 1 time-slot, but now, 2 time-slots if we re-scheduled. On the verge of tears, I had had enough and grabbed my boyfriend to leave. There goes over $100 down the drain into this evil owners pocket; turning what would have been a great surprise into quite a depressing day. Moral of the story, we were't upset with the fact that we were late and understand that they are busy and run a tight schedule. We knew that it probably wasn't going to happen walking into the door. That's not what prompted us to write this review. What prompted this was the behavior and horrific customer service. I have never been treated or spoken to in such a dismissive, demeaning, and disgusting manner. Please think twice before supporting this business. We did the SplatterRVA splatter painting package and had a blast! The activity was so much more exciting and enjoyable than expected and 25 minutes was a lot of time! Enough time to rework my painting multiple times before my final piece. We were able to get messy and let loose. The facilitator was so kind and helpful. The materials were high quality and well-thought out to be inclusive and accessible to a variety of ages. This would be a great family activity or a more chill alternative to unleash. read more

Horrible experience. I bought my 12 year son a $100 gift card for Christmas. He was SO excited, but he had to wait a few months to use it because you have to be 13 years old. When he turned 13, I purchased a package that included a vehicle & 12 breakables and I added on 12 additional breakable and electronic items. The total cost was $160. The day of our reservation, we arrived early, walked inside and the owner was vacuuming and didn't even acknowledge us. When she finally did, I told her my son and his friend had a reservation, and she looked at them and yelled "THEY'RE NOT OLD ENOUGH!" I explained that they were both 13 which is why we had to wait a few months to use our gift card. Then she yelled at them to get into the coveralls and at me to fill out the waiver. She was extremely rude. Before the boys went back, I asked if there was a viewing window. She said no, they were going to be in a room with no windows so I would not be able to watch them. I asked the young guy that was going to be taking them back if he would take my phone and get a few pictures for me. The guy agreed, explained the rules and took some pictures. When the boys were done, they came out and said they had fun! The owner continued to be rude and didn't even say goodbye when we left. When we got outside, my son asked me which add-ons I purchased because they were only given a car that was already completely smashed up and 12 breakables. They were not given any of the additional add-ons that I paid for. We turned around to go back inside so I could show the owner my receipt only to find that the door had been locked! The business was still open for another couple of hours so I was confused as to why the door would be locked. I called a couple times and nobody answered. At this point my son realized that there was a mail slot so he stuck his hand inside and unlocked the door because I wanted to talk to the owner since she did not give us everything we paid for and was clearly avoiding us. The owner was nowhere to be found. After a few minutes, she stormed out. I was very nice and I pulled up my receipt on my phone to show her that we didn't receive any of the additional add-ons we paid for. She opened up her computer then all of a sudden slammed it shut and started SCREAMING at my son and his friend saying that they were "entitled little shits" and that when they smashed the car, there was a bottle of glue that was left in the car and glue got all over the floor. She also said that there were obituary papers in the car and that they were "disrespectful brats" because they destroyed the papers. I was speechless because anything that was of sentimental value or that wasn't meant to be destroyed should have been removed from the room prior to the session . Plus what 13-year-old boy (at a rage room) is going to pick up the papers and start reading them and say "oh, this is an obituary paper, I probably shouldn't destroy it"!!?? My son and his friend were NEVER told by the guy who explained the rules that they couldn't destroy anything that was inside of the car so they assumed it was all fair game. The owner then proceeded to scream in our faces and was very vulgar. She kept calling them "fucking entitled brats" and screamed at us to "get the fuck out". She then followed us out the door and was screaming at us from from the front porch of her building going on and on about how disrespectful the kids were because they ripped up the obituaries that were in the car THAT WE PAID FOR THEM TO DESTROY! She refused to give us our money back for the items we didn't receive and started charging at my 13 year old when he asked why she was ripping us off! I almost had to call police because we were so afraid that this woman. Her behavior was appalling and so out of our control. I'm absolutely stunned that we were treated the way we were in a place of business when we did not do anything wrong! I went in there and tried to be as nice as possible and settle it in a calm manner. I honestly think she was mad that she got caught trying to rip us off and chose to go ballistic in hopes that we would just leave. I see why this woman runs a rage room because she clearly has severe rage issues. I will never go back there again and I am still in shock at how we were treated. Since she never gave me a refund, I had to call my credit card company and dispute the charge. Even though we were treated SO horribly, I took the high road and didn't even dispute the whole amount. I only disputed the amount for the add ons that we never received. From what I've heard, I'm not the only person who has been treated this way by the owner of this business. Absolutely unbelievable! And if the owner tries to deny her behavior, I have the whole incident on video and would be happy to share it on social media and with the local news channels :) read more

My family just experience a very unexpected and sudden loss of one of the most influential men we have ever known. We decided to come to this establishment because some of us deal with our emotions better through aggression. The lack of professionalism and disrespect that we were departed with is unheard of for any business. We were yelled and and cussed at because of the lack of communication on behalf of their staff about some tires. And although we paid almost 400 for us to be there the fact that some air was let out of the tired of a car that was nearly demolished when we got in there is uncalled for and unheard of. If you or your family has experienced loss and you think this place is right for you to release please don't go there the "owner " will have you leaving more upset then when you arrived!!! read more

I had an appointment at 1:50 was driving around looking for a spot to park near the building. I couldn't find the building. Looked at google maps, while driving in the city. I pulled over called asked if there was a good place to park and the lady informed me I lost my time slot. I said ok, I'm right here and trying to find parking. She said I'm sorry you are late. I asked if I could get a. Voucher to come back she said no. So 75$ for 10 mins for 2 people she just kept it. Nothing. You get nothing! The outrageous prices and if you miss your appointment you get a rude lady who claims she's the owner and laughs at your stress. That you are coming to get rid of. Cool read more

We purchased the "unleashed" package which had the ability to smash up a car and a few extra breakables such as mugs and whatnot. I've gone here in the past and the car we received to smash had the option of smashing basically half of an untouched car. This time we received a car that was completely smashed already, no windows remained and the entire car was already completely dented so every blow that we landed made no difference, it was ridiculous we might as well have just hit a steel pole with a sledgehammer, it basically had the same impact. They also changed locations from a small storage unit that had its own parking lot to a building just off of Cary street with awful street parking as well, when they tell you to come 15 minutes early its basically so you have time to find street parking. I was very disappointed with this experience and will unfortunately not be returning or recommending this location to anyone. read more
