This place is the Spot! I came here for a work event and we made glass pumpkins (it's definitely…read morenot inexpensive but was a great experience). Everyone had a really great time picking their colors and doing the glass blowing. The pumpkins came out really great and the pickup process was super easy! My one complaint would be that we were such a large group (we had 2 groups back to back) and I was in the 2nd group- you could tell the staff got tired (very understandable since they had to make 20+ pumpkins) and they didn't do a great job explaining the process ahead of time. On the upside, they were great about talking you through it in the moment. It was pretty dummy proof since the staff did most of the process for you, I don't think I can say I actually did "glass blowing" which I think is fine. Overall, would recommend this for events (but maybe smaller groups) and the staff is really skilled. They have a shop up front which I would recommend checking out!

Then, I simply wished them Happy Holidays again and got. LOL. How unprofessional and disappointed as we have been there at least 5 times as a group. Too bad that this is how they choose to respond as some of our ladies are having hard time this time of year. ______________________________________________________________________________ From: THE GLASS SPOT Sent: Saturday, November 30, 2024 8:40 AM To: Subject: Re: Jan 2025 Drinking Glasses - Private Session Lol! ______________________________________________________________________________ On Sat, Nov 30, 2024, 8:38AM wrote: Have a great holiday. _______________________________________________________________________________ From: THE GLASS SPOT Sent: Friday, November 29, 2024 10:25 PM To: Subject: Re: Jan 2025 Drinking Glasses - Private Session Wow. _________________________________________________________________________________ From me- On Fri, Nov 29, 2024, 4:51PM wrote: Thanks, they decided that it was too expensive but thanks for reaching out. Can't say enough positive things about the Visual Arts Center (VAC) of Richmond!…read more One, they have free parking in the back for patrons! I could end the review there but I will continue. My partner and I checked out the VAC for one of their Second Friday Art Classes. They offer $15 dollar art classes on the second friday of each month making strides in making art accessible. We ended up doing an air dry clay workshop which was extremely fun (you can see our amazing creations in the photos). Our instructor was kind and taught us some really amazing tips. While we waited for our class to start we roamed around and checked out their exhibits. This is a stunning place to view some art work, so many talented artists pieces are on display, you won't get bored here. We even got to learn about our next date night by examining the community board. The VAC of Richmond is an amazing example of community, learning and wonder. Can't wait to return for my next art class adventure!

The lessons are scaffolded so you build on your skills with each project, adding a new skill while incorporating what you have learned so far. She is encouraging and will tell you "nice job!" making you feel like a pro when you're not....but you'll be a whole lot closer under her tutelage. She is awesome. Everyone I talked to at the center is super nice and they offer a wealth of classes, many with various levels so you can build on your skills or just a one day class to do something fun and bring a project home. I like to learn and I like to meet new people and I so much enjoy being here. I just hate the parking since I am not a city dweller (lol!) and there is always someone waiting to lay in on their horn if you don't move fast enough. Oh well. There is some parking available in a lot if you get there early enough. I am sooooo wanting to take every class here!! You should too.

Monet Immersive Experience in Richmond We have been to a few…read moreof these immersive art experiences. They are actually really good and a great experience. You learn about the artist the time period and the art. This experience starts with a self guided tour through an area with props where you can take photos then moves you to an area to learn the history and timeline of Monet. It includes a short film to orientate the viewer. Next you move to a room with many replicas of Monet's works set in a time period that matches decor of that period. Moving on you next enter a room that is a small copy of the famed Lilly pond from Monet's home and featured in many of his paintings. Then you enter the immersive part - a large room where his art is showcased projected on two story walls and the floor and constantly moving. There are plenty of seats and benches to sit and enjoy the colors and art. I did feel like the lighting was too bright from above and took away from the color of the projections- maybe a onetime mistake - but the overhead lights need to be dimmer and the room darker- thus my 4 star rating. We viewed it twice and it was very enjoyable. Next you leave the gallery to a VR room -for a small fee you can watch a VR session of the time period- definitely worth it. You want to do this. That's the grand Finale- everything is relaxed and at your own pace to enjoy. Afterwards you exit into the gift shop where you pickup some memorable stuff- prices are reasonable. iMO. It was a good experience worth seeing. Check it out if you can.

I would begin with your picture taken against a green background that would be used to put different Monet paintings at the end for purchase. There's a spot where you could have other pictures taken with some props like hat, cane, parasol, etc. Next will be timeline and some bits of Monet biography. You'll learn about some art principles behind impressionism. A brief video about his life is also played. Another section is filled with replica of his works. The next part is a model of Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies where you could cross the small bridge and have your picture taken there. The next room is a huge room where you could sit/recline to see his works being flashed going around on the walls. After this, for some additional fee, you could do the virtual reality part where you will be immersed in his works as if you are going to different places that were relevant to him and his work. I enjoyed this and thought it was cool. You can then proceed to the art area where you can color Monet art and have them scanned. The gift shop is there too where you can check out your photo. There's also a screen where you can have your picture taken and it will transform your image into a Monet style of painting. Overall, I thought there were more things and more interactive stuff at the Van Gogh Immersive Experience than this one. Nevertheless, I did enjoy since there was virtual reality too which was not available when I saw Van Gogh 2 years ago.
