From our very first class, we could tell this was a truly special place. The instructors are incredibly energetic, encouraging, and genuinely invested in every child. It's obvious that the students love being there, and it's amazing to see the confidence, pride, and sense of accomplishment they develop. At first, I was a little intimidated by the size of the classes and the fact that the more experienced students help teach the newer ones. It didn't take long to realize that's one of the things that makes this program so unique. The mentorship creates a supportive environment where everyone learns from one another, and the older students develop leadership skills while helping the younger ones succeed. Active does an exceptional job of blending respect, discipline, and confidence-building into a fun, positive, and welcoming atmosphere. I would wholeheartedly recommend Active to any family looking for an outstanding martial arts program for their child.

One month in to the new Summit Everett so it's time for a review!…read more First off I'd like to say that I am very happy Summit Everett is here and I'll be continuing my membership with them for the foreseeable future. Opening a rock gym in downtown Everett is not an easy venture and it's very cool that it exists. The facility is very nice. It is clean, well lit, in good order and with 24hr access it's got all the right stuff to make a gym attractive. Whether you are climbing or using the regular weights and treadmill its a very good space. Since their move they transitioned to just bouldering from both bouldering and top rope and I think this was a good move. It makes the walls in the gym more accessible to everyone and can introduce more people to climbing. I won't call bouldering an intro to top rope like some folks but it is easier to get into and I think this switch was the right move. So what could be improved? A quick note about me so you can tell where I'm coming from. I'm at Summit for the rock walls and haven't used the weights or tread mills. I'm a climber since I was young and have an ankle handicap since birth. This means I'm about a 5.12-/v5 climber and won't excel too much beyond that. Including Summit Everett I have climbed four gyms in the PNW both bouldering and ropes and those skill levels are pretty consistent. At Summit I cap at a v4, somewhere between their yellow and blue bands. Summit sets hard. This makes it a very difficult place for beginners. The Vermin scale has a lot of wiggle room so it isn't that they aren't setting according to scale it's that within the scale they set about as hard as they can. You will not find a VB route here. If you are coming from anywhere else in the area kick your climbing level down a notch. My experience is that Summit is also largely a test of physical prowess. Technique and problems solving are not as stressed. The routes meet their difficulty level based on whether you have the strength for a dynamic movement, can grip a hold, or have the reach to progress. I have yet to fail to complete a route at because I didn't think through it correctly or didn't have the technique. These challenges are as important to a skilled climber as the raw physical. Lastly, more wall space. The more options to climb the better. The weekly updates are good but more options would be awesome. This is a big ask for the recently reopened gym so I realize this likely isn't something that can be quickly fixed but I wanted to put it out there because I think it would be very beneficial. Overall, I'm very happy that. Summit Everett is here and I'm looking forward to my time there and seeing the gym grow! Thank you Summit!

WBI not only teaches an outstanding baseball curriculum, they also focus on player development which is just as important in my opinion. You only get out what you put in & WBI teaches kids that with hard work and discipline, anything is possible. My son joined WBI last fall and his growth these past few months is unreal! He thoroughly enjoys every minute spent at WBI and is so pleased to see how his hard work is paying off! The drive, dedication, and discipline Coach Granich models is phenomenal. It's one thing to be an amazing coach but it's another thing to be a fantastic all-around role model. My son looks up to Coach Granich. The phenomenal values taught at WBI will help mold these young men into outstanding adults well past their years of playing baseball and to me that is priceless!

We enjoyed the expansive family changing areas, different and a great surprise. Lockers are available, too for use while swimming in the large pool. The pool was separated in half. One half was composed of four lap lanes; good signage for those wishing to swim slow, medium or fast. The second half was also split in half, creating two smaller, square pools, one shallow (2-4 feet) the other deeper (4-5 feet). The shallow side held a water structure, shaped like a mushroom, that showered upon the kids splashing and playing in the area. (To turn this feature on, a lifeguard must be notified.) In order to be free to swim in the deep end (where there is a tube slide, which wasn't in use during our visit), one must prove to the lifeguards competency and skill - jump far enough in to hold your head underwater, swim the length of the pool without resting or stopping, and float or tread water for 30 seconds. This is a great tool for encouraging up-coming swimmers, as well as keeping people safe. Well done! After our swim session, our friends gave us a little tour of the class spaces, gymnasium, workout machines, free coffee/tea/hot cocoa, and kids/teen play and hang out spaces. It's a great facility and we look forward to coming back!

Once all 3 core machines where broken and one of the massage chairs has been broken for almost a month. The cleaning stations are almost always broken. They do an ok job of cleaning as well. Often dust around the machines and near walls. Part of the issue is the staff. There is one woman who works there who is super friendly and helpful the rest of the staff seem very disengaged. They just hover around the desk all day and don't do anything. It would be nice to see them help correct some of the bad behaviors that happen. It's pretty good value, especially for families or if you want certain facilities, like the swimming pool. For a single person, there may be better options; but I do like coming here for the classes and workouts, and swimming in the warmer months. The staff are kind, it's a good mix of ages, shapes, colors and backgrounds of the other members which is cool because our family is mixed race. However, I sorely wish the staff would monitor members cleaning up after themselves more thoroughly. I maybe see one person a week wipe down their equipment after use which I find disrespectful. I hate complaining and have learned just to pre-clean and post clean everything I use but I feel like a better job could be done managing this issue if it were something staff cared about. Perhaps it's just me... The price for myself and my husband is $116 per month and while I know there are scholarships for folks per income needs- I would love to see children under certain ages be able to be added for free- it would be so nice to have access to childcare without having to add our daughter for a full price. My husband also just uses the pool and I would love to see pricing reflect this, for example, could folks just sign up for a pool pass? It's likely we just need to find somewhere else for him to swim so I can quit complaining.

I needed two rackets strung and I called Tennis Center Sand Point for a quote. I talked to the receptionist and she said she'll transfer me to the Pro Shop. I waited on the phone and I was left with a voice message saying the voicemail inbox was full. Ok, no problem, I called again and same receptionist picked up. I was then transferred again, and someone picked up...from the Tennis Center cafe. Er, what? I called a third time and was finally transferred to the Pro shop. I asked them for their prices and it was a bit steep in the price (which by all means is fine - I'm not arguing against their policy.) I wanted to ask another question and thanked them for the quote, and in the middle of my sentence, the guy in the Pro Shop, with the most monotone and rude voice, interrupted me and just said: "Have a nice day" and hung up on me. The nerve. Customer service just flew out the door. This interaction itself single-handedly made my decision to NOT go to Sand Point to get my rackets strung. Sand Point, you just lost a potential customer. And from all the 1-star reviews, this is not an isolated incident. From the rudeness to overall incompetency, I will be looking elsewhere to get my tennis needs met.

There is also a pro shop, which seems to have gotten some mixed reviews, but I haven't had any issues with them and the quality of the string jobs tends to be better than Avanti Sports.
