The staff showed no effort in answering even the simplest yes-or-no question," How can I enroll my daughter in your establishment" and asked us to leave because "parents aren't allowed." I'm certainly not going to leave my daughter in a place she's never been, with people I don't know. If that's the attitude they teach, I'd rather look elsewhere.

I have been part of White Tiger Martial Arts for about 7 years now and consider myself fortunate to train with Master Yoo. They run an amazing TKD program which is great for children and adults needing some good physical and mental discipline along with very important self-defense skills. Personally, it has helped me with the mind-body unification and to develop strength, technique and self confidence. Over the period of time I have learned to apply it to all other aspects of my life as well. Both Master and Mrs Yoo are amazing and have this great ability to connect with their students. It shows that they care. Couldn't have asked for better instructors. Master Yoo is stern yet kind and playful. He brings out your best in the class. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a great martial arts training, it's a fun place for families to do TKD together.

I have been going here for awhile now…read more If you want to learn BJJ GI/NOGI/Street, a form of Boxing that emphasizes self preservation first, Yoga, Kettlebells, or just want to gain increased mobility used in other sports you need to give this gym a try. No need to pick and choose, you get it all for one reasonable price, they have morning and evening classes, and they also have kids and young adults programs. The instructors/owners are great people, will work with anyone, regardless of skill or fitness level. A lot of people I recommend this gym to are intimidated, especially about the boxing, but please don't be, they don't break people here, they train them. They start you out slow, and only add pressure as you get better, and you will get better! You only go as hard as you want to, and free form sparring is optional, and only after you get good enough to defend yourself. The BJJ is not oriented towards competition, though they will help you with that if it's your goal. They do GI, No-GI, and Street Jits/CMD/Etc on Saturdays. We have young guys and a lot of older guys as well. FYI The lineage is Machdo -- King -- Kolesar Even if your just into it for fitness you have to give it a try, you have never worked out until you have boxed, done a round of BJJ rolling, or hit the kettle bells. These are phenomenal cardio and muscular endurance work outs. Women and Men are pretty much in every class, it's a tribe and an extended family, everyone watches out for you, no meatheads, no crazies, give it a try. Finally don't wait to get fit, instead get fit while learning some valuable self preservation life skills!

Should have written this review much sooner. This place is incredible. Got both my daughter(8) and…read moreson(13) in to boxing and they absolutely love it. Best work out guaranteed! No such thing as too young for boxing. Best thing about the youngest group class is high demand for discipline. Eric(one of the trainers and owner) is great with young ones, but also strict. Besides boxing you have option to do jujitsu, self-defense and kettle bells. All of that included in your monthly membership fee. Technically you can attend every day if one wants to. I will be joining my kids soon. It's a great place for the whole family.

Our daughter started High School this year and is out more often without adults, which isn't ideal…read morebut the reality for her age group. The city isn't exactly safe and with a severe lack of police to protect us, we needed to make sure our daughter can handle herself if she finds herself in an unfortunate situation. It was extremely important to us that she learn how to defend herself so I started searching for self defense coaches and classes. I brought her to a few that taught her how to de-escalate but they didn't teach her how to fight if she needs to, which is more likely than someone jumping you on the streets to have a conversation. The martial arts classes at the chain agencies were ok, but classes were super large and took forever to learn even one defense move if presented with a dangerous situation and they are more geared toward competitions; for us the cost wasn't worth it. I finally found Bill who she (and I with her) has been training with for a few months now. He provides us with real life skills and training for real life situations and survival. He's an expert at what he does and straight forward, which is greatly appreciated. I have the utmost confidence in his training and love to see my daughter's continued improvement and increased confidence every time we have lessons. I can't wait for the day that she is as good at defending herself as his own daughters are. He's simply the best and worth every penny. Highly recommended, 100%.

But, my 5'2" 120lb daughter with special needs is leaving for her first year of college in September. I needed results - yesterday! After viewing the top 10 self defense trainers on Yelp, the reviews helped my find Bill. I wanted simple, easy to learn, effective tactics to help a very small person defend themselves against a larger attacker (which is most people). My daughter and I signed up for his 2-hour class. He taught us the moves and how to train with each other to make those moves muscle memory. He is professional, knowledgeable, kind and great with patiently instructing those who need a bit of extra help understanding the postures and moves. We had a great time during his lesson :-) I would give 6 stars if possible. Thank you Bill!!!

I joined CCMA about 2 months ago on the plan for 2 days a week and I gotta say that it is great…read more It is a boxing gym which may shy a few people away but they are completely accommodating to the level that you are striving for. Some guys are going for competitions, but primarily there are guys and girls who want to to have fun learning some boxing (or kickboxing) skills, and they want a killer workout which CCMA definitely provides. I have had gym memberships for years and would quit every so often mostly because I would get bored and there was nothing really motivating me to keep going. This gym is not like that. Everyone in the class runs through drills and exercises for teh hour and fifteen minute classes and it is up to the individual how hard they want to work. I have lost about 12lbs in 2-1/2 months though and that is only going 2 days a week. There are classes every day of the week at different times to accommodate different schedules and they are really good about keeping you motivated and taking time to show you the proper techniques. Everyone in the classes are really cool and down to earth. They also range in age and ability levels so it is fun to work with some of the better people because they also can act as mentors and teach technique. The only reason that the gym did not get 5 stars in my eyes was that I think a few people would be turned off by the facility and the parking. They could probably use new carpeting but the actual gym equipment is great and they have everything that you need to get started. The parking is a little tough and some nights there are no spots. Otherwise, the gym is amazing and has a way more personal feel than any class you will ever get at a big gym. If someone decides to join this gym and has the idea that they want to get in shape, you will not be disappointed. Mark and his trainers will definitely do the trick. It is definitely worth checking out especially for most of us that are bored out of our minds with a regular gym.
