Dr. Gottenger is an artist. I came to him with no hopes after my original surgeon told me that I had no choice but to stay with my hard fake implants and muscle animation for the reason that I had delay reconstruction due to breast cancer. I stay with no hopes for two years. after two years of not doing anything about it because I did knew that my case was hard, I waited two years to do breast reconstruction and I knew that it was not going to be easy for me to end up with a nice natural looking breast again. Thank God I met a girl who had a double mastectomy and when I saw her breast I couldn't believe what a great job this girl had done on her. I asked her who was her surgeon and she recomended Dr. Gottenger and told me he was amazing. I made an appointment with him right away , but of course I was not too optimistic because I already had a bad experience and also lost all my hopes based on my case. When I went to Dr. Gottenger appointment I was very nervous and had so many questions that I was afraid to even ask because I had so much in mind. His staff are very informative, very nice girls... I was really amazed how nice everyone in that office is. When I met Dr. Gottenger I felt I he was this compassionate person, very attentive and relaxed human being. I explained to him that I did had late reconstruction, so he examined me right away. I asked him many questions that I wrote down for him. He looked very positive and optimist about fixing me, which I was very surprised by that since I went there with no hope. He dedicated so much time explaining to me and showing me the different implants that would be great for my case, I never had that with any other surgeon. He was showing me different sizes , type of implants and going in details with every single question I had, but at the end always listening to what exactly I was looking for. He never looked that he was annoyed or in a rush... he was talking to me like a friend would do. I left that office very happy, it was like a dream come true to me. A week before my surgery I found my self with other questions that I wanted to clarified. I scheduled another appointment with him and there he answered every question I had and always with a great attitude, which I loved that because that is so hard to find now days with a doctor. A doctor that doesn't rush you out of the office when you are asking too many questions is gold. After my surgery I was still very nervous to see the outcome. All I can say that I couldn't be more happy. Dr. Gottenger changed my life. Gave me confidence again, which I had no hope for. My breast look so natural, moves natural, feels natural. I just got breast surgery with him. I got an online appointment in May 2020 during the pandemic and he was very polite, informative, and easy to understand. Since it was Pandemic time I didn't want to get any surgeries at that time. after months I decided to start visitor in and getting a consultation on different doctors but honestly, I saw 5 doctors and Dr. Gottenger was the only one who taught me what should I get, proposed me different treatment plans, his assistant was super active and attentive able to answer any question or via email. therefore after seeing different doctors this one was the only one I liked. after more months It was the time I decided to get surgery since I needed someone to help me out with the post-surgery so I knew my mom was coming for Christmas and emailed them to see if I could get surgery and they were so great I a short period. They gave me the last consultation, we communicate all the things and how the surgery will be, and lastly, I got surgery last Friday and I'm feeling amazing. I took my sister to this doctor and wasted 3 precious hours driving there and consulting about a surgery that she wants. I dropped her up and picked her up not long after she was upset and disappointed she continued to tell me he walked in with a nasty look on his face , negative and extremely arrogant. It's not the fact that he said that surgery couldn't be don't but his total demeanor and rudeness. And by the way I have researched for her excellent doctors who a) perform this kind of surgery with great results and b) are professional what he should have said is " I am not qualified enough to perform it. Dr. Gottenger is more than amazing. He cares intensely for his patients and goes beyond anything to take of them and to perfect his work. The girls in his office are so nice and always accomodating even though they are under immense pressure to please both client and doctor. He took care of my mother after a double mastectomy and multiple surgeries after implant rejection. He was always willing to work after hours and weekends to ensure her health was priority. His intense focus on his patients' health sometimes can be off putting, but this stems from his focus on providing the best outcome for each individual patient. I had a double mastectomy (with another Breast Oncology surgeon) in Oct 2018, and Dr Gottenger did the reconstruction surgery at the same time. Going through this process was a very hard one from diagnosis to post-surgery. Dr Gottenger not only did a wonderful surgery, but he worked and communicated very well with the Breast Oncology Team I had. His in-house team is extremely efficient and they are all very caring and compassionate. I had questions over the weekend post-surgery and he replied immediately to all my concerns via e-mail. I recommend Dr Gottenger as the best reconstructive surgeon of miami !!! For Me He did a Miracle! From almost 600cc to 385cc of breast implants with an amazing reconstruction.
