I am a snowbird from WV. Khouri dermatology did a surgery on my leg for a squamous lesion in 2010. I had a biopsy done late in 2009 in December in WV. My good doctor Joe Ferguson found Khouri for me. I've had great treatment there. I've been going back for other skin lesion treatments ever since. Dr. Gutierrez works with my dermatologist in WV to corindinate my treatments. She gets you in for scheduled aggressive treatments of stubborn skin ailments. They get results. 5 stars read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE service both from front desk AND physicians. Made an appointment back in May, come to my appointment in June just to find out the appointment was never scheduled but a chart was created with my information. Was told I would need to wait TWO HOURS before seeing a doctor. Luckily (I thought) the front desk in the first floor was willing to help me and have me see a different doctor. I was taken in after some wait time to see PA Rene A. Valiente, he took one look at me without first examining or asking me prior medical history and immediately wanted to charge me an outrageous amount for a procedure he doesn't consider medical, therefore not allowing me to use my in network insurance. This place is shameful, disorganized, and clearly more focused on profit than patient care. read more

I saw Dr. Hernandez and if I could give it less than one star I would. I came in with (what I know now is an autoimmune flare-up) and he kept insisting that I must've just been in contact with a weird plant. When I told him I'd been no where near plants and could he try to figure out what else it could be he told me "oh all my patients say that" so..maybe..listen to them?? He also didn't stitch the incision site when he performed a biopsy so it scarred. So yeah come here only if you love sub-par medical care by sexist old men and being ignored and invalidated about your own body and symptoms!! read more

I complained about my last visit when I first got in a room with the assistant. At my previous visit I had asked to have a "full body check". The person doing the check giggled and rolled her eyes at my request (2 other employees in the room at the time of them coming into the room). At my last 3 dermatologist I've been to they check your arms, legs and face, visible areas. I've had one dermatologist that I would give a 5 rating every visit. Their job is to check your skin! AVOID! RUDE STAFF AND YOU'LL WAIT ALL DAY. After waiting 40 minutes for an initial appointment and needing to reschedule because I had to go to work, I made an even earlier replacement appointment (10 minutes after they open). After waiting again for 20 minutes, I was told it would be another 15 minutes. When I said I need to cancel because I have to go to work, the person at the desk just shrugged and said "whatever." Key Largo office. Doctor if you can call him that was RENE. I was treated like it was a cattle call. No one had any personality, I felt rushed. What the doctor said I knew was wrong. I went to a family doctor after this visit and he told me the diagnosis was wrong and to NOT take any of the meds prescribed. Unfortunately, my experience at the Coral Gables location has not been great despite my multiple emails to the office manager sharing my concerns and detailing the lack of professionalism. There are so many things wrong with this practice. If you are looking for a dermatologist in the Miami area, I strongly advise you to continue researching. I would not recommend this place to my friends or family. Most of the receptionists are rude, it's impossible to get a call back, there is a language barrier for those who do not speak Spanish, the medical care team is mostly focused on getting in and out of the exam room as quick as possible, without allowing adequate time for Q&A. Had to do a work clearance form because the provider I was assigned to didn't know anything about psoriasis. It was unfair to be singled out and treated like I have a contagious disease because of my psoriasis. The Physician Assistant Rene Valiente at the Miami Dermatology Center listened to my concerns and made some recommendations for me to try to help my flare ups due to stress. He validated that the person I had been assigned to needed more education on psoriasis and that it's attitudes like the person who said those things to me are the cause of my stress and even more flare ups. I felt like during that visit they cared about me and acknowledged my concerns and helped me find something that will help me. I highly recommend this clinic. Thank you. read more

I have seen several Dermatologists from Miami up to Broward and for 7 years my problem persisted. I finally saw Dr. Leal-Khouri and within 1 month my problem had almost gone away. The way she described my skin was totally different and her advise was totally different so at first I was skeptical. But she was right. I loved her location. It was clean and very professional. My impression was that she uses only the latest technologies. My wait time was normal. I wouldn't expect anything less from such a popular doctor. I can't speak for all of the services at this office, but my experience here with acne treatment--specifically with Accutane and through the iPledge program--has been borderline nightmarish. For other treatments, I'm sure this office is fine, but the disorganization, poor communication, and general ineptitude of the staff regarding the program and medication led me to at least warn anyone coming here for the same reasons to go somewhere else. I acknowledge that were a couple complications specific to my case, but again, the overall lack of familiarity with the program and seeming lack of concern for my actual treatment led to one of the most frustrating healthcare experiences through which I've ever been. All the staff were super nice when in office or when on the phone, but for example, when a doctor writes a prescription for half as much medication as I've gotten every other month, it points to a much bigger issue of either disorganization or lacking any real concern for patient well-being. I ultimately ended up without my medication for an additional week solely due to disorganization on their end, and might end up missing an extra two weeks in the next month. Also--the office doesn't have a voicemail option, so I spent way longer trying to get in contact and being put on hold than a patient should ever have to. Wasted two hours waiting for an appointment. I had called and scheduled over the phone but they had no record of my appointment. All i needed was to renew prescription for Acne. consultation would have been 5 minutes write out to prescription and send to pharmacy. Finally walked out even after secretary kept telling me for an hour that i was next. Wasted my morning. They blamed it on the hurricane but they did not have my appointment in the system that means that someone screwed up. Unprofessional staff. Very unorganized. I walked in 10 minutes early to my appointment and saw 2 sign in books: 1 said Miami dermatology and the other looked like a stationary book I had when I was 5. I signed the one that looked "professional" with the office's logo on it and 20 minutes later when I still hadn't been called was told that I signed the wrong book. I apologized for not being able to read the chicken scratch at the top of the book that said "Dr. Mae Gutierrez". Location is a dump and I should have known better than to trust my health to an office with such poor staff and low quality service. In case you're wondering about the actual doctor, my issue still hasn't been resolved. I have been prescribed a few meds and my issue is exactly the same as when I started coming here. One star is too much! The office staff is ignorant and incompetent at best. After seven phone calls I finally got a return call only for the woman in the office to get snippy with me. She said if you don't have cancer I can't write you a prescription. If I hadn't been at work the profanities that would have poured out of my mouth would have changed her attitude. The appointment with doctor Camacho was a complete waste of time and money. The doctor literally spent less than 5 minutes to say that he didn't know for sure what the red dry patches in the face were, gave a recipe for a cream and said "come in 2 months and if it does not get better we will do a biopsy"! for real!!! he didn't even ask for more details: diet, sun exposure, use of soap, anything, just put this on and come later!!!! read more
