I left his office with one small issue but I think the cure isn't worth the risk so i am going to soldier through for now. But, this is all preamble. i went from having to worry about dry, cracked skin conditions to burnt, cancerous, moley conditions. And, none of that would do. Since I didn't move to Miami with any doctors, I had to use Yelp in an old-school way: I needed to find a doctor. Luckily, a trusted Elite had written a review about Dr. G and being satisfied with her writing, skin and opinion, I followed suit. I'm very glad I did. First off, the office is in South Miami. This is a good thing. You know the ladies who lunch in South Miami and the Gables are not about to go around looking busted so derm practices in the area have to be on point. Secondly, Dr. G really is as nice, engaging, trustworthy, and skilled as reputed. Like I mentioned, I left a favored dermatologist in Chicago but I felt pretty instantly connected to Dr. G. She spoke of my skin history, asked all the right questions, brainstormed about the issues that concerned me most and -- greatest of all -- she listened with real empathy. For any doctor, this is HUGE and, unfortunately, some are missing this skill. Dr. G has it in spades. Her office is modern, relaxing and very cool. Her staff is efficient and pleasant and she has all sorts of cool machines that do incredible things. Four stars for now. She's pretty incredible but my Chicago doc cured/cleared something I was told could never go away and helped to give me my life back. That's a pretty high standard to meet (and I hope to never again have to have it met). Over time, though, I'm sure Dr. G's bedside manner, intelligence, grace, and intuition will bump this up to a five. I have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone. She prescribed antibiotics at the time, which kept the cyst from getting worse, until her and the outside surgeon she referred me to felt it was stable enough to operate. The fact I haven't had to Yelp about her sooner is a good thing, since from then to now I just had to go for yearly routine checkups. Her diagnosis and referral helped me resolve that condition. When I noticed another irritation a week ago that wasn't clearing up with home treatments, I called Dr. Bowes' office. Due to my 14 plus hour days, I couldn't go during the week and sent her a few pictures of the condition. She was able to diagnose it and call in a prescription, and accomodate me for a Saturday appointment. To be able to diagnose from a verbal description and a couple of pictures is actually pretty cool, better than Dr. Gregory House :) From when I sent the photos to the actual appointment, the thing was about 80% clear; I was prescribed additional medication to finally take care of it. The office itself was clean, and doesn't have that "hospital smell". Instead it's a modern white and has a nice view of the bay. Both the front office staff, PA's and medical assistants are knowledgeable and very courteous. I don't want to get sick, but if my (and your) skin acts up, this is who I'd recommend.

And then I can post up my after pictures that I sent to your laser technician, MariElena, that way people can see how badly my face became after said treatment and after having left your office. Yes, I had Rosacea (which would flare up on occasion) before doing the treatment but tell me why I was then put on oral and topical steroids thereafter? Which, by the way, not only made me gain weight but also worsened my skin, and has left my skin extremely textured, something I didn't have to deal with before. Yes, profanity was addressed after the fifth time in the same month of having to come into the office with no results of improvement, still having to deal with the rash on my cheeks post IPL. After it all, I believed a full reimbursement of the IPL (which was accommodated, thankfully) and last minute appointments were the very least that your office could do for me. Instead you gave up on finding solutions for me, handed me a sample bar of soap, and the card of UM's allergist. Does that sound like sufficient and effective customer service to you? I went ahead and booked the next available appointment--today, 7/7/25 at 9:15 AM--and was instructed to arrive by 8:45 AM. I even took PTO from work specifically for this test. At 8:00 AM, I received a call and text from a medical assistant, Daniela, informing me that the appointment had to be rescheduled because the patch testing supplies had not been ordered. She explained that this was due to a lack of internal communication and that the type of appointment had been overlooked. This is completely unacceptable. If the office charges patients penalties for being late or missing appointments, then it should also offer compensation--such as credits or complimentary services--when it fails to uphold its end of the commitment. I lost a full day of PTO because of this oversight, and I believe the office should be held accountable. Although the location is conveniently close to my home and the practice has a strong reputation based on the reviews on Dr. Deborah Longwill's website, I will not be returning--and I will not be recommending this office to others.

She was GENUINELY interested of figuring out what's wrong with me. She ordered a whole bunch of blood work and even took a sample of my troubled area to be tested in the lab. She was very informative, had a plan of action. She was really sweet,understanding and reassuring. She didn't prescribe me a whole bunch of creams that she knows won't make a difference and said I don't want you to waste your money. Its obvious that she knows what she is doing,this makes me happy.
