There's no 'maybe' about it: I WAS born with it! Have you SEEN my magazine cover? Hel-lo!!…read morePractices like South Miami Dermatology helps me to keep it. Moving from the cold climes of Chicago to the bright sun of Miami, one of my first priorities was to find a stellar dermatologist. I'd been lucky to have had a truly amazing doctor back in the Windy City and he took care of everything from checking my skin for disease to making sure I stayed easy, breezy and beautiful to consulting me about life. I left his office with one small issue but I think the cure isn't worth the risk so i am going to soldier through for now. But, this is all preamble. i went from having to worry about dry, cracked skin conditions to burnt, cancerous, moley conditions. And, none of that would do. Since I didn't move to Miami with any doctors, I had to use Yelp in an old-school way: I needed to find a doctor. Luckily, a trusted Elite had written a review about Dr. G and being satisfied with her writing, skin and opinion, I followed suit. I'm very glad I did. First off, the office is in South Miami. This is a good thing. You know the ladies who lunch in South Miami and the Gables are not about to go around looking busted so derm practices in the area have to be on point. Secondly, Dr. G really is as nice, engaging, trustworthy, and skilled as reputed. Like I mentioned, I left a favored dermatologist in Chicago but I felt pretty instantly connected to Dr. G. She spoke of my skin history, asked all the right questions, brainstormed about the issues that concerned me most and -- greatest of all -- she listened with real empathy. For any doctor, this is HUGE and, unfortunately, some are missing this skill. Dr. G has it in spades. Her office is modern, relaxing and very cool. Her staff is efficient and pleasant and she has all sorts of cool machines that do incredible things. Four stars for now. She's pretty incredible but my Chicago doc cured/cleared something I was told could never go away and helped to give me my life back. That's a pretty high standard to meet (and I hope to never again have to have it met). Over time, though, I'm sure Dr. G's bedside manner, intelligence, grace, and intuition will bump this up to a five. I have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone. However, if you extend my wait time... we'll have an issue. I may look 21 but I'm *really* 25. I _know_, right! Incredible!

My son and I made an appointment to be seen by the PA last week. Unfortunately, the experience was…read morevery disappointing. First, we were placed in a room that was extremely warm, around 80 degrees. I was there for my yearly checkup, and my 19-year-old son was there for an acne evaluation. The medical assistant came in after a few minutes for the intake, then gave me an exam gown and asked me to change (while my son was still in the rooms!) Before she left, I mentioned that the room was very warm and that I was starting to feel unwell. She explained that the three large machines in the room produced a lot of heat and tried to move us to another room. However, the PA came in and said not to worry because the appointment would be quick. She saw my son first. I felt that she was very dismissive and lacked empathy regarding his previous experience with acne treatment. When I asked what would be considered a serious side effect of Accutane besides a severe purge and joint pains, she responded, "Only if you see that he's having a hard time walking." Given his previous experience, I was hoping for a more thorough discussion of the potential side effects and our concerns. When it was my turn to have my yearly examination, I felt very rushed. I was not given an opportunity to change into the gown, and the examination did not feel as thorough as I expected for an annual checkup. I got to show her my main concern which was my birthmark, later a small sun spot on my face.... I had other several skin concerns I wanted to show her but I felt rushed so I didn't get to. I told her I had some skin tags I wanted to have removed. She said, "Sure, I'll let you know how much that will be since insurance doesn't cover it." She then left the room, and I never saw her again. The medical assistant later returned, k told her again the room was too hot... she was nice and told us to follow her to another room. She gave me the iPLEDGE paperwork and a list of products the PA recommended, including several products sold in the office for rosacea. I reminded the assistant about the skin tag removal, and she said she had forgotten and would bring me the pricing. At that point, I just wanted to leave. Overall, I felt rushed, unheard, and disappointed with the lack of communication and empathy. Perhaps the fact that our appointment was at 11:45 a.m. had something to do with everyone being in a hurry to leave for lunch, but regardless, that should not affect the quality of care a patient receives. Unfortunately, this was a terrible experience, and we will not be returning to this office.

The best experience!…read more My son had a wart on his finger, and after seeing two other dermatologists over the past six months, we still had no results. One doctor sent us home with a cream and told us to scrape the wart before applying it. The other froze the wart so poorly that it left part of his finger covered in a painful blister. I always read reviews before choosing a doctor, so I was hesitant to try another dermatologist. I'm so glad we came to Miami Center of Dermatology. From the moment we walked in, Isabella greeted us with kindness and made us feel welcome. Ashley, our dermatologist, truly listened and took the time to explain everything. She told us the wart was much deeper than the previous doctors had realized and explained why the other treatments were never going to work. She carefully removed it by scraping it out. At our two-week follow-up appointment, the wart was completely gone! This was one of the best medical experiences we've had. The staff was caring, knowledgeable, and efficient. The visit was quick, but we never felt rushed. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend Miami Center of Dermatology to anyone looking for a dermatologist who truly cares.

I called her office for an appointment and was asked if I wanted a 30 minute or 1 hour appointment. How am I supposed to know that? Ironically, she spent all of 3to 5 minutes in the room for my appointment. Yes, you read that right. I arrived at her office at 10:50am am for an 11:00am appointment and was greeted by someone who said she shares office space but she's not her receptionist. She has no receptionist and no one was there to help. It's a weird space that doesn't even look like. medical office. All very strange. I called while I was waiting in the lobby to ask what was going on, no answer. Then she shows up at 11:45 with many patients waiting in the lobby already and nowhere to sit while princess showed up 45 minutes to 1 hour late. She didn't even begin taking patients right away. Eventually she called me and I told her some of my concerns, not all because she was very rude. She made me very uncomfortable because she was on the computer the whole time and not really having a consult. She kept trying to end the conversation and leave the room. She told me about a medication for my condition and said "there are two options" but explained no further. I had to keep asking, as you prescribing both? She just said "Yes" again no other explanation. Do I use both? "No, just pick one". like that the whole time. It was extremely unpleasant. She didn't even apologize for being over an hour late and had the worst attitude and god complex. She spent all of five minutes in the room, half of which she spent scolding me and saying that if I made an appointment I had to keep it and that people needed to be respectful of other people's time, when she was an hour + late!!! I could not believe that she looked at me with a straight face treating me like a child about being on time and respecting people's time when she is shamelessly late, has an attitude and spent 3 minutes in the room. She also spent some time telling me I better made sure I asked all questions during the visit because I couldn't call after to ask any questions at all and I couldn't email either. Ironically, she kept trying to leave the room! So I couldn't ask her any questions. She never explained even the name of the medications she was prescribing, she also didn't explain how to use them or for how long. This woman not have a medical office at all, she is horrible. I am attaching the review request from her office so that there's no confusion regarding whether I visited her office.

I will admit, finding the entrance took me a minute since I wasn't familiar with the building, but once I found the lobby, everything was smooth and easy from there. Dr. Golomb and her entire team were absolutely fantastic. Everyone, from the front desk to the assistant and Dr. Golomb herself, made me feel comfortable and well cared for. It was my first time getting fillers and Botox, and Dr. Golomb took the time to thoroughly explain everything, answering all my questions without rushing. She really listened to my preferences, especially when it came to lip fillers, keeping the results natural and minimal, exactly how I wanted. I barely experienced any swelling and left feeling refreshed, confident, and more informed. It's so hard to find places you can trust when it comes to these types of procedures, but I can confidently say Skin Associates of South Florida is that place. Whether you're looking for a small touch-up, rejuvenation, or more advanced treatments, I highly recommend them. The level of professionalism, care, and expertise here is unmatched!

It's located at Mercy Hospital in the Professional Offices building. Parking is a bit of a walk and $3.00 (cash only). You could park closer and do valet for $5.00, but don't ask me for details as I haven't done this just yet. There seem to be a variety of doctors there. That and the same can be said for the hours. They work one Saturday a month and that's been super convenient for me. Also, they e-mail and text you to remind you of your appointment. Anyway, I've been seeing Dr. Trisan for a couple of months now for some peeling, red skin and dandruff issues. My peeling, red skin is fortunately no more, but we are still working on the dandruff. I guess it's stress related. Shrug. I find her to be a lovely person, if a bit direct, and that's not something I say often. I usually am the queen of directness. Visits are to the point. No hogwash. I don't think at either visit I spent more than half an hour there. Staff is entirely bilingual, but it seems they gear more towards Spanish. Modern practice with a people-oriented feel. I'll go back next year I'm sure.
