Good communication and quick scheduling. I was able to have a technician come out the same day I called to schedule. The technician was extremely friendly and helpful. He answered all my questions while he was concentrating on the testing, set up etc. He was careful with his words meaning he didn't cause any unnecessary stress or anxiety. He wasn't pushy and was conscious of the cost while also recommending what samples are needed or suggested. He was clean and careful. Cons: Expensive compared to other mold testing companies. The invoice can quickly add up. I originally planned for about $800 ($500 base fee plus $75 for 4 samples). I added on asbestos test and that brought my bill to over $1300. In some ways I see this as a positive though because you get what you pay for (I hope and can't compare to any other company). My whole house wasn't moisture mapped as I was told it would be. The tech said they only focus on the reported areas of concern. Not a big deal but would've been nice to know. I kept getting rescheduled by 15 minutes. The tech was running late then running early so that was a little confusing. I jokingly asked them if I get compensation for the changed appt time since I signed the contract already (they charge $150 for any changes). They said no. The report is a bit confusing as it was the first time. The most annoying is that in the asbestos report they suggested further testing. Likely costing another $1000 or more. I thought I was already paying for the best testing. This feels a bit like a trick in some ways. Overall I'd go to JLM again. I suggest to do some research beforehand though to know exactly what you need done (AND WHY meaning are you renovating or just wanting to know for health reasons etc) so you don't get unneeded tests or costs.

    "Multiple Layers" of Deception and Unprofessionalism…read more.. In my correspondence with Gene K., a representative of Scope Environmental (cut and pasted from Yelp chat room) mentions "We can definitely help. Our asbestos inspection, survey, and lab results pricing is very competitive. It's $625 for the inspection and report. Each sample is $35. No other fees. Generally, results and reports will be available within 24-48 hours". Gene K. also mentioned the following "Some samples have multiple layers, and that can not be determined prior to taking the physical sample. You are welcome to call in so that you can properly comprehend the procedures". However, UNDISCLOSED FEES can creep into the price charged to the customer, e.g. such as the need to test "multiple layers" of one material; so, "No other fees" is (deliberately) misleading and therefore, deceptive. A field inspector (Daisy Flamenco) of Scope Environmental, arrived at the project site and upon seeing the area that needed sampling, asked the homeowner for a ladder to get her modest stature to the sampling material areas. When sampling the ceiling, Ms. Flamenco was barely able to reach the sampling surface (needed to be on her tippy toes), even with a step ladder (provided by the homeowner). ALL sample takers must come fully prepared for all conditions at the work site and not rely on the homeowner to provide tools, equipment or assistance of any kind to do THEIR job! Ms. Flamenco was dressed casually, no respirator or other appropriate protective equipment or gear, which is not only hazardous to herself, but sends the message to the homeowner (overseeing the work), that asbestos is really not that harmful. Even two and a half years following the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is appropriate if all workers who enter a home, to wear a mask or at least offer to wear one, but Ms. Flamenco failed to show the occupants of the residence, such consideration. Most (professional) people return to bad pre-pandemic habits, even if to protect the home's occupants from the common cold. What is really inconsiderate and unprofessional, is that Ms. Flamenco had disturbed suspected asbestos containing materials by scraping and cutting away material from parts of a furnace and its ducts, leaving the furnace and ducts out-of-order, i.e. if no asbestos or other harmful materials were found, the furnace and ducts could not be safely and effectively used without first repairing them. Leaving carcinogenic materials exposed (cutting, scraping or otherwise removing and exposing asbestos) to those who live at the work site, is hazardous and unprofessional and should never be done this way. Exposing harmful materials puts people and animals at risk of exposure to carcinogens and asbestosis causing particles! Asbestos sample takers should take measures to seal or otherwise cover, exposed asbestos containing materials (when they are through sampling them), to protect home occupants. This experience was a wake-up call to how incompetent workers can make a bad situation, worse!

They quickly extracted the standing water, debris, and sewage, then applied absorbent materials to the wet areas to remove moisture. They also installed heaters and drying equipment to prevent further damage. I appreciated that they returned over the following days to monitor progress and ensure everything was drying properly. Their support during such a stressful situation made a world of difference. I highly recommend this reliable, family-owned company for anyone needing this kind of emergency cleanup services.

He was also very helpful with random questions I had and other tid bits of knowledge about asbestos. Jay (my tech) was informative and thorough when taking samples and images of the areas. When I wanted some testing done, the deceptive thing they said was that I can do multiple tests for one price. So I clarified that if I were to test 3 rooms, it'd be the same price as 5 rooms and they said yes. So I literally said to the representative " so whether I test 1 room or 5 rooms, it's one price and she confirmed yes. Lo and behold I get slapped with a charge 5 different rooms. Well I called to clarify, they told me it was one price but per room. I was frustrated because that was my default assumption. It's like going to a restaurant and ordering something and the server says "all pastas are for one price whether you get 1 or 10, it's all one price" and you order 4 pastas for the family and 4 more to go to take home and they slap you with a bill for 8 pastas and tell you it's one price but for each pasta. Well duh! That's everyone's default assumption. You making that qualifying statement serves to confuse the customer. It feels like a deceptive tactic to make it seem like all tests are for one price in order to bait you into more tests. It left a bad taste in my mouth honestly. That being said, the worker was nice and the job was done which why I can average out the score to 3 stars. Would I use them again.... Maybe, but I may shop around a little more.

I know that because one of your office staff called and left a voicemail. She stated someone called out sick and re-scheduled it for the following day without my consent. When called back to speak to Genevieve, the male I spoke to told me she was not available and he scheduled a Saturday appointment. THEN I kept getting calls I was at work and Jasmine left me a voicemail asking me to move the appointment sooner. If your company is not able to take an appointment on Saturday then whey did they make it in the first place? I do not know what your company told ServePro but ServePro accused me of delaying the repairs to my own home. That is its own issue but if it is true that your company is spreading false information to avoid looking bad, you should be made aware. Like I said, that is a separate issue. The rep that came and did the testing was fine and I have no complaints about the actual work. Having water damage and the subsequent repairs is a nightmare. I am essential worker and I work 11 hour days. At this moment, during a pandemic, I do not have the luxury of a of time or flexibility. I moved around my schedule to accommodate you. When I schedule an appointment, I keep it. I understand people get sick that is understandable. Sometimes things like that are beyond our control. What I resent is the poor manner your staff handled the scheduling of the appointment and essentially added more stress when it was not really necessary. If I never have to deal with your staff again, it will be too soon.

I have a AAA claim and this whole process has been a bear. The clearance tester was supposed to bring a form for me to sign prior to entering my home. When I arrived he was already in my home testing, as the remediation company I am working with let him in. I was told I would be given the results the same day most likely in the early evening. They are now holding my report hostage and have refused to give it to me! I drove over 22 minutes drive to their office in Westlake to bring a check and pay in person. A person named Ann (customer service) in the office refused to open the door. They are treating me utterly disrespectful. Would they have done this if they were billing AAA directly? I think not. Because I asked them to send the bill to me instead of AAA, I am being treated differently. And because their clearance inspector did not have the form I was supposed to sign PRIOR to him commencing work, they are holding me and the report hostage. My email this afternoon to them: "I am a senior citizen, have been spending all morning and afternoon up until now and no help. "The restoration company was scheduled to work on my home today and I was told by AEG I would have the report back last night. This is unkind and not right. "Please send the person who inspected by home yesterday and bring me the proper documents so I can give him my check and you can release my report. "This is none of my fault so please follow up appropriately." Shame on them!!!
