A decent company that does good work with regards to testing. My main gripe is lack of clarity and resolution of an issue that I had brought up. When I wanted some testing done, the deceptive thing they said was that I can do multiple tests for one price. So I clarified that if I were to test 3 rooms, it'd be the same price as 5 rooms and they said yes. So I literally said to the representative " so whether I test 1 room or 5 rooms, it's one price and she confirmed yes. Lo and behold I get slapped with a charge 5 different rooms. Well I called to clarify, they told me it was one price but per room. I was frustrated because that was my default assumption. It's like going to a restaurant and ordering something and the server says "all pastas are for one price whether you get 1 or 10, it's all one price" and you order 4 pastas for the family and 4 more to go to take home and they slap you with a bill for 8 pastas and tell you it's one price but for each pasta. Well duh! That's everyone's default assumption. You making that qualifying statement serves to confuse the customer. It feels like a deceptive tactic to make it seem like all tests are for one price in order to bait you into more tests. It left a bad taste in my mouth honestly. That being said, the worker was nice and the job was done which why I can average out the score to 3 stars. Would I use them again.... Maybe, but I may shop around a little more. read more

Six samples were taken from a 350 square feet garage, that has 2 months old roof. Each samples were tested 3 times, a total of 18 test samples. These donkeys are taking samples of the owners personal items. The more they suspect, the more testing they do and the more money they will make. I'm taking the time to write about my experience with this company. I am a general contractor, and had this company provide both asbestos and lead testing. Everything went well until the "newly" hired rep was unable to properly explain the services provided. I ended up getting an air sample which caused issues for me. Let me explain... The air sample taken measured the size of the material found in the air which would classify it as asbestos. The report findings were no asbestos in the materials on site except a wrapping around a duct we did not disturb. I was puzzled by why the air sample would come in higher than the EPA standards, and classify the particles tested under asbestos. This made me take steps to protect myself and my clients. The company stated there would be an additional $300 charge to determine if the initial air test is in fact asbestos. I asked the rep to ask the owner to work with me and cover half the cost, and it was denied. Even the employee understood my point of view and explained that to avoid these situations they explain more in detail. However, in my case I had an employee who wasn't well versed in this. The lack of compromise and miscommunication express the companies policy when mistakes happen; knowingly or not. Definitely moves me to not being a repeat customer. On a good note, their timely response was impeccable. Though the pricing was higher than other testing companies, I would praise their responsiveness. I hope the owner can reconsider the situation, and work with my client to remedy the miscommunication. Update: I had a great conversation with Sarah, she is the director of client relations and business development. She heard me out and approved my request to cover half the cost of the additional test required to affirm if the air sample taken was indeed asbestos. read more

In summary: Home Biotesting is a good, honest company with reasonable prices and great service. ----- I requested Home Biotesting to test the air in my house for asbestos after some asbestos containing materials had been removed from it. They came on time and they had a good price, comparable to other places. They returned the results quickly. They worked with me well in planning the number of air and dust samples needed. In fact, they said that dust samples would not even be necessary in my case because there wasn't dust to sample. They placed the air sample collectors at two locations in order to get good coverage in my house (3 BR, 2 BA, 1000 sq.ft.). With these operations I was worried that they would try to up-sell me and take more samples than were really necessary, but Home Biotesting didn't scam me like that. Previously, another company had come to the house to do an asbestos survey; that company had said that the material in my house was "friable," which means that it would turn into breathable dust if you were to look at it, and so that company had said that I would need an over-the-top Procedure 9 asbestos removal plan. I didn't believe them because I looked up the definitions and I took it to a testing facility myself. The testing lab said it wasn't friable. I think that that other company was lying and just trying to give themselves extra work. The reason I mention all of this is because I explained the situation to Home Biotesting after the material had been removed, and the Home Biotesting asbestos expert agreed with me and the lab that I had taken the material to. The material was not friable, it would have required vigorous sanding in order to turn it into dust, just picking it up and maybe having to fracture it a little would not have released asbestos fibers into the air. I wish that I had called Home Biotesting originally to get the asbestos survey because they would have been honest about it, and would not have specified an outrageous biohazard Chernobyl-level containment plan, and I would have invited them back for the post-abatement testing. read more

stop calling me. dozens of solicitous calls and texts by kennedy. i do not want to use your company. found another company that charged me 10% of your outrageously high fees. so happy i hired them instead. I have all voicemails and texts saved. There is no confusion. Additionally, all of this unsolicited contact was from them reading my info from caller ID! I never signed up to use them. This is harassment. So desperate for business it's unbelievable. If you're doing a great job and have satisfied customers you don't need to incessantly call people who just called to ask a simple question. How a great start in the beginning in the middle. I was disappointed, cause it was a price change that increased then it was a lot of miscommunication but at the end it all worked out they were understanding and gave an additional discount and I had a wonderful lady named Claire, who explained the whole testing results to me. I hired Home Biotesting to perform mold and asbestos testing in my apartment after serious health and safety concerns were ignored by my landlord. I was told the work would be performed by certified professionals, but the technician who showed up wore no protective gear, didn't explain anything, and seemed unsure about the process or pricing. Worse, the person listed on my final report was not the person who actually did the inspection, which calls the integrity of the results into question. The lab is part of the same company -- not third-party -- and I never received clear documentation about who processed my samples or how they were handled. I paid over $800 out of pocket expecting peace of mind, but instead was left more confused and frustrated. I do not recommend this company if you're looking for transparent, accountable, or professional environmental testing. Ask every question upfront and get everything in writing before proceeding. Specifically, the individual who performed the inspection in my unit was not the technician listed on my report. I recently used this service twice within two weeks to make sure all of the mold and allergens were cleared out of my home. The staff are super helpful and kind, and both of the testers who came to the house were great about explaining how the process worked, and even made follow up calls to see if I had questions about the results. I had Home Biotesting come out and test our home after our kitchen was flooded and had to be entirely replaced all cabinets and floor. After about 2 to 3 weeks we got a letter we were cleared and so did our restoration company. we received an email of a bill of $693. we were waiting for payment from our insurance company and that took several months. after a couple of weeks I received an email from home biotesting for $1865 i called and told the young lady that i got an email for $ 693, she no its $1865. so i asked to talk to manage and she said after i paid she would arrange for a phone call . This location will send uncertified technicians, who are not legally able to take asbestos samples on supervise in any area over 100 ft, then falsify the report to have the lab owner's name on the report so it appears somebody with credentials did the sampling. When I called them out on the falsification, they tried to stop putting information in writing and called me. I explained again that I wanted to see all of this in writing and at that time, they began ignoring any communications. They are aware they falsified the report, they are aware the technician they sent requires supervision to take samples and she was not, this is not a laboratory I would trust.
