    Busy weekend activity board.

I would have preferred to give this lovely Radisson 5 Yelp Stars because it is an awesome hotel but the lackluster restaurant on the property knocks off that one star difference. Still, it is a very nice property--classy--but not overdone. Great location in downtown Fargo. I appreciated the accommodating and pleasant employees and courtesy local shuttles. This is the place to stay in Fargo! I cluelessly came to town on a summer weekend--and the weddings were in full force. Every lovely, well-heeled bride and groom wants to get hitched here! No wonder the rate I paid for the night was a little pricey but it is so nice to be around happy occasions such as this. I enjoyed a great view of the town from my hotel room and got a good feel for the Northern hipster vibe of the city. Thankfully, there is a convenient coffee bar downstairs which offers some jolting java to prepare for the day. Check out the restrooms located here--they are awesomely outfitted in shiny silver designs. The big hitch is the problematic restaurant on site. I haplessly ventured in famished and was given a paper menu. The food was fine but the service left a lot to be desired. The perfectly nice server reeked of cigarette smoke. He gave me the wrong bill. Then he gave me a new bill--full of higher prices that did not match the prices on the menu. Time to call for the manager. These unnecessary hassles ruined my breakfast with frustrations. Yes, I know good help is hard to find these days but c'mon! However, I will note the restaurant was decorated in a trendy vintage decor and I LOVED the art deco lamps. \ Hopefully, the sale of the Radisson brand to Choice Hotels will not sully the quality of the Radisson Blu properties. If management can fix the restaurant issues, then this surely is a 5 Star hotel.

Welcome to the second tallest structure in North Dakota. Weeeeeeee!! I feel heckka honored to be in one of the tallest structure in the state. Just like any other Radissons in the country. They've this modern style lobby. There's a check in desk, I walk up, I say hello, they say hello and I get my keys. They direct me to the elevator where it takes me to my floor where my room is. My room is very nice. It comes with a bed complete with pillows, comforter and sheets. There's a corner chair. A desk and a roller chair is provides as well. The television sits on top of a drawer chest. A closet is also available so I can hang my clothes. There's also a big window overlooking the police station where I instantly feel safe. The bathroom is well equipped as well. Asides from the clean towels. There's free soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. The toilet has a working flush function. The shower and tub combination is equipped with shower curtain. Then there's the sink and giant mirror with the faucet. Aside from the cute fitness center and two jaccuzis with no pool, my stay here was rather pleasant. Very restful and I probably wouldn't mind staying here again. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!!

My favorite area in Fargo is the downtown area because I love how they renovate and revise instead of tearing things down. I was actually born in Fargo but haven't lived in ages. Any time I go? I always stay at Radisson Blu because the location, staff, service, and quality rooms always make me happy. Also they have excellent breakfast. 10/10 will be back every time I'm in Fargo because the quality is top moth.

We still have one night left here and I already know this place won't be able to redeem itself. Let's start with booking - we booked in a block for a wedding and were very clearly told on the phone that it'd be $70/night ($140 total for two). We were pretty amazed with that pricing so jumped on it instead of looking for other hotels. We didn't get a confirmation email, but figured for a hotel in Fargo that was maybe expecting too much. Jump to two weeks down the road when we called to confirm our reservation under Johnson - arguably one of the easiest and most common names. Turns out they had us under "Jhonson". No big deal - they updated it and confirmed our reservation. Jump to the weekend of - we get a call from a friend saying her quoted price did not match what they wanted to charge. We figured it was a snafoo and we could deal with it when we arrived. When we got in, we were told that it was $140/night and that the front desk employee would be unable to override it. Further, he said we would have gotten a much better deal had we NOT booked with the block. At this point, it's 9 pm, we can afford $140/night, no other hotels have openings, so we're not going to make a fuss about it. Plus, the man at the front desk was really nice and it's not his fault ‍ We get up to our room though, and there is: what looks to be black mold in the shower, a visible hot mess of cords under the desk, a tv with no volume, and a shower head that spits out one stream of water - basically like a high powered faucet. The bed is decent, but the rest of the room is slightly outdated. Worth maybe $100/night, but certainly not $140. I am so disappointed with our experience here - we will be calling to get this rectified. Edit: updating to a 3 because they did rectify the pricing issue and were very gracious about it.

Our hotel room was not very clean or modern. The air vents had gobs of dust hanging from them, the toilet appeared to not have been cleaned since previous guest, the shower grout was eroded away, and the bathroom door was rusting. Minor things, but I expected nicer from a down town hotel. Aside from location, it was not worth the price.

On our way up to the cabin in Canada we took the route through Fargo and decided to stay the night before we continued on. The Radisson caught our eye, well because it is the tallest building in Fargo. Enter we do and are greeted very nicely by the guy at the front desk. After telling him what kind of accommodation we want he offered us a choice of the Versailles or Oriental Suite. We chose the French one. On entering our "suite" we just started laughing. Nothing and I mean nothing resembled Versailles let along France. I guess they figured if they used old salvation army furniture it might pass for french antiques. It also has a jetted tub in the room it self and it reminded me of someplace the natives on a island might have used to cook the white folk in. It was all just too funny. Other than that it was fine everything worked and the view was, well a view. We almost went down to ask to see the Oriental Suite too just for kicks, but we went to dinner instead.

A Disappointing Return…read more I'm genuinely sad to be updating my review from 5 stars to 1 star because my stay here last year was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. I praised Hotel Donaldson publicly, recommended it without hesitation, returned this year intentionally, and even purchased their merchandise. That context matters because this comes from a former fan. Unfortunately, this year's stay was a dramatic step backward. The biggest issue started immediately with parking. I arrived during a blizzard, with snow piled to the curb and no visible valet staff despite valet parking being advertised. I had to self-park and then go inside to find staff, which defeats the purpose of offering valet, especially in severe weather. The following day, I asked the reception about the consequences of not moving my car due to snow accumulation and was told it would be a $30 citation (less than the cost of parking, so I rolled the dice). The next day, I returned to find my car had been towed. To be clear, I accept responsibility for ignoring posted signage. My frustration is not about being towed. It's about the lack of warning or proactive guidance from the hotel, particularly when this is clearly a known issue. When I later mentioned it downstairs at the restaurant, staff and patrons openly acknowledged that this happens often. That disconnect is avoidable and disappointing. Beyond parking, the lack of basic guest amenities became impossible to ignore. There is no microwave in the room or reliably available at all. I called reception to see if they could rewarm some soup, and was told: "Sorry, no, our only microwave has been loaned out to a long-term guest." There is also no ice machine, requiring a call to reception and a trip to the desk. "Room service" is limited to the downstairs restaurant's hours, which do not always include breakfast. The in-room technology is outdated and feels out of place in a boutique hotel charging premium rates. Last year, these were minor quirks overshadowed by exceptional hospitality. This year, they compounded into a frustrating experience, especially during a winter storm when guests are spending more time in their rooms. I'm writing this publicly not to pile on, but in the hope that it reaches someone empowered to make changes. Hotel Donaldson used to be something special. I know it can be again. Right now, though, the experience no longer matches the reputation that once made it a highlight of my travels.

To enter Brewhalla is to surrender to a sensory maximalism rarely found in the Great Plains. It is…read morea sprawling, multi-story "food and beverage wonderland" that feels less like a traditional North Dakota establishment and more like a fever dream curated by a group of industrial-chic Vikings. Anchored by the irreverent Drekker Brewing Company, the space is a 100,000-square-foot cathedral of corrugated metal, neon murals, and high-energy conviviality. It functions as a market, a hotel, and a community living room, but at its heart, it is a shrine to the modern Midwestern appetite. The Atmosphere The layout is intentionally cavernous, encouraging a sort of culinary flânerie. One moment you are browsing the "tiny things" at local boutiques or admiring the lush greenery at The Plant Supply, and the next, you are drawn into the gravitational pull of a vintage pinball machine. The "weirdo" aesthetic--Drekker's self-applied label--is executed with a polished, professional edge that makes the large space feel vibrant rather than vacant. The Libations The beer selection is, in a word, exhaustive. Drekker has long been known for pushing the boundaries of what a "sour" or "stout" can be, and the taps here offer everything from heavy-hitting IPAs to dessert-inspired concoctions that defy categorization. * The Happy Hour: It is perhaps the most democratic hour in Fargo. The pricing is remarkably aggressive, making the high-concept environment accessible to everyone from the corporate executive on assignment to the local university student. The Culinary Landscape The beauty of Brewhalla lies in its "choose your own adventure" dining model. There is no singular menu, but rather a curated collection of local purveyors: * The Bird: Artisanal wood-fired pizzas made with North Dakota-grown flour. The crust is "hell-fired" to a perfect char, providing a sturdy base for inventive toppings. * Unicorn Park Fine Foodery: Whimsical brewery fare that hits the sweet spot between comfort and creativity. Their smash burgers are a masterclass in the form. * House of Noods + Buns: Offering steamy bao and rich bowls of ramen that provide a necessary, savory counterpoint to the sweetness of the heavier ales. * Mångata Wine & Raw Bar: For those seeking a moment of refinement, the oysters and curated wine list offer a sophisticated escape from the brewery's louder corners. The Verdict Brewhalla is an ambitious experiment in community-building that actually succeeds. It manages to be a destination for the out-of-towner while remaining a genuine "spot" for the locals. Whether you are there for a quick happy hour pint or an afternoon lost in the shops and video games, it is clear that Fargo has found its new center of gravity.

Of course I'm going to stay at the local Marriott wherever I am and this time it happens to be the courtyard in Fargo. I arrived after dark, but the location was well lit and prominent even from the expressway. I did take a little detour down the road and back up just to see what was close by. There are a ton of restaurants very close to this hotel. There's also a Costco directly across the street. It looks like there is quite a bit more in this area, but being that it's late and I just drove three hours. I decided to go ahead and check in to the hotel. either the hotel has been kept up very well or it is relatively new. The style is very pleasing on the outside. Parking was a breeze and there is ample parking spaces available. It looks to be what I believe a hospital on the other side of the parking lot but as of now I have not heard any loud noises from ambulances, etc. Once inside the decor definitely looks like it is a newer courtyard property. The decor is earth tones with a lot of very comfortable looking seating. There is also a very nice looking bar on the main floor. The staff member who checked me in tonight was super friendly. He was very helpful with giving me the location of everything within the hotel, as well as the hours for the bar and for breakfast in the morning. I was promptly given my key and directed towards the elevator. Upon entering my room, I immediately noticed a door to my left. The door seemed abnormally large, and for a moment, I thought that perhaps it was the door to the adjoining room & had been left open. However, it was actually the door to an enormous bathroom. The bathroom is well appointed, nice and bright, and has a gigantic shower. There was an over abundance of towels in the bathroom, and I don't even believe that I requested extras for the stay. Further entry into the room revealed a nice king size bed, a great sofa and ottoman, a very big flatscreen TV, a mini fridge that is hidden in a cabinet, and a super long desk. This room is definitely meant for business travelers or those who travel with a lot of electronics. I love love, love love rooms with enough plugs so that I can charge all of my devices at once. I work in IT so I often travel with multiple laptops and many peripherals. Right now I have everything all set up so that I can get up in the morning and start work. On both sides of the bed, there is also ample places to plug in devices using both AC adapters as well as USB. If this is a new hotel, and this is the new style that Marriott is going with by putting so many ways to charge devices in rooms, I'm all for it. I ended up going back downstairs to grab something to drink and ran into the same friendly associate. I'm now chilling and having a drink and about to watch a movie. This courtyard is a 10 out of 10.
