    Team spirit at Christmas time.
    Marty J.

Reflecting back on my Holliday travels, I have to admit that it can be hard to maintain the Holliday spirit, however the staff at this property made the Hollidays enjoyable. The lobby had a well decorated tree, and the staff went above and beyond by wearing Holliday themed Christmas sweaters! Each morning it was kind of something to look forward to on the way to the Bistro to grab breakfast and Starbucks Coffee. Hats off to the management and staff for going the extra mile once again to make a Marriott guest stay enjoyable, and in this case, memorable. Thank you!

Super nice place to stay...I would highly recommend. Very relaxing......Tons of places to sit unwind in lobby. Super close to the hospital. Plenty of food options (you can walk), but UBER/LYFT only is $4-8 dollars to decent restaurants. The gym is very good. Had treadmills, ellipticals, dumbbells with 2 benches and 2 sets of cable machines. The gym was one of nicest I have seen in Marriot line. They actually have Starbucks coffee and a very good menu of food (FOR PURCHASE). NOTE: 1. No free breakfast here

Nice hotel. All the staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice. We spent 3 nights there and our room was never cleaned. I had to go to the front desk every evening for fresh towels. Lots of apologies for the lack of cleaning the room, but no action. Unacceptable.

Nice experience in decent hotel. Located in area with food and coffee options but not busy compared to downtown Fargo.

A Disappointing Return…read more I'm genuinely sad to be updating my review from 5 stars to 1 star because my stay here last year was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. I praised Hotel Donaldson publicly, recommended it without hesitation, returned this year intentionally, and even purchased their merchandise. That context matters because this comes from a former fan. Unfortunately, this year's stay was a dramatic step backward. The biggest issue started immediately with parking. I arrived during a blizzard, with snow piled to the curb and no visible valet staff despite valet parking being advertised. I had to self-park and then go inside to find staff, which defeats the purpose of offering valet, especially in severe weather. The following day, I asked the reception about the consequences of not moving my car due to snow accumulation and was told it would be a $30 citation (less than the cost of parking, so I rolled the dice). The next day, I returned to find my car had been towed. To be clear, I accept responsibility for ignoring posted signage. My frustration is not about being towed. It's about the lack of warning or proactive guidance from the hotel, particularly when this is clearly a known issue. When I later mentioned it downstairs at the restaurant, staff and patrons openly acknowledged that this happens often. That disconnect is avoidable and disappointing. Beyond parking, the lack of basic guest amenities became impossible to ignore. There is no microwave in the room or reliably available at all. I called reception to see if they could rewarm some soup, and was told: "Sorry, no, our only microwave has been loaned out to a long-term guest." There is also no ice machine, requiring a call to reception and a trip to the desk. "Room service" is limited to the downstairs restaurant's hours, which do not always include breakfast. The in-room technology is outdated and feels out of place in a boutique hotel charging premium rates. Last year, these were minor quirks overshadowed by exceptional hospitality. This year, they compounded into a frustrating experience, especially during a winter storm when guests are spending more time in their rooms. I'm writing this publicly not to pile on, but in the hope that it reaches someone empowered to make changes. Hotel Donaldson used to be something special. I know it can be again. Right now, though, the experience no longer matches the reputation that once made it a highlight of my travels.

To enter Brewhalla is to surrender to a sensory maximalism rarely found in the Great Plains. It is…read morea sprawling, multi-story "food and beverage wonderland" that feels less like a traditional North Dakota establishment and more like a fever dream curated by a group of industrial-chic Vikings. Anchored by the irreverent Drekker Brewing Company, the space is a 100,000-square-foot cathedral of corrugated metal, neon murals, and high-energy conviviality. It functions as a market, a hotel, and a community living room, but at its heart, it is a shrine to the modern Midwestern appetite. The Atmosphere The layout is intentionally cavernous, encouraging a sort of culinary flânerie. One moment you are browsing the "tiny things" at local boutiques or admiring the lush greenery at The Plant Supply, and the next, you are drawn into the gravitational pull of a vintage pinball machine. The "weirdo" aesthetic--Drekker's self-applied label--is executed with a polished, professional edge that makes the large space feel vibrant rather than vacant. The Libations The beer selection is, in a word, exhaustive. Drekker has long been known for pushing the boundaries of what a "sour" or "stout" can be, and the taps here offer everything from heavy-hitting IPAs to dessert-inspired concoctions that defy categorization. * The Happy Hour: It is perhaps the most democratic hour in Fargo. The pricing is remarkably aggressive, making the high-concept environment accessible to everyone from the corporate executive on assignment to the local university student. The Culinary Landscape The beauty of Brewhalla lies in its "choose your own adventure" dining model. There is no singular menu, but rather a curated collection of local purveyors: * The Bird: Artisanal wood-fired pizzas made with North Dakota-grown flour. The crust is "hell-fired" to a perfect char, providing a sturdy base for inventive toppings. * Unicorn Park Fine Foodery: Whimsical brewery fare that hits the sweet spot between comfort and creativity. Their smash burgers are a masterclass in the form. * House of Noods + Buns: Offering steamy bao and rich bowls of ramen that provide a necessary, savory counterpoint to the sweetness of the heavier ales. * Mångata Wine & Raw Bar: For those seeking a moment of refinement, the oysters and curated wine list offer a sophisticated escape from the brewery's louder corners. The Verdict Brewhalla is an ambitious experiment in community-building that actually succeeds. It manages to be a destination for the out-of-towner while remaining a genuine "spot" for the locals. Whether you are there for a quick happy hour pint or an afternoon lost in the shops and video games, it is clear that Fargo has found its new center of gravity.

However, the staff anticipated this and provided earplugs AND a sound machine in the room. I thought that was above and beyond. We spent the evening at Drekker brewing, which had a wonderful variety of beers. We even got a complimentary 6 ounce pour upon check in. We will be back!
