Hotel is in very desirable area, that is a plus,,the staff is great, and the food was fine, nice choice of salads. That is where the positives end. Once you are past the reception areas, it's like going into the the servants area. The room is small and dingy, no air, the disinfectant or "room freshner", makes it smell like a restroom. On a positive note, the bed is comfortable. The bathroom is functional even though who ever cleaned the room left shreds of paper on the floor. I guess I need to do more research. Need to correct this review it's for the Radisson Blu Edwardian Vanderbilt not the one at Heathrow

I had to barricade my door with the fear that the management would attack me again in the middle of the night

I had a terrifying night without any help at this horrific hotel. After a long difficult check in I got to an outdated room that was dirty. I got a request from Expedia to review my experience so I have it a negative but fair review. In the middle of the night as I was sleeping my phone rang when I answered of course the phone didn't work. It was the front desk and they called so many times I had to disconnect the phone. I went back to bed and several minutes later the manager started banging on my door! He was angry and insisting that we discuss the negative revie. I tried to tell him I was sleeping and had an early flight he relented and tried to get into my room. I went to the front desk and asked for a refund the manager came out again and started yelling at me, calling me names and using threatening language. I had to return to my room and barricade the door with the fears that he and his staff would retaliate again by coming to my room. Didn't sleep at all.

This hotel is very close to Heathrow Airport and there is a free bus that will take you to and from the hotel. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. After reading negative reviews, I was nervous, but all my worries were put to rest within 10 minutes of checking in. The gentleman who checked us in was very helpful and even gave us free drink vouchers to their bar because our room wasn't completely ready yet. It was our anniversary and when we arrived in the room, our bed was covered with rose petals, a very nice touch. Our room was spacious and very clean. The beds were comfortable. Any small issues that we had were handled in less than 15 minutes, we were very happy with that. Excellent and timely. We got room service twice during our stay and everything was very good. We had the burger, the onion rings, the fries, the chicken wings, and the BLT salad. My only complaints were that the bathtub wasn't as clean as I expected and that the hair dryer was connected inside the closet and you couldn't move it around the room. If you wanted to dry your hair, you had to do it standing next to the closet. This was very uncomfortable for me since I have a lot of hair and it takes me about an hour to dry my hair. An hour standing after walking around London ALL day did not make me or my feet happy :(

While I think the painting of the Sistine Chapel took less time, this hotel is still under renovation. This means that each time there's a new diversion, and I mean that in the British sense. The staff couldn't be nicer, though, and do work to ensure you have a nice stay. The room numbering system makes for a labyrinth, so be sure to triple check you are heading the right way to save yourself that extra mile walk you didn't need. The rooms are small, but quiet and well outfitted. And if you see a pair of shoes outside a room, those are mine, as I could not be bothered to wear those evil things one step further after a day of walking!

I'm going to rate this hotel based on the first two hours here. We check in to find out our superior room has two twin beds this was not mentioned when we choose our flight, hotel and car service all online at once. This was the first and last time we will ever use that service. Moving on our front desk attendant Marcus was friendly upgrading our room for 30 pounds extra daily to a better room he says and allows us to check in early. We just came back from VA a day ago and now we're in London we are defiantly exhausted. Anyways we come up to our room on the fourth floor and it's super basic. I mean the lobby is beautiful as well as everything on the bottom floor. We went to the gift shop, spa area and just walked around it's all upscale and maintained well but these rooms are outdated. Not only are the rooms outdated they dirty. We went downstairs asked for new sheets because ours had a dirt stain on them and we needed coffee because there was none in the room for the krups coffee machine. Guess what they gave me in an envelope tea bags and milk where is my coffee I didn't ask for tea. And when we walked past our room the maids were all gathered around talking about us in their language. Literally looking at us as we enter the room. It's not my fault this room is not clean and I don't have coffee I'm asking for basic accommodations. We already paid and we're here for 5 days long story short we are really disappointed. The room is still dirty and the halls smell like a smokers lounge. As far as friendly service the front desk guy was nice but we went to the spa and never received a greeting or can I help you nothing. And we both wanted a massage, oh well.

We did not stay at this hotel however spent a good amount of time at this hotel due to a wedding that we attended. This location is a great venue for a Wedding ceremony and reception. It has a selection of good high end restaurants as well. The bar on the first floor is spacious and presented a great atmosphere to relax with friends. The decor of the hotel is trendy. It fits the wedding ceremonies and receptions that are conducted here frequently.

The hotel is located about 10 minutes from the airport which makes it an ideal location to use if your in a similar situation. The hotel is clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly I found. I opted to have dinner here as well and the food was quite good. I had fish and chips, sweet potato soup and ice cream to finish. The soup came out after the main which was a bit weird but oh well right. The soup was average while the fish and chips were very good. Representing the way the british serve them. The ice cream for dessert was so basic anyone could have served it. Was straight from the packet without much effort. The breakfast buffet was large and offered a grest array of hot foods, pastries, fruits, cereals among other things. Plenty of selection and you definitely wouldn't leave asking for more food. While I certainly thought it was an OK hotel, I have to admit I wasn't particularly impressed with it. Nothing was exactly wrong with the hotel - it was clean, well maintained. The rooms and beds were as comfortable as they usually are to me (hotel beds tend to be a bit firmer than what I like). They have a business center, wi-fi, a gym, the usual amenities. Truthfully, I can't comment on them that much since my mother and I were really only here long enough to drop off stuff initially - and after that we went right to bed so that we could get to the airport early the next morning. My biggest problem with the hotel is ultimately their lack of information about some of the amenities they offer - particularly related to the shuttle service. When I stayed here, it was for one night prior to my flying back home to the US. Since we had stayed in the middle of London for the past week, and we didn't want to walk around the city with our suitcases all day, my mother and I brought our stuff here during the afternoon. We planned to use the shuttle buses to get to the hotel, and then to head back to the Tube via the bus so we could enjoy one last evening in London. And this is a hotel that boasts on its website, "The hotel is perfectly placed for day trips to London's museums, shops and galleries." So we figured our plan was solid. Little did we realize that the shuttle buses cost something like 5 pounds per person, and I believe per trip (though I think there was a slight discount for buying a round trip ticket). As far as I can remember there was absolutely no warning about this cost in advance when our hotel was booked via a travel agency. As of my writing this review I don't see any notice about this on their website, either. Another thing to keep in mind is that the shuttle isn't a shuttle associated with this specific hotel - it's a service that works with multiple hotels. The result is that any commute you're planning on making won't be a speedy one. You'll need to plan on riding in a loop between multiple hotels and the airport. And you'll want to give yourself plenty of time to ride in to the airport - last thing you want is to have to rush to your flight after a long shuttle ride and a slow day at security. Again, as a hotel, this place is just fine. The hotel itself did its job and gave me a decent place to sleep for a night. But they definitely need to look into offering more information in advance to guests who plan on using their shuttle service. Normally I wouldn't focus on the shuttle so much, especially since it's not operated by the hotel itself. But as a hotel that's offering itself as a convenient place to stay for tourists and travelers (in an area where said tourists and travelers are dependent on shuttles and public transit) any and all information related to the shuttle is an extremely important part of anyone's experience here. And guests deserve to know in advance what they're getting into - and, more importantly, NEED to know to ensure they have enough cash on hand for their commutes.

The carpet and some furnishings can be dated, but the bathrooms are updated and everything looks clean. Bathrooms look updated, very meticulously clean. The food: the good news: we got in late, but luckily, they have a handful of dishes served 24/7. The food was decent, nothing special but nice. They deliver it to the room. Chicken club was good, and the chips were nice, though not super crispy. The bad news: I think the chicken wing portion was a bit small for $15. The bleu cheese wasn't great. I was charged 5 pounds for a "tray charge," which was confusing, because it's not listed on the menu and I certainly didn't need the tray. The spring rolls definitely have the frozen taste and just too sweet for me. They delivered two bottles of coke, but no bottle opener. We tried to open it ourselves on the side of the counter, and the glass broke, so just a bit frustrating. I called and they brought one right up, though, so lesson learned. (I just wish they'd been a bit kinder or even given an apology for the oversight as opposed to acting like we're asking for something extreme.) Overall, I'd recommend staying for sure.
