We have stayed at the hotel several times in the past and always liked staying there. Now that it's under new management, their prices have increased, they have taken away the coffee maker in the rooms and replaced with cheap instant coffee packets, no complimentary bottled water and Mars Bar snack! :(. The beds are like sleeping on concrete, didn't sleep the 2 nights we were there. The toilet blocked up, our room should have been a King executive suite, which it was except the bed was a queen and not a King. There was a mini fridge in the room, but not working. We were on the 6th floor, and a room 3 doors down, must have had a leak, as the there was a nasty moldy stain on the carpet and the wall was peeling and moist, it smelt bad and moldy when walking past the room. Plenty of stains on the hallway carpet through out. The air vents in our room were thick with dust. The only positive comment about the hotel, was the lobby lounge, recently remodeled, very nice and the food was very good. The price for the English breakfast buffet was a little pricey 16.95 pounds per person, not worth it. I also had concerns about their security, I noticed that there were about 8 crew bags lined up against the wall by the hostess stand of the restaurant. They were not secured, and looked un slightly. Anyone could have walked up and placed something in one of the bags and no one would have noticed. Those bags was left unattended for quite sometime and being a guest of the hotel made me feel uncomfortable. Especially nowadays with what's going on in the world. I mentioned my concerns to the front desk clerk, and his response was "oh they are just fine", nothing to worry about !!!!!!! So with that being sad, I don't think we will be staying there again. read more
