Based on earlier conversations, verbal and via email, which at first made them seem helpful, one can only surmise they didn't think there was enough money in it. Even though they charge a high minimum. They wasted my time and probably will waste your time as well. This disdainful and disrespectful attitude towards potential customers should dissuade anyone from considering using this company. There are plenty of other Handyman services that are legit and truly helpful.

When I complained the owner aggressively defended his crew. Opposite of the customer is always right. They specifically agreed to put the new unit where I wanted it in the attic, I got NOTHING of the kind. They just stuck where it was easiest/quickest for them. When I balked, THE OWNER'S snap reply was that the person representing him at the time was no longer with them. Now it is almost impossible to access the furnace. They ran the furnace exhaust pipe to a completely different roof vent, again, one that was easier. The FILTER HOUSING was BOTCHED - they put in using sheet larger head metal screws that PROTRUDED INTO THE FILTER HOUSING such that the replaceable pleated filter's frame was crushed. An air diverter was put on the wall without using the new painted screws; instead they used fugly sheet metal screws AND screwed them in so tight the register doesn't set flat on the wall. Crocker came out and inspected my HVAC system. A few days later I received a phone call from Jim who wanted to personally come out and take a look at things - no charge. Jim walked me through the HVAC system, pointing out what was incorrect and what needed to be done in order to fix the issues and be up to code. This company will make you bankrupt! I called them for a tune up of our AC unit in March and they…read moresent a technician who made the system work after changing numerous parts. The total bill was nearly $900. We did not use the system until June and discovered that it did not start. I suspected a failure of one of the numerous parts that were replaced and anticipated that the warranty for the parts would cover the service call. Their technician came in the morning and started to replace some of the same parts that were installed three months earlier. He also replaced a motherboard, contactor, coil (both were brand new), and took apart the unit covers and the thermostat. After four hours, the technician declared that he had to stop as he was to miss his lunch time. As he was leaving, he mentioned that the problem was a short in two wires ... and that the blower motor fried during his testing procedure. He never bothered to reinstall the covers or the thermostat. The bill for his "service" is $1,000. When the technician left, the AC was in worse shape than when he arrived, and Crocker expects me to pay to make my system inoperable. If you want to have Crocker come to destroy your system, bill you for unneeded parts in the hope that you will install a new system, then Crocker is who to call. Otherwise, save your money and call an HVAC business that is not a crook.

Estimate came in quickly and was reasonable so I agreed to proceed to do the work. Steven did all the communicating with Southern California Edison and I was never cced on emails or looped in despite requesting to be. As replacement date neared I contacted steven a few days before to discuss details. He informed me the need to reschedule as too close to labor day. I said ok no problem. A few days before second replacement date Steven dropped by looked over the panel again and told me everything was on for 9/16/25 at 8am with SCE scheduled to come disconnect power with him completing the job same day and SCE to reconnect. Sounded great I made arrangement for the family to be out of the house all day. Long story short no one showed up, not steven not SCE. I called and texted steven multiple times, left voicemail with no response. I gave him 24 hours benefit of the doubt just in case something unforeseen occurred. Nothing. I finally reached out to SCE to see if I was ever on their schedule. I was told that I was scheduled both times and the electrician cancelled last minute both times . Most recently I was told that the electrician told SCE that he is not rescheduling and simply canceling with no intention of doing the job. Where was that communication with me? Steven, this has been one of the most unprofessional interactions I have been involved in. If the job was too big , too small, too medium, too complex, not complex enough, you are too busy, not busy enough all you had to do was say so. Instead you wasted my time for over one month and I am left having to do this all over again with a different company. I would never recommend this company to anyone. I have never spent the time leaving a bad review on yelp but this one was warranted.
