We moved to SB recently and purchased a cottage that needed a wide range of updates and fixes. Our realtor recommended Edward the Fix-It Guy. These guys are AMAZING. They took care of the major infrastructure and craft carpentry work as well as all the small detailed items. In 4 weeks they re-wired the house and put in all new recessed/pendant lighting, re-insulated the attic, replaced a bad water heater, found and fixed several leaky pipes, added new trim to every room, updated built-ins, put in new craftsman doors and hardware (which look AWESOME). They also took care of many little details such as hanging the TV, putting up new towel racks, and much more. It was top quality work with exceptional customer service. The staff was friendly and professional. Edward was incredibly responsive and was helpful in recommendations beyond the work his team did. We had a great experience with Edward and his very friendly wife who responds to phone messages. I assist an elderly blind woman. We had security screen doors installed by other painters who painted her home inside and out. Long story short, the security doors were not installed correctly, hard to open, and unsafe in an emergency. Edward came over to evaluate and Gustavo showed up the next day working for over an hour. All doors and repaired and work great! But the most outstanding thing about Edward is that he refused any sort of payment. That is AMAZING in this day and age. He wanted to help an elderly person out as he assumed she was on a fixed income. Bravo to you Edward, your wife, and how you are running your business. Thank you so much!! I was more than please with the work that Edward did. It was excellent. He installed a screen door for me as an ADA accommodation. When a part on the door I had bought was broken, he went the extra mile to replace the door, coming on a Sunday morning to complete the work. It was obvious that doing a good job is important to him because he is someone who takes pride in his work. Our cleaning lady was running the vacuum when we smelled what definitely was an electrical fire (such a distrinctive smell! She unplugged the vacuum cleaner and we called Edward. He sent someone out the next day - Gustavo. It turns out our townhouse, which was built in 1974, had old style electrical outlets that did not hold the plug in place snuggly enough and allowed the vibration of the vacuuum to run against the wires in the outlet. Luckily, a pervious owner had replaced all of the outlets in our kitchen with GFI plugs (ground fault interreupter outlets, so those are okay, but Gustavo showed us the burned wires that were inside the old outlet and it was clear that we were minutes away from an electrical fire starting in our wall! read more

We had some trouble with our electric water heater because we had a loose breaker switch. Despite my limited knowledge of anything electrical, Edward was so kind and helped troubleshoot the problem over the phone. When we decided that the problem needed an official appointment, Edward got us taken care of quickly. He sent out Gus, who was kind, wore a mask (thank you) and is well informed. He replaced the fried breaker switch easily. Both of these guys went out of their way to help us out and I would recommend them to anyone in need of professional, competent work. read more

Sadly, even before hiring Edward, despite his award ranking in the Independent, it is clear he is not the detailed, time sensitive, thoughtful, service provider I was lead to believe he was. Phone calls, if returned, had limited response. When that failed, the same thing with emails. On the day of the appointment, 10 minutes before he was scheduled to arrive he realized he never asked for my address. Then 15 minutes after our appointed time he called to say he left without the address. Worse, after that last straw, when I concluded this would not be a successful working relationship, his response was to insult me. Perhaps if and when he does show up, he and his crew might do a good job, but I will never know. read more

We are very happy with Edward and his team of specialists that were able to repair and improved our home very promptly! They installed a venting fan in our laundry room, which required more than the typical ceiling cutting because of the special layers built into this building. They did a great job. Since we had some paint on hand, they repainted the area as well. The other project was identifying the water-closet leak and repair the damaged surrounding walls. Again, they fixed this problem, dry-walled and painted this area. They cleaned after themselves nicely too, which I also appreciate. Edward and his team was very professional, informative and friendly. I love that I didn't have to call on 3 different companies to fix our issues. I love that I can just call on Edward and he has specialists for each type of work. It's like a one-stop shop and I love this. His rate is competitive and worth every penny for a job well done.
