Yet apparently me and my friend were being followed by a manager of some sort on duty that came up to me, yanked my items from my hands and yelled "You think I didn't hear that threat you made about me?!" Which was quite off putting seeing as I've never seen her, acknowledged her or had any interaction with her in life. She demanded I leave at which point me and my friend kinda just laughed it off as we were instructed to leave my cart and exit the store. But we realized she had radioed the entire staff to surround us and harass us at the door. She then proceeded to follow us to our car and take pictures of our license plate. Needless to say because of this super weird interaction I'll probably never visit any hobby lobby again in my life. My money belongs to be spent somewhere I can feel safe, this was unbelievably outrageous.

I had some magic the gathering cards cards I wanted to sell and my usual go to shop put a pretty high minimum price they were willing to trade or buy at. I gave This shop a call to ask about their policy. I spoke with one of the owners about what I had and asked their policy on buying cards. Also in my opinion they have the best policy for cash purchases of all the card shops. ( To save time make sure you have an idea of the price on your cards on TCGplayer market) The co-owner I spoke with was very helpful and pleasant on the phone and told me to come on into the shop and we can work out a deal. I got to the shop with my cards and unfortunately it turns out the two owners had just gotten back from a trade show in Anehiem over the weekend so had quite a few customers looking to do trades ahead of me. They deal in sports and TCG(magic, pokemon, lorcana,etc...)cards. The guy I spoke with I can't remember his name...I remember it starts with an L I'm thinking Leroy greeted me right away and apologized that there were two people ahead of me. It gave me a chance to browse the shop. It was nice and organized. Clean with a decent stock and plenty of tables for customers to use for trades or to play. While I waited the conversation was pleasant and I received quite a few food recommendations I haven't tried out yet so that will be in another review. It was taking awhile and the other owner Chris stepped on even though he doesn't typically deal in magic. We worked together and came up with the prices of the card and the deal we were working. This was a very nice interaction. I wasn't questioned on every price I pulled up online and never felt like the business suspected me of trying to rip them off and I never felt like they were trying to rip me off(which I have gotten that impression in some other shops). Chris completed the deal even though it was out of his normal wheelhouse we had a solid handshake and they have just made a repeat customer out of me. I highly recommend doing business with these two partners. Top notch guys and business.

They host a variety of events throughout the week that seem to be beginners friendly which I myself am and look forward to attending when in the area next. Great shop and great staff as well. Friendly and overall a great environment. Everything is reasonably priced as well and they always give a good deal!

Seems like things are in flux at Mike's Trains. We made a special trip to Lompoc yesterday,…read moreheading south from San Luis Obispo. We were planning to check out / purchase hopefully several of his handmade birdhouses. We've bought a number of them in the past. That was when he had one room as an annex to a larger gift shop. Now that gift shop is gone (or moved?) and Mike is taking over both rooms. The renovation is still ongoing. When we arrived on a Monday afternoon the shop was closed, and there wasn't a sign in the window indicating the days that they are open. We could glance inside and see the remodeling and remerchandising going on, mainly to the secondary room which used to be their only space. We could see a number of birdhouses through the windows of both rooms. The prices have increased since we were last there two years ago. I can understand this - aftermath of inflation. Had the shop been open, we would have been a quandary on making a purchase. We have kept some of the birdhouses ourselves, gave them as gifts, and resold a couple after adding a few tweaks of our own. The current price point makes it harder to think of the latter purpose. Wishing Mike well in his new, expanded space. There aren't that many train hobby shops any longer, so hopefully he'll flourish.
