They really have it all at Nemo's. It's one of those places where you need to experience it. They have cassettes and CDs to go along with the records. They have comic books, games, and other collectibles that make it a place where you'll probably be able to find a gift for that special someone. It's a massive store and be careful of the hours. Seems like what is on the door is different than what is on the internet.

The Spiderman coin machine one just kept going long after I thought we used enough tokens in the game! We didn't get to spend the tickets we earned this time around but the prizes looked like better quality prizes compared to the other places. We will definitely be coming back when we have more time!

However, I'm giving a one-star rating due to their severely overpriced retro games and consoles. I understand the overhead costs, repairs, and testing required to ensure products work, but most items are marked up at least 20% higher than other local game stores. I came in specifically looking to support local business by buying a PSP-3001, but they wanted $220 for just the console and charger. For comparison, I found a bundled PSP on eBay with preloaded games for $180. There are plenty of other retro game stores in the area with much fairer, more competitive pricing. Even standard retailers like GameStop offer better deals along with 1 to 2 year extended warranties. Great atmosphere, but the prices are hard to justify.

The selection of board games was small, but they had popular ones like the Settlers of Catan, Seafareres of Catan, many different variety/themes of Munchkin, and even Monopoly! This is a great place for a boy to spend time at.

I then am completely taken aback by the tone and say "nope, we're just browsing." And the worker responds, "ok well i was just trying to greet you so..." At the desk she was at, was a man visiting that clearly was a friend or boyfriend and they then proceeded to laugh and roll their eyes. She was clearly upset that we walked in on her conversation while she was at work. I really hope this was a one-off situation as we are really surprised at the attitude of this employee and were hoping to find a new local bookstore. I hate posting reviews like this especially when they seem like "drama" but attitude is everything. If you're not going to greet people when they walk in-- fine. But if someone says hello upon walking in, you should at least say hi back, even if you're with another customer. Might have to go somewhere else from now on! Bummer.

Wandered into this store out of curiosity a while ago, and haven't considered going anywhere else since. The gentleman running the place was very kind in all of my experiences, so I'm beginning to wonder if there's another "Games Exchange" that people think they're reviewing negatively. Anyways, the prices are beyond reasonable, and on a few occasions it felt like I was ripping the store off! During my first trip there, I walked up to the register with an almost brand new controller and 110 cards for $45. Then the owner even offered to drop the price down to $30! At one point I even went to other stores to compare prices, and found that some were charging even double or triple what they were asking for at Games Exchange. You can't beat them. That goes for trade-ins as well! So long as you make a reasonable offer, the owner accepts with no problems. Keep in mind of resale value people. You make yourself look foolish by bickering over a few bucks. Games Exchange is probably one of my best experiences that I've ever had when it comes to game-oriented stores, and they have won me over as a customer. If I had to choose one thing to complain about, it would be the look of the place. But once you blow the dust out of the way, you'll find a hidden gem. I'll gladly keep coming back, and recommend the place to any and all who enjoy what they can offer. read more

I was looking through cards here one day and kids were laughing, running around and having fun.. they then started asking the owner(Tony) questions. I just hear him mutter (I hate f***** kids). This made me feel bad for the kids. Not only that I have been a loyal customer spending $1000+ dollars there and the owner started spreading lies that I was a theif and that I sold him stolen goods. NONE of which is true. All cards came from my collection as a child. I am an honest person. So, I confronted Tony(the owner) and he proceeded to cus at me, telling me to get out of store. Don't support this business!! He is a angry and sad person. I used to try and support this store as much as possible. Untill I saw the stores true colors.. I know other that have had bad experiences as well.. please do not support this store! Go to Bet Breaks in grover Beach. A way friendlier card store! read more

Really love this place. Tony ALWAYS gives me a great deal when I come in. I'm not much of a gamer but I do find some gems now and then for my husband's gaming habit. I love buying movies here and trading them in for $1. All discs on the shelves are cleaned so I get a steal of a deal with $2 and $3 movies that are like new! The selection is vast from trading card games to records to some new games and movies. It's not like other stores because the selection mostly depends on what people trade in and I like that about it. The store often has classic games and systems that stores don't carry anymore and that's why I love it. read more

This is my favorite game shop, record store and all around (sports) memorabilia and nostalgia (comics) stop. The owner and employees are reasonable and respectable people that have an all around knowledge of everything in the shop. With new random deals every day the best way to keep up with what's going on at the shop is either facebook or just going in. Also Tony will allow just about anyone to host just about any game and sometimes offers prizes for buy ins! The place is also known to buy used movies, games and records or just about anything shop related for cash or even sweeter deals on store credit! read more

Its called Games Exchange, but it should be a pawn shop. I like that they give you credit when you bring in old movies, toys, and even vhs. I brought in about 15 dvds and got 20 dollars worth of store credit. So I used it and bought a super Nintendo system, still in box by the way. So altogether, I gave him 15 dvds, and $30 for the super Nintendo. I'll be back with more dvds and vhs and try to get the pink Floyd picture they got or the old Atari system. too bad they did not have super Mario brothers for the system I bought. maybe next time. read more

My husband and I always look forward to coming to Games Exchange when we take trips to the coast! Tony always gives us such an excellent deal that we never leave empty handed! Not a bad place to find rare items like toys, old game system and movies. I come here every other day and sometime I find something I NEED to get. The store is pretty chill, everyone keeps to themselves unless you have questions. They're big dodger fans so expect the Tv to be blasting when the dodgers are playing. But overall, its a small business, chill people, and rare items. Good if you collect things. read more

I gave This shop a call to ask about their policy. I spoke with one of the owners about what I had and asked their policy on buying cards. Also in my opinion they have the best policy for cash purchases of all the card shops. ( To save time make sure you have an idea of the price on your cards on TCGplayer market) The co-owner I spoke with was very helpful and pleasant on the phone and told me to come on into the shop and we can work out a deal. I got to the shop with my cards and unfortunately it turns out the two owners had just gotten back from a trade show in Anehiem over the weekend so had quite a few customers looking to do trades ahead of me. They deal in sports and TCG(magic,pokemon, lorcana,etc...)cards. The guy I spoke with I can't remember his name...I remember it starts with an L I'm thinking Leroy greeted me right away and apologized that there were two people ahead of me. It gave me a chance to browse the shop. It was nice and organized. Clean with a decent stock and plenty of tables for customers to use for trades or to play. While I waited the conversation was pleasant and I received quite a few food recommendations I haven't tried out yet so that will be in another review. It was taking awhile and the other owner Chris stepped on even though he doesn't typically deal in magic. We worked together and came up with the prices of the card and the deal we were working. This was a very nice interaction. I wasn't questioned on every price I pulled up online and never felt like the business suspected me of trying to rip them off and I never felt like they were trying to rip me off(which I have gotten that impression in some other shops). Chris completed the deal even though it was out of his normal wheelhouse we had a solid handshake and they have just made a repeat customer out of me. I highly recommend doing business with these two partners. Top notch guys and business.

They host a variety of events throughout the week that seem to be beginners friendly which I myself am and look forward to attending when in the area next. Great shop and great staff as well. The staff were all very friendly which is a major plus. This place is definitely on the list for next time.

Cheap good Sure, the books are all over the place, but like…read morethis is a true bookstore got a lot of different variety. I found the language books near. I think the stairwell area or maybe it was near the door that had just a cloth over it in the room to the right I think it was just really cool to find some Egyptian books and geological section was just pretty big and when it's overfilled, it just has piles on the floor and it's its own thing which is just really cool I brought my friend with me and she felt like weird vibes from whoever was at the front desk, but I wasn't upfront there too long so I didn't feel or see that Some of the space gave like Fnaf feeling like the children's section with the LED light that's kind of faded. I think in like the slanted roof and just like the doorway with only a cloth over it and kind of a dark corner. Nothing really against that. Just kind of a creepy silly feeling. It definitely had like all of the young adult and just teen books that anyone could want I think it's a really great place
