What a terrible company. My car was towed they have it for 4 hours, they are closed on Saturdays so had to pay an after hour fee. $700. Had a vehicle break down on the side of HWY 395 not far outside of Pasco. Called and told the service my location. I was told it would be $75+ tax and confirmed that on the phone. When the tow truck driver showed up I was told it was $275 + tax or the driver could just leave. I called the office back after hearing this news and then I was told the call was recorded and the person I had talked to told me they played the call back while we're in the middle of talking and confirmed they said $275, but they didn't. I was lied too and they hiked the price up $200 and didn't give me any options and told the driver to leave unless I paid. Horrible service and they are a scam. Avoid this company and call any other place! read more

It was a RAD towing flatbed that was dispatched through BMW Roadside Assistance for my BMW motorcycle when I broke down between Waitsburg and Clarkston. Roadside assistance told me they would be there in 70 minutes. The driver called about 45 minutes later and was there shortly after, so early. Unlike an experience I had in California last year the RAD driver was extremely friendly and very competent at strapping down a motorcycle. It was a couple hour drive to the nearest dealer and my daughter and I enjoyed talking with the driver. He was extremely interesting and friendly. Unloading the bike went as smoothly as loading it did. A great driver and a great experience. read more

Not nice people. I was parked in a poorly lit spot without an obvious sign to not park there. $300 cash or else they take my car away. Who carries $300 cash on them all the time? This company lacks compassion. Basically extortionists. The alternative was to let him take my car away and have to pay over $400 to get it from his tow yard tomorrow. Completely rude and unwilling to be a human being about the situation. Now I get to beg my girlfriend to come pay this guy for parking in the wrong spot...in an uncrowded parking lot that I have never been to before. He could put my car down and let me go on my way, but they lack the human compassion to understand that sometimes people park in the wrong spot. I wasn't blocking anyone in or creating any sort of a hazard. I got no warning, nothing. Just pay up $300 or else. Despicable! I used them the other day to get my car home when it broke down. The dispatcher was thorough and professional. The driver arrived promptly and worked shockingly fast. My car was back home in no time. I'm using them again Friday to get my car to the dealership so hopefully I'll have another good experience. A little pricy IMO but I don't have any other companies to compare it to. Sounds like most of the negative reviews are people mad because they violated the law and got towed. May I humbly recommend against breaking the law or parking in restricted areas? read more

I lived in an apartment and the new owner didn't like me very much so when I bought a used car, he called RAD towing up and this company stole my car that was parked within 10ft from my back door!!! I called every tow company until RAD towing told me that they had the owner of the property call and request that my car be towed. When I explained to then that I lived there and I owned the car, they didn't care at all! I went down to get my car out of their yard but they wanted $500 for the tow and for storing it in their yard. I took them to court and they told the judge that they sold my car at auction because I never came down to claim my car. Remember, they stole my car that was parked within 10ft of my back door!! The judge ordered them to pay me for the cost of my car and to not tow a vehicle parked on private property, especially if it's parked right outside of someone's home without the car owners permission!! They did end up paying $1000 so I bought a truck. I informed the landlord that I had just purchased a truck and to not call and have it towed. But it happened again!! RAD towing showed up while I was not home and stole my truck. They broke the lock on my door and then broke the locking ignition so they could tow my truck. I called the police but they did nothing about this tow company stealing my truck. I ended up taking RAD towing and the landlord both to court and got my truck back but they refused to pay to have the door lock replaced and the locking ignition replaced. Both the landlord and RAD towing had to compensate me for around $2500 for all the problems they caused me and for stealing my vehicles. I would not recommend RAD towing for ANY service at all!! They are thieves who will blackmail you just to get your car back that they towed illegally in the first place!! They should be shut down permanently!! The owners should be arrested for all the crimes they have committed since they opened up for business!! Crooked people who are rude, inconsiderate and threatening people who come in to claim their vehicle that they RAD towing stole off of private property in the first place!! read more

Don't call Rad Towing if you value your time. Called to get a tow, was told it would be a 45-60 minute wait. After 90 minutes, I called again (the woman who answered the phone the second time was quite rude) and was told the driver was called to an accident and it would be at least another hour. Didn't even have the courtesy to call and let me know they were running behind. Won't be using them again, and I will recommend others avoid them as well. read more

RE: Being towed/impounded because of broken down car in my apartment complex parking lot (no assigned parking). I want to give 5 stars, as the office assistant, Meghan, definitely deserves 5 stars! However, I am rating the business in general, not only her performance, and I do have one complaint about a business practice that I just don't find reasonable after 2 different experiences with them. More on that in a minute. I did definitely find Meghan to be very kind, helpful, fun, inquisitive about important things, and actually quite giving! I can tell she loves people and isn't in this business to hurt or take advantage of anyone. She put me at ease and helped me organize my thoughts as I tried to navigate a very difficult, emotionally painful, and costly experience that I'd been trying to avoid, but was financially unable to jump through all the hurdles required of me, in order to do that. She's definitely a team player who understands what customer service is and the importance of treating people who have been impounded like real, valuable human beings. She was very clear about what the rules were, who's responsible for what, and so on, but she also has good listening skills and allowed me to communicate my concerns when I raised them, as those came up in the process of getting my car off the lot and to it's "final resting place." I also had a good experience when I called over the weekend and spoke with James, one of their towing drivers, and I am grateful for his answering all of my questions honestly and caringly! Alright, so to the business practice I am really displeased with. First, a caveat: To be clear, WA State Law allows this business practice that I just don't find reasonable, so part of my gripe is with our State Legislature passing laws that don't take the needs of apartment complex residents into account equally with the needs of apartment complex owners/management. Another part of my gripe is that, while RAD Towing lists on their web site all the reasons for why apartment managers would want to have cars impounded, it doesn't equally list all the reasons that apartment complex owners/managers would want to think about actually showing some professional customer service skills towards their residents prior to signing off on having autos towed off of their parking lots. The business practice I think needs some serious revision is the practice of only putting a warning sticker on peoples car windows giving them 24 hours notice before their cars are removed. However, the length of time isn't the biggest problem (I do think it should be extended to 72 hours though). The main problem is that it's only a sticker on a car window, with the naive expectation that, of course, residents will happen to need to drive their cars during that particular 24 hour window. This doesn't properly communicate with the owner of the car; rather, it only communicates with a piece of glass attached to a car on the assumption that, of course, everyone drives their cars more than once per day (which is utterly absurd). When residents have listed their vehicles with their apartment management office workers, it's supposed to mean something; it's not just a formality. It's supposed to mean that they will be called by the apartment management office in a timely manner if their vehicle has been identified as having some problem that needs immediate attention. My car was always registered with my apartment management office, and yet I was not notified in-person prior to being towed about either incident in which my car was towed. They did sign off on the paperwork that listed my license plate number, so they had an opportunity to cross-check that number with their records and fully attempt to contact me in-person, which they did not do. I feel that RAD Towing would best serve the needs of the community by refusing to tow a car from an apartment complex parking lot until the management office staff have checked & confirmed that the license plate number does not match their records, or until 72 hours after they have called a resident and either spoken with them face-to-face or have at least left a complete voicemail and followed up with a fully sealed letter taped to the resident's door along with some loud knocking on the resident's door. While WA State Law doesn't require any of this, RAD Towing would likely get nothing but 5 star reviews here and elsewhere if they would follow this one simple procedure. It's what's fair to tax paying WA State residents and what's fair to local residents here in the Tri-Cities, as well as to our apartment complex owners/managers. It's what WA State Law should reflect. No towing company should be allowed to financially profit on the backs of the poor by using stickers on peoples' windows as the only means of communicating with them about their cars. Whether it's intentional or not, that's exactly what's happening here, and it's both immoral and unethical. read more

Towed my vehicle after a fender bender. Told me they HAD TO take it to the yard for insurance purposes. Was not true. Neither the responding officer OR my insurance knew why my request to tow it home was dismissed, other than they wanted the ridiculous charge. Charged $200+ for 20 hours on their lot and were INCREDIBLY RUDE when I was retrieving my vehicle. I will specifically request ANY tow company other than Rad if in a situation requiring a tow. read more

They might be nice to their customers. Don't know. But their driver in his big transporter yesterday noon was quite RUDE when he went up onto the curb to force his way into traffic at a stop light. He would have had to wait an extra 5 seconds to allow normal traffic flow to proceed. Not good PR to say the least! TERRIBLE!!! The customer service is beyond disgusting.If you have a question or concern regarding anything about a tow on your vehicle don't bother because these people don't care. They cannot have a civil conversation with anyone. My car was towed which is fine I'm not hurting for money in any way, the problem I had was, it was towed at a time that was incorrect on my paperwork, I call back to ask about it not asking for my money but what was the problem and why, well the manager Brian Dickinson told me I was on speaker phone and paraded I was a "Liar" that if I wanted anything (automatically assumes I want money back) says to take it to court he has been in business for years and he will take witnesses to prove me wrong. My Mazda 3 was towed improperly out of an apartment complex in less than ten minutes. After taking the bft to their tow yard I was insistent on getting my wallet out of the car. This would have been 8 years ago or so. When a man appeared from the back and lifted his vest and showed me his pistol he had that he had. I wrote a check then he got my wallet. I never use rad! If I would have known it was assault to threaten someone by revealing a fire arm I would have called the police. He had long hair I can still remember it vividly. read more

Rad Towing was called by my insurance company to tow my 2006 Ford F-250 to the dealership. They were about 35-40 minutes late. Upon getting my truck fixed the dealership took it for a test drive and the tie-rod was totally bent from where the driver hooked it up. The mechanic form the dealership said the only way that could have happened was from being towed. We then took it to Les Schwab to get it fixed (less expensive than the dealership- who did a great job with the other diesel repairs) and they also stated that the damaged had to be caused by being towed. We called Rad Towing three times to report the damage and the receptionist kept saying the owner would call us back but he never did. So we had to file a claim for the $800 damage that they did to our vehicle. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. read more

My insurance Carrier dispatched this co. to jump dead battery. This scenario lasted almost two hours...Imagine five degrees...you're freezing...battery wont charge....road service guy has manually pushed your car from a parking spot in your apt. community to a roadway because he doesn't carry a jump box and his jumper cables are too short ( first clue)..jump fails...guy gives two choices, 1. Allow him to tow car to a mechanic of choice ( dont know any mechanics but I'm pretty sure I dont trust this guy to refer me to a reliable mechanic) 2. Allow him to leave your car in roadway, cuz he cant push it back into the spot he pushed it out of. (albiet, bitter cold, icy night)...but shouldn't he have anticipated what would happen if it didnt start?(second clue). Get a call from his "boss"... a condascending woman, with screaming kids in the background, who explains your car battery isnt dead...it's the starter!!! Ofcourse, we ALL know the starter is just fine....and the battery is deader than a doornail...but you cant feel your fingers, toes, lips...and youre FREEZING so... why attend the freak show right?!(Clue #3). We decided on a third option...load car on flatbed...back into parking space....start putting car down, then DROP...yes DROP the front end of the car. Maybe he even had a good laugh...cuz if you're the kind of person who would threaten to leave someone stranded in a worse position than they were in BEFORE your arrival, why would anyone expect you to follow a moral compass? Lesson for others: This company is a TOW company...NOT a roadside assistance company. AVOID them. read more

This company attempted to tow our car out of our own, paid parking space at our apartment because our neighbor said it was too crooked. That's not even the pathetic part. They had it on the trailer but not strapped down yet and still wanted $250 to not take it to their yard. (But if they spent the time to tow it and do paperwork it'd of only been $270.. So we went to the ATM and came back with $260 but weren't given change. And had to argue for a receipt! I guess what's the most frustrating is that they charge $60 to "tow" a vehicle yet charge $250 to just put it on their trailer in an attempted impound. Then you call to get some answers and you get the joy of being talked to by some condescending woman who works there and threatens to see you in court. Guess $250, attempted tows, for questionable reasons should be accepted with a smile. Please don't waste your time and don't support this company cause they're only money hungry crooks.
