Highly recommended!! I previously was quoted for a little over $1300 at a different auto repair shop for things that were "needing immediate attention" and was actually refused an alignment because I couldn't afford the $500 needed to buy these kits that were "mandatory" to be able to do the alignment. I was referred to Mel's through discount Tire. Gave them a call and explained the situation as well as what the previous shop said. I was able to get in within 2 weeks, and it only took that long because of the kits I said were needed would take a while to do, as well as working around my schedule. Dropped it off at 12:40 even though my appointment wasn't until 1:15 and got a call by 2:30 saying it was done. A total of $75 instead of the insane amount the other auto repair shop was trying to charge me. I will for sure be continuing my business here and recommending to anyone else! read more

My vehicle went to Mel's for repairs after a collision. I have only been in the Tri-Cities for a few years. I grew up in Las Vegas. NV around auto repair and body shops, so when it comes to these things, I'm a picky perfectionist. My biggest fear going to a new to me body shop is paint. Almost anyone can replace a part on a vehicle; it's nuts, bolts, and clips, but white paint especially with an iridescent flake, is even more difficult. Mel's matched the paint exactly and with few adjustments after my first attempt to pick my vehicle up, I'm glad to say it's perfect! They even cleaned my vehicle out and detailed it before I drove it off. I would highly recommend them to anyone who asks and will bring my vehicles to them going forward. read more

Honest, reliable work. We've had an alignment done recently and today the AC serviced and freon topped off on our son's car as we're making sure it's ready for travel to an out-of-state college. Mels' fixed my truck after a parking lot hit & run. The repair involved the cab, bed, & back door and the paint is pearlescent; not an easy repair. Wow, they nailed it perfectly. Pulled up with my car that was clearly in an accident and asked for an estimate. The secretary glanced at it and stated she was worried there may be "internal damage" and I told her I had just taken it to mechanic and it they didn't mention any structural damage to which she replied "what do you mean?" This already soured the experience. I came in asking for an estimate by a mechanic, not a secretary/greeter/whatever. Anyway, after the estimate was completed I was told it would be $7000 to fix a car worth less than $3000. I looked over the estimate and found they charge $550 + labor for a new hood (over 2 times the price I can get a capa certified replacement online, including shipping) and also they're charging me for a new grill and hood ornament at the same ridiculous upcharged prices. Also they tried saying I need a whole new mirror fixture even though all the issue was is the mirror fell out of the housing and after 10 minutes of messing with it, it was good as new. There was no actual explanation of if I can just repair specific parts of the car in order to at least getting it street-legal (I don't need to spend $120 on a new hood ornament among various other random fixes) instead I was told it was a "liability issue" and that "cars are expensive" Sure glad I brought my car into these "experts" to be told cars are expensive. All in all, this place was trying to rip me off the best they could and I suppose I'm thankful for it because now I'm confident enough to repair more things on my car myself. So unless you want a crash course lesson in fixing your car yourself, I recommend staying far away from Mel's Inter-City Daylight Robbery. read more

Mel's Intercity Colission is the place to AVOID if you are getting your car painted. Bad service, BAD job and what's worse, they don't care. We took our car in for a new paint job and they did not do the whole car... They offered to paint the spots they missed "if you want to leave it and pay more. These spots were not included in our estimate." What does paint the entire car mean???? Everything except these spots the really need it, then come back so I can charge more? Seems like $2,200 should be more than enough to do everything, don't you think? read more

IN fact my parents and I both have been using Mel's for this amount of time and we currently own together ~9-10 vehicles. AVOID MELS Intercity Collision at all cost if you are getting collision repair! I should have read reviews on YELP first. I brought my truck into Mel's to have the plastic door trim strips repainted. I was told that they were otherwise in great shape and that they could be repainted without the need to replace them. When they finished with my truck the newly painted trim was full of small 1-inch circular raised ding-like imperfections that were obviously caused by prying the old trim off of the truck for painting. When I attempted to get resolution they refused to let me talk to the owner and he also didn't respond to my letter. One of the ladies that work the front desk (and do the estimating) also mentioned that old trim sometimes does this...like somehow I should have known to have them replace the trim with new material prior to painting. Hey...They are the "experts"...not me. I trusted them to know their business and they proved to be completely incompetent and worse...DISHONEST. I would never recommend this business. read more
