So, I bought a Yonex VT60 and decided to get it strung with Nanogy 99. Owner wanted to get my stringing done by around 4. (I believe John was his name.) I realized that I couldn't had business to do at 4 so I called up the shop and asked them if they could get it done earlier. He said he could get it done around 1. Luckily for him, I was quite patient. He didn't complete the racket until 2:30. I had to wait about an hour and a half more. Wasn't really happy about the time it took, but glad he got it done earlier than the expected time. Prices for badminton gear is incredibly low and under MSRP. Especially the shuttlecocks. Very nice people. Good place to get gear, but make sure that you know what time you really want your racket strung. read more

I got my racquet string here a week ago and the strings already broke. After telling me that Jason would string it for free, Jason went on and on about how "I broke my own strings" and wanted me to pay for it. He became confrontational and belligerent and loud and even ignorant. Jason went on and on about how "people don't trust him..." a highly unstable man who can not take questioning and he's also high strung. Never any issues here as my son always gets his racquet strung at Racquet Edge. The owner is quiet but in time he gets used to you and you get used to him. Nice guy once you get to know him. Service is always great and consistent. Price in the shop are really good and they have a lot of product. They honestly deserve a bigger space to show all the gear they have. A small and somewhat cluttered shop, The Racquet Edge carries a very large variety of basically anything and everything needed to outfit any tennis player, both seasoned and new to the court. At first glance, this place is a bit overwhelming and slightly confusing - there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to its layout and feels strangely messy and somewhat uncomfortable while walking among all the merchandise. The shop owner is a quiet guy [at least during my visit] and helped to recommend me a new set of strings and ideal tension for my style of play. So long as you tell him what you need, he'll help you find what you're looking for in the shop. An excellent shop, prices aren't too high, and the owner keeps the transaction between you and him short and to the point - no funny business to be found here. Let's start off by saying that Yelp's 1 Star rating is too generous for this place. I was in this place about 6 months ago and was so unhappy with the service that I felt the need to publish my disappointment. I read the good reviews on Yelp and thought they deserved my business rather than an online retailer since I own several brick and mortar businesses myself. I took a 35 minute drive to get here and was not once greeted by the two men working there that day. And there was only one customer in the store, sitting in a beach chair watching TV with the owner of the shop. After browsing around for 10 minutes, I finally walked up to the employee who was leaning again the counter, also watching TV and asked for help. It was my friend's 50th birthday and I wanted to buy him (5) Wilson Pro Staff 95 and a couple of reels of Lux ALU Rough. I asked the salesman how much of a discount could I get if I bought 5-6 racquets and wanted to verify they had the grip size I needed in stock. He told me he had to talk to the owner, who was sitting about 3 feet from us!!!! The owner didn't introduce himself, but rather said "I give you price when you ready to buy" and he didn't even have the courtesy to take his eyes off the TV!!!!! Ready to buy!!!! Why am I here???!!!! Unbelievable!!!! I left immediately and called The Racquet Doctor, which by the way may be a bit further, but the prices are better and the service is much better than this pathetic excuse for a tennis shop. Unfortunately, they didn't have them in stock so I phoned my order into Tennis Warehouse. I was greeted kindly and they of course had the racquets and strings in stock ready to ship out the next day. The salesman even recommended a very nice Wilson 9 pack bag that he thought would complete the gift nicely. I ended up buying a couple of reels of B5E for myself and a couple of pairs of Courtballistecs 4.3, which I love BTW. I ended up spending a little over $2,000 after a good discount. Since that day I have not been back to the Racquet Edge and have told everyone at my club to ban this place. Store owners need to learn that it's the customer service that keeps a loyal consumer. To wrap things up. Tennis Warehouse for convenience, one day shipping in California. To support your local retailer, go to the Racquet Doctor in Glendale or Tennis Pro Shop in Little Saigon. BUT whatever you do don't give these guys your hard earned money. I have also bought many more racquets as gift since that day, for my sister, nephews, friends children, etc. I love the game of tennis and promote the sport every opportunity I get. So needless to say, I usually give the gift of TENNIS. read more

This is a little Korean owned racquet shop at the corner of the plaza next to Mt. Sac. It's hard to imagine, but racquet prices here are cheaper than buying online (even when on discount). The only thing is stringing cost is pretty high so if you bought a new racquet and have it strung, it would probably cost the same as buying the same setup from TW or some other online retailer since they price their racquets higher and stringing cost is low. However, it's nice to have a brick and mortar store where you can physically feel and touch what you're about to buy. So it's a still a win-win for the customer at the end. read more

The owner of this store is incredibly unreasonable. Last year Racquet Edge held a local tournament , and I signed up to play in the singles tournament. A couple of days before the tournament, my mother was diagnosed with cancer and they scheduled an operation on the day of the tournament. I called the owner up a few days in advance to get a refund, and he simply refused. He stated that my spot in the bracket was already solidified, and unless I found someone to replace me I couldn't get my money back. As a compromise, I asked him if I could at least get store credit. He still said no. Just to give some additional information, the prize for my particular bracket was store credit. The other higher categories were the only cash prizes. He was obviously gaining a profit for the tournament, so I don't understand why he couldn't at least give me store credit. My situation does not happen every day. If cheaper prices are what you are looking for, you can always use Ebay. If you feel like shopping here on a Sunday, they are closed. I wish this was a review on the actual equipment they sell in the store, but I will never buy anything from there because of the bad taste in my mouth left by such terrible customer service. Edit: A.J, were you in my shoes? Did you hear the conversation I had with the owner? If anybody is ignorant, it's you judging my personal experience. Of course I'm not taking down this review. My daughter is new to tennis and we went to one of those big box stores to try to find her a tennis racquet. No one came to help us and their selection was not the greatest. I did a search on google maps for "tennis" and found "Racquet Edge". The one review said "owner is rude and not helpful". That could not be farther from the truth. The owner was extremely helpful making sure my daughter was getting the proper equipment. He spent quite a bit of time analyzing her swing and pairing her form with the correct racquet. No hard pressure sales. I'm glad we found this store and did not listen to the one review. read more

This store is amazing for beginners to advanced. The customer service is awesome, the owner evaluates your swing and helps you select a new racket. Then, he will custom string the racket to your style of play. He does wait until you ask for help, he is not a pushy salesman and he has good info on local events and activities. read more

crowded, disorganized little shop with a crabby old man. i was given a wrong receipt. when i asked for the correct receipt, the man yelled at me claiming that he worked too hard for customers to complained to him. when i came in the store, he was watching tv and finishing up with my racquet even though it was supposed to have been done 2 days ago.
