I still think that they should do a better job of advertising that they treat a wide range of conditions at this facility, not just cancer. I usually go to the Parham Rd location, but the past couple of appointments have been at this location with a nurse practitioner. I gotta say, I like this location so much more! It's more modern, not as stuffy (the other one is so hot!), and the staff seems more friendly. I'm usually in and out in a decent amount of time and I LOVE that they give me the option to do a finger prick instead of a vein draw for my blood tests. As someone who has so. much. anxiety about giving blood, having to do it so often has really been a personal test. Only having to get a finger prick makes the entire experience much easier on my spirit. If it's not too late, I might just switch to this location as my main one for the remainder of the pregnancy.

Start this with I'm alive and their medicine is why. That being said on the day of my…read morereconstruction after I had healed from DMX . I went I. For surgery I had a port but that could not be used for the surgery. I had two working veins left and explained that to the nurse. Unbeknownst to me she brought in a student to put in my sedation line with other medicine in my arm. Well the long and short the student went in and out the other side of my vein and was pumping medication into my arm and basically blew out the vein so that it can no longer be used two years later. But had I known it was a student she wouldn't have been doing it anyway because I only had two veins and I was not your typical patient. So I should have been informed before that happened. But then once they did get it in a different vein the surgeon came in to tell me that they did not have the right size implants for both of my boobs and that I would either have to choose to except that they would not be the same size and he could do the surgery or we would have to stop by where you were at and I would have to wait for another surgeon do you the surgery because he was leaving and going to another university. This was a quality check and should have been done prior to my surgery and they should have known this prior to me even being brought into the hospital for Surgery and there was NO excuse for this lack of quality control. None of this came up prior to this point because I was desperate to get the implants at this point and because I had done much research on the surgeon to have it done because he was a special micro surgeon which is not your typical surgeon I agreed to go ahead and do this without the right size. Because otherwise I would have to wait six months to a year to have my reconstruction. So basically after going through cancer treatment radiation and a trial that granite did save my life and I give kudos for that. I was left with being embarrassed to have my top off or being see in a Tee Shirt because the boobs were so uneven and now I have to wait to have that changed and have to go through another surgery . While again having to research another person that could do the surgery. The Surgeon that did the surgery left me with a good healing result but really none of this should have occurred. You can say this it was my fault for agreeing to the surgery initially but if you consider that I had just been through radiation , chemotherapy , a trial drug and all sorts of crazy reactions to medication . I was hooked up to an IV and in the bay getting ready for the actual surgery with my entire family waiting when I was asked without knowing all of this was coming .I made a quick decision which I shouldn't have had to make. Now that being considered the doctors I had were TERRIFIC most of the nurses were TERRIFIC but as you can tell my experience was not stellar and definitely not what I expected at all from a medical institute that is so respected. The hospital was more into what was convenient for them with little consideration given to what was convenient for the patient. You can imagine so I was a little disappointed and angry . That all said without this medical institute I would not have had the opportunity for the trial drug that saved me so all things considered I have to say I came out on the positive. I would like to see their committees on patient advocation WORK towards being more considerate of the patient and what they're going through because clearly they have a great Deficit in that area. Just remember nothing is perfect . I am giving the three stars as it is medicine after all .

They also volunteer and raise money to benefit innovative cancer research. Massey has also partnered with many student groups, clubs, and sports teams to raise cancer awareness. There are also internships and student worker opportunities for VCU students. All in all, we're so lucky to have Virginia's top rated cancer care provider in Richmond!

After he tested, he said everything looked fine and asked if I wanted additional testing. I told him no, that if everything was fine there was no need in me paying for something unnecessary. Well a couple weeks later I get two bills from Labcorp for over $800-one being for services on a date I didn't even go in. Confused, I called and basically had to argue with them over getting billed for testing that wasn't done. After so much back and forth, I pretty much got an "oops you're right, you didn't get that done." I told them I wasn't coming back for a follow up and then months later get a notification I have an appointment. Confused I tried to call-no answer of course. And it wouldn't let me leave a message. So I called later and left a message. The next day someone calls me and says I called the wrong location so I called the right one and of course no answer again. I tried to respond to the confirmation email and text to cancel but both bounced back. 4 days after the appointment date I receive a handwritten letter in the mail telling me I need to contact the office immediately. So I tried to call and no one answered and I call again and finally get ahold of someone who tells me I'm going to get charged for no showing. I asked how that was possible when I had tried multiple times to cancel to no avail and was met with a "that's not my problem" kind of tone. I questioned it again and then was told the manager would call me. The manager was really nice and waived the fee but I just don't get why the place seems determined to steal as much money as they can from someone. Will never be going back and I highly recommend finding a different facility. They also lost fax records I had sent over...

This office is probably the nicest you'll ever visit. Considering it's an overwhelming and frankly…read morescary proposition to visit, you will be instantly soothed. The staff are the kindest and the environment is calm and positive. Safety is forefront: everyone is masked, everything is impeccably cleaned, and anyone accompanying a patient must wait outside the office until called by the patient once they are settled in the examination/treatment room. The phlebotomists on staff are the best. I am admittedly a difficult stick, and the staff know every trick to make a draw an easy and pleasant experience. The only doctor whom I have seen here is Dr. Nathan Langer, the oncological hematologist. He is one of the best specialists I have ever seen. He takes the time to explain very complicated information very thoroughly and answers every question. He is an excellent listener and takes his time. Everyone in the office whom I've interacted with is kind and positive, and they work hard to make it a comforting experience, from the overall morale to positive messaging in the bathrooms. Convenient scheduling. Easy and competent working with insurance. Ample parking. Very safe and consistent Covid practices. Location is close to SSRM hospital and other medical practices.

His capacity to totally ignore the family after his patient consultations is impeccable. When I attempted to get ahold of him via the Nurse, she told me he refused to speak to me. He felt he needed to know my questions before he spoke to me, perhaps he needed to google them before hand? After he believes the patient is a lost cause, there is no reason to speak to the family for 3 minutes over the telephone for a few questions, he is much too important to do so. I especially enjoyed his carefree evaluation, and lack of attention to the results from the past few days. Afterall when a patient is dying there is no more profit to be gained, why bother? or Perhaps he didn't feel he had the expertise to answer simple questions. Nevertheless If I ever get diagnosed with Cancer I will surely choose Mr Langer if my goal is to have my family be ghosted in the end. I hope you are blessed with the same standard of care one day Sir, Very Lovingly. I will be sure to spread my glowing review far and wide. SIGNING OFF
