I gave one star only because there isn't an option for zero…read more Family Practice Associates was my primary care provider for the past six years--and prior to that, I was a patient there for another seven years. Unfortunately, my most recent experience ended that relationship. During a recent visit with a PA (whom I was seeing for the first time), he relied on lab results that were over 15 months old to conclude that I needed to be placed on a statin and switched to a different blood pressure medication. What was particularly concerning was the complete lack of a measured, evidence-based approach. A reasonable starting point would have been: "Your last labs showed elevated cholesterol--let's order updated labs to see where things stand today and then discuss next steps." Instead, the conclusion was immediate: I should begin a statin. For context, I scheduled the appointment simply to refill my blood pressure medication and request updated labs to evaluate several health markers I've been actively working to improve over the past year. Without asking how my current medication was working, the PA stated he wanted to switch me off Losartan--apparently unaware that another physician in the same practice had already adjusted my medication two years ago with excellent results and zero side effects. When I pointed out that the lab data was outdated and that I preferred to obtain current labs before making medication changes--particularly starting a statin--I was subsequently dismissed as a patient. Not for nonpayment, not for disruptive behavior, but for questioning a recommendation and asking for updated clinical data. Professionalism: none. Bedside manner: unacceptable. A special acknowledgment goes to the "Practice Manager" for finalizing what was already set in motion. The approach to patient care, clinical judgment, and basic professionalism here is deeply lacking. There are far better providers in the area worthy of a patient's trust and investment.

I wish zero stars was an option. WARNING TO ALL PARENTS, DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD TO THIS MONSTER!…read moreRude, short tempered, bad attitude, and disinterested in your child. I took my teenager to see this horrible woman as I am desperate for help, as he has been experiencing severe depression caused by his shyness and learning disabilities. This disgusting "doctor" did not look at my son, speak to my son, nor touch my son, despite it being his first well child visit/exam to establish care. The moment she learned I refused to give mim dangerous anti-depressants, nor vaccinate him, her demeanor became even worse, causing us all to feel very uncomfortable, as if she wanted nothing to do with us. She has TERRIBLE bedside manners and made us all feel stupid, as if we were nothing but a waste of her time. Had she cared and shown interest, she would have learned that I refuse to vaccinate my child because all of our problems began at a well baby visit 15 years ago when I ignorantly agreed to get my child either his DTAP or MMR vaccine (cant recall which it was) and from the moment we left the office my baby started shrieking. He shrieked and cried for over 3 days straight and we have since learned this is due to brain swelling caused by a bad reaction to the vaccine he received. So, as a mom with a vaccine injured child, it is my duty to shield him from any further exposure, but she did not care to listen nor help. I begged for genetic testing for the common gene mutations (MTHFR, COMT, etc...) that could cause lack of methylation and B Vitamin receptor issues that could cause sensitivity to vaccines, but she did not consider any of this and did not care to discuss, nor get the testing done that is required to try to diagnose these types of problems. I want my child to heal if at all possible, not just be given drugs or a temporary bandaid "fix". I want to get to the root of the problem, and assumed a good pediatrician would as well. Nope! Then to make matters worse, she said she was leaving the room to go get some paperwork, and then never returned, so we sat there and waited almost an hour thinking she would come back in! And outside the door I see an odd looking security guard staring at us, as if we were criminals!! Mind you. I had been crying at her sheer rudeness, but to call a security guard was way over the top and completely inappropriate! I had not raised my voice nor said or done anything that would necessitate a security guard to be called! These people treat you like a criminal if you do not sign up for all their drugs and vaccines, and they especially do not want you asking any questions or being educated about your own childs best interests. The nerve!! Spare yourselves the indignity of being ignored and humiliated by this "doctor". I cannot believe she is allowed to even see children, especially children with special needs. Shame on you Dr Vu!
