I really appreciated how he broke down difficult topics and used real life examples to help support and instill the knowledge. I was extremely nervous coming into this course and then onto the actual exam, but John was superb at preparing us for what to expect and what is needed from a studying standpoint to pass the exam. And he was even there rooting for us after the course and giving me the nudge I needed to get signed up for the exam :) The materials PMA provided to supplement the in-session training were also extremely helpful. I felt I had everything I needed and more for my studying. Overall, I would highly recommend PMA and would encourage anyone interested to go out of their way to make sure they get John Dokos as their instructor. I don't know that I would have understood some of the more challenging topics if I had a different instructor. Thank you John and PMA for the superb experience!

The structure of the course made a huge difference in how I approached studying, and John D did an excellent job breaking down complex concepts in a way that actually stuck. The biggest value for me was the practice exams and informal quizzes. They were key in helping me recognize patterns, build confidence, and feel fully prepared going into the exam. By the time test day came around, I felt ready. I also really appreciated the cohort experience. Being part of a group that was equally committed and supportive made the process more motivating and a lot less overwhelming. Highly recommend Project Management Academy--and especially John D--if you're serious about passing your PMP. -- Dawn G.

We started when they were in 7th grade, and at that time, their math skills were at a pre-algebra level while most of their friends were at a higher level. I decided they needed help, so we joined C2, and since then, their grades have improved. Their math teacher noticed that both of my daughters were performing above their current math level and moved them up a level. Yay! Long story short, they both achieved SAT scores of 1490 and 1520. They were accepted to both Purdue and UIUC. One is for engineering and the other for chemistry. This is significant considering many smart kids were reportedly rejected this year. Kudos to Colin, who was terrific in helping both of my daughters improve their reading/writing scores. C2 also assisted with college essays. They are flexible with rescheduling; sometimes, I felt bad for rescheduling almost every week, but high school kids are busy with extracurricular activities.

Test preparation for continuing education can often be both a time and money consuming endeavor…read more Within the city of Chicago, "professional" test prep courses for the GMAT come with a hefty price tag of almost $1500. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative with individualized attention, this class is perfect. The course runs eight weeks, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays at the College of Business and Management at Northeastern Illinois University. Professor Nauzer Balsara is especially helpful when it comes to math review. He provides you with a workbook that breaks down the concepts into simple steps that help you remember the necessary skills. He's also patient and takes pride in helping his students understand how to tackle some of the harder problems. The course also comes with several GMAT prep books, as well as a CD-ROM that includes practice tests. Why haven't you heard of this class? Because they do not have a marketing budget to promote it throughout the city, though that is a complete and utter shame. This prep course is well worth the bang for it's buck and I would highly recommend to anyone who plans on improving their GMAT score and attending business school in the future. Granted I was the oldest person there (everyone else was in high school or college)--my Instructor Christopher did a great job with flexing to give examples that would cover both academia and workplace situations. Although I read pretty quick to begin with (about 300-310 wpm), I did walk away with a lot of great tips and techniques and they emailed all the extra's the following day as promised. I didn't go into the class expecting it to be jam-packed with a bunch of scientific life changing information and found the class to be perfect to get you started in speed reading. For me, I don't think I need all of the background information to fill up extra class time--just tell me what needs to be done and let's get to it. This class would've been great had I had it in high school or college--but even so with all the technical, dry reading I have to do--the information I left with will definitely come in handy. This is the first time I've taken a speed reading class so don't have much else to compare it to--so for what it is--I would recommend it. Of course since not all instructors for anything are created equally---YMMV (Your mileage may vary)!

I ended up purchasing the unlimited package at the time and found his tutoring style / feedback extremely help. We walked through each type of problem together very diligently and made sure I understood what it was asking. This overall reduced my time based anxiety and left a lot more time for the other questions. I ended up earning an almost perfect score on the Q section, when my highest score before Adam was a 39. I would highly recommend Adam as a tutor and wish I would have found him sooner. I'll be entering my MBA program this fall and have to attribute my success to Adam and his company!
