I would highly highly recommend MyGuru for tutoring in preparation for any exam. I had the pleasure of working with Stefan to get ready for the INSEAD Assessment. He was super helpful and encouraging throughout. Stefan made himself available early morning and on the weekends for tutoring sessions. He always provided me with detailed examples and multiple ways of solving each problem on my own. If you are looking for a great tutoring experience, look no further than myguru and Stefan is your guy. read more

I highly recommend Stefan Maisnier for MBA admissions guidance. When our son decided to pursue his MBA on a tight timeline, Stefan quickly created a clear, strategic plan. He objectively evaluated our son's strengths and weaknesses, identified gaps--especially in quantitative skills--and worked closely with him to address those areas. Stefan's deep knowledge of admissions and test prep ensured our son targeted schools that fit his profile and goals, and he provided invaluable support throughout the process. Stefan's professionalism and expertise made a real difference for our family. My wife and I would recommend him to anyone seeking high-level, personalized admissions guidance and GMAT prep. read more

I had a poor experience with MyGuru for LSAT tutoring and law school admissions prep. For 6 weeks, I met with a tutor twice a week for 90 minutes. I would do practice test sections assigned to me and we would review them in our sessions. Because I was planning on applying for the Fall of '25, I wanted to get a 10 point LSAT bump from my original diagnostic score in a matter of 10 weeks. I did not put enough time in studying to get such a large increase, but nor I find the tutoring particularly helpful. In addition, I paid an exorbitant sum for law school admissions counseling. When the tutoring wasn't going in the direction I had been hoping, I cancelled the tutoring and the admissions counseling, deciding to wait for the next admissions cycle to apply. MyGuru would only refund me 50% of their admissions counseling fee, despite meeting with me only once about admissions. When I asked them for a refund based on the work they put in, they said: if they calculated that, it would be likely be a greater cost. I accepted the 50% refund and asked them for a deliverable of the work they had done. They gave me an excel document in which they took notes from our admissions meeting and had collected admission information from law school websites. There was nothing new or helpful about this information, and I suspect it took him less than an hour to copy and paste it from the law school admissions websites. Yet, MyGuru was comfortable charging me thousands of dollars for it. read more

I worked with Stefan on test prep; he was outstanding. The 1.5hr sessions FLEW BY! Stefan is so fun and passionate about test taking strategies. He is so knowledgeable and is someone I wish I would have found earlier in my application journey. I am so grateful for his support! I loved having the whiteboard and he always sends the PDF of the notes that you cover in class. Stefan makes everything super easy to understand and very accessible. If you don't understand it, he will try to flip the concept on its head and reteach it to you. He is super patient! This has been my favorite test prep experience. I have tried it all - Manhattan Prep and other test prep companies. I only wish I found him sooner. read more

Stefan is a incredible instructor. He has been a pleasure to work with throughout a overall pretty stressful application process for my EMBA. I am a pretty poor student but Stefan had the patience and comedic flare to make our 2 hour sessions productive and fun. Thanks for what you do read more

Stefan is a brilliant tutor. I had less than 2 weeks to give it my best for my EA. His tips and guidance through out those 2 weeks were so valuable for the test day. He was very kind and accommodating in providing times for tutoring that worked in my personal/professional life. Stefan is just the person you want to work with when your under peak pressure to crack any standardized test. I highly recommend Stefan for any standardized tests you want to take and get that dream score. read more

It's really a great resource to help you prepare for testing. I was prepping for the GRE, and did not know what would be the best way to start. I did switch tutors, since the initial meeting didn't provide the best results for me, but I ended working with Stefan. He's really great at breaking down the strategies and tips to help you solve questions faster and more accurately. There will be questions that you won't know or will take too long to complete in time, but if you can get your options down to 2 options. I'll take a 50/50 chance of getting it right over 1 in 5. The in person and online options are really great for working professionals and their schedules. read more

My MyGuru tutor, Tara, was very helpful while I was preparing for the GMAT. He was very knowledgeable and easily able to translate concepts into a form that I found understandable. Tara was always on time and responsive. Mark was also very helpful and responsive when I had an issue with processing a transaction. He seems to really care about what is going on. read more

UPDATE: Almost finished with my first semester of law school. Man that was rough.. (rougher than LSAT study in terms of content overload but not as rough as the LSAT in terms of analysis & logical reasoning.) Bottom line- a high LSAT score will save you a lot in law school. It is also great preparation for the amount of work you will be putting in a law school course. 10/10 recommend a study course, especially MYGURU (law school was all online this semester either way so zoom calls should interfere with the process!) read more

Recently used MyGuru for LSAT prep. As a working professional, the online tutoring aspect worked really well with my schedule. Stefan was very flexible with scheduling sessions around my schedule, and the online tool was very easy to use. Stefan helped me hone in on the areas of the test that were holding me back from achieving a top score. With Stefan's help, I was able to target my problem areas and follow a practice routine that enabled me to eventually increase my score 8 points to 170+! Thanks Stefan and MyGuru! read more

I had a really great experience with MyGuru! I requested a tutor mostly to improve my score in quantitative reasoning after being out of school for a few years. Dylan was extremely helpful and clearly very familiar with the GRE tricks common in all sections of the test. He was very knowledgeable and able to teach the material in a way that made sense to me. He also taught me many shortcuts that have helped improve the average time I am spending on each problem, which has been immensely helpful. Morgan was also very helpful in setting me up with a tutor quickly and following up on any feedback or concerns I had throughout my sessions with Dylan. Thanks MyGuru! read more

Working full-time & taking classes is not a piece of cake, and after having to miss a few classes due to work, I needed some help catching up. Me being myself ("why put off until tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow?"), I needed that help ASAP. With the words of my high school counselor ringing in my head "Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part", I reached out to a few tutors/tutoring agencies. Fortunately for me, Mark, the owner of MyGuru, did not share my counselor's philosophy--he got back to me very quickly & sent out an "urgent" message to a number of the tutors on hand. I realized how much more efficient this was than me emailing the handful of random tutors I had found through my school, online, referrals, etc. While at first it was looking bleak to find someone with the appropriate background & availability (which was, basically, immediately/less than 24 hours) he emailed additional tutors he had on staff and was able to find someone who met my subject material and timing needs. The tutor he set me up with, Tracy, worked out really well. I not only understood the material better following her help, but possibly more importantly, I felt much more confident in the material & extrapolating it/building off that knowledge. I found the pricing very fair--they charge you a specific fee based on an hourly rate, & if you go over you pay more, if you go under you pay less. I was skeptical of that last part, but sure enough less time was required than anticipated and I was credited, no issue/reminder needed. I wouldn't hesitate to use MyGuru and work with Mark, Tracy, or any of their tutors again, and I highly recommend them. read more

I was signed up to take a Kaplan course for GMAT prep and was talking to a co-worker about it when they told me their story. They took one of the same Kaplan courses I was signed up to take and didn't get their desired GMAT score. In their second attempt, they signed up for private tutoring with John Easter, one of MyGuru's tutors, and their GMAT score improved by over 100 points. After hearing this story, I called to cancel my Kaplan class & signed up with MyGuru, with a special request to work with John. During my studies, I decided that I wanted to take the GRE instead of the GMAT. I explained this to my tutor John and to Mark at MyGuru and the change was so simple. John is not only skilled in GMAT prep but GRE prep as well. So the only thing that would need to change were the materials. If you're looking for the best resources for test prep I highly recommend MyGuru. I have no complaints! read more

I had a great experience with My Guru's GRE test prep and highly recommend! After taking a practice GRE on my own, it was obvious that I needed to seriously improve my quantitative skills if I ever hoped to get into a competitive grad program. After reading not so great things about other GRE test prep providers on Yelp, My Guru quickly became my number one choice for test prep. i liked that My Guru tailored tutoring to fit my needs. I pre-tested strongly in verbal reasoning, and didn't need to focus too much on this area, but other test-prep providers would have made me sit through (and pay for!) tutoring in both verbal and quantitative sections even though my clear weakness was in one subject. Being able to focus on making gains specifically on the math section proved invaluable to me. My Guru's rates are reasonable compared to others, and I was paired up with an excellent tutor, Mike Z. Mike was a breeze to work with and never made me feel judged or silly when I struggled. Math has always been a trouble subject for me, so to say that I had a lot of anxiety about facing the subject head on would be an understatement. Through my tutoring sessions with Mike I was able to re-learn algebra and geometry, face my fear of math, and learn test- anxiety coping skills to help me stay focused while taking the GRE. As a result, I was able to bring up my quantitative reasoning score 5 points (hooray!) and I owe it all to Mike's tutoring skills! In the end, My Guru was worth every penny spent! I didn't just walk away with a higher GRE score, but also with more confidence in my overall math skills. Mike was a phenomenal tutor and I highly recommend him for test-prep and general math tutoring. read more

I just took the GMAT this morning and received a fabulous score! A big thank you goes out to Jim for helping me overcome specific weaknesses. I really appreciate your patience and guidance during our tutoring sessions. You also helped improve my mental math skills and taught me how to think outside of the box on complex questions. Thank you! The GMAT books that John recommended were also a huge help. I think every student trying to score about a 700 should purchase these books. The GMAT Club questions were also good, but I found they were almost too hard. The actual test was not nearly as difficult as the GMAT Club quant questions were. I also found that number properties were a bigger portion of the test than I originally anticipated. I would suggest students focus on this and not only concentrate on the super tricky word problems. read more

I am in an accelerated MBA program that did a horrible job explaining accounting (just not enough time and way way too much material but great instructor). For the final, we had to do a very detailed dissection of a very meaty annual report. I thought I was going to die cuase I was not prepared. MyGuru came to the rescue at the 11th hour. I would not have passed the class without the help of MyGuru. THEY ROCK!! Little expensive for higher level courses but worth every penny. Almost Drowned! read more

I decided to go back to school to obtain my bachelor's degree for accounting. Since I know myself all too well, I decided to attend University of Phoenix online. Although I enjoy going to school online, in an accelerated program, with limited ways to ask questions, Accounting can be a tough subject to learn. That's where MyGuru helped me. I contacted Mark and team and told them what I needed. Within an hour or two Mark had responded with a member of his team who could tutor me in Accounting. Minaz was wonderful and helped me really understand the basics of accounting. She was patient, had answers for every question I had, and also understood my way of thinking and helped me turn it around. I would recommend MyGuru for any educational need. Mark has really excellent team members, the price is reasonable, and they got back to me right away. read more

I worked with John Easter to prepare for the GMAT. We spent three months meeting on a weekly basis for 2 hour long private tutoring sessions. He designed a preparation strategy, taught me the methods and strategies for the test, and reviewed diagnostic exams with me. I came into the process with a goal of scoring at least a 700. My first practice test score was a 650, and my score on the exam was a 750. I only sat for the exam once, and relieved to not have to worry about it again. Working with John was invaluable. The area in which I needed the most improvement was the quantitative section, and he clearly explained the concepts and applications of them for the GMAT. I would recommend working with John for anybody who wants to achieve their potential on the GMAT. His personalized study plan ensured that I was spending my time studying as efficiently as possible, which is important because of how much I travel for work. read more

I had a remarkably effective and enjoyable tutoring, actually life, experience with Stefan Maisnier, Director of Online Tutoring, MyGuru. Because I am applying to business Ph.D. programs, I needed to score well on the GRE. In particular, I had concerns about getting up to speed on the quantitative elements of the exam since it had been decades since I took a math course. In the end, Stefan seemed to naturally identify how to communicate concepts that were tricky for me to process at first while also helping me to improve my performance on the verbal and writing aspects of the exam, where I was always more comfortable. I learned so much from him in such an enjoyable way, I have moments where I miss our sessions. I highly recommend Stefan to anyone interested in performing better than they think they can on a standardized exam. Trust the process! read more

MyGuru is a fantastic resource and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Stefan. He is an incredible instructor! Stefan helped me immensely by targeting the areas of the test where I needed improvement. Stefan assigned me practice problems and practice tests, which were extremely beneficial for my studying. He explained everything super clearly and provided strategies that I can use not only for the GRE, but for any test. More than that, Stefan's positivity and dedication motivated me and made me excited to learn! With Stefan's help, I was able to reach my target score on the GRE, and, for that, I will always be grateful. I cannot recommend MyGuru enough. read more

MyGuru is an excellent test prep service. I contacted Mark, desperately in need of a tutor and was paired with John Easter. John and I met twice a week over the course of a month and a half in order to prepare me for the GRE Quantitative Reasoning section. John was absolutely wonderful. I am terrible at math and was very discouraged in my ability to get an acceptable score on the GRE Quant section. I took a practice test on my own prior to getting in touch with MyGuru and scored in the bottom 3rd percentile. I was at a point where I thought I wouldn't be able to go to graduate school and obtain my dream job. I sent a very desperate message to MyGuru, stating my situation and Mark paired me with a tutor immediately and provided encouragement. When I met with John, he conducted an initial assessment of my math skills and created an ordered study plan for which areas to target. He recommended study materials that provided approachable explanations of the concepts and I was able to develop a much better grasp on my math skills. John was consistently supportive and explained the problems to me in ways that I could understand very clearly. He was very patient with me as it took me a while to make progress. I am writing this review now, a few days after receiving an acceptance letter from an amazing graduate program I will be attending next fall. As of my score, thanks to John, I went from BOTTOM 3rd percentile to 52nd percentile. I am grateful to MyGuru for providing such excellent services. read more

I researched many test prep services for my daughter's ACT/SAT preparations before deciding on MyGuru. All the others wanted to sell me waaay more (thousands of dollars) hours of instruction than my daughter felt she needed. We tried MyGuru and the online tutoring option was perfect in that it fit well into my daughter's crazy schedule. Stefan's predictions on the scores he thought were achievable for my daughter became a reality quite soon in the process and she ended up getting into the college of her dreams. I loved MyGuru because there's no "hard sell". They focus on the areas you need to improve and are very realistic about expectations. read more

This was a great service that got me ready for the GRE. Prior to signing up I did not have a good direction and was not utilizing time wisely when studying for the GRE. Several people I talked to had used Kaplan Test Prep and were not happy with their results. Luckily I came across MyGuru which was less expensive and had good reviews on Yelp. I worked with Mike who laid out a plan of how to prepare for it within 7 weeks. He went over all of the concepts, strategies to score better in my weak areas, and gave me homework assignments. For questions that I could not answer he showed me strategies to eliminate answers to give me a better chance to make an educated guess. Beyond doing all of that he had me take practice tests to see where my scores where. Each improved throughout the 7 weeks. When it came time to take the actual test I felt well prepared and scored where I wanted to be for my applications. read more

I am the Director of Academic Assistance at a small college in Chicago. A student was having problems with our math course and no tutor could seem to help her. A friend suggested I contact MyGuru and they found an amazing tutor, Lindsey, for my student. The student is now passing her course and will receive her degree. Most important for the student and me was the accommodation to the situation - MyGuru worked to find a tutor over a holiday weekend and tutoring began immediately. The communication between the student, the tutor, the student's family, and me has been unbelievable. Everyone was kept in the loop. Scheduling is flexible and costs are quite reasonable. I would recommend MyGuru to all students and parents. read more

I cannot praise My Guru enough. I used one of the My Guru tutors to help my daughter prepare for the ACT and SAT tests. Mark was able to set her up with online Skype tutoring. She liked her tutor immediately. He listened to her needs and concerns and focused on her weak areas the most. He was knowledgable, extremely competent and friendly. He spent a good amount of time on test taking strategy which was very helpful, especially for managing time during the tests. After 2-3 months of working through practice tests together she went into both the ACT and SAT with confidence. She exceeded all expectations on both tests. I credit My Guru for her test success. I will definitely use My Guru again. Money well spent. Contact Mark before spending money at a 'big name' tutoring center. You will not be disappointed. read more

I've been looking around for affordable tutoring in areas where my son needs help in & the school can't provide for free. With 1 kid in college already & on a limited budget, I found MyGuru. Tanner has been great & very patient w/ my son who tends to not know what to say & can be undecisive. Even though I only had Tanner for just a few sessions, my son enjoyed his help & right away felt comfortable figuring out together what they can do to prep for the PSAT. Tutoring companies are a dime a dozen now, but there can only be one "best"...and that would be MyGuru, LLC! They have the BEST tutors, which is what makes them particularly special. Having been to almost every other tutoring center in my town (C2, Kumon, Club Z, Oxford, Eye Level, etc) only MyGuru offered the professionalism and personalized 1-on-1 tutoring that I truly needed. My most recent experience was by far the most valuable. I had to learn how to become a biostatistician in no time. The owner, Mark, set me up with an incredible tutor who is about to earn his PhD in Biostats and who seamlessly tutored me online in SPSS (the software I had to learn) and how to use it for all my necessary applications. I'm thrilled to say that thanks to that, my abstract was accepted by ISHLT (clinical conference) and my study submitted to the top journal in the field (pending acceptance). This would never have been possible, especially in that shortened timetable, had it not been for MyGuru and their incredible tutors. I can't recommend them highly enough. What's more important than education? If you're going to go for quality in any area of life, this would be an important one that will pay dividends for you investment! Thanks MyGuru!!! read more

I recently used MyGuru for GRE prep, focusing on Quant, and I can only recommend them with enthusiasm. I ended up improving significantly on the test and I fully credit Dylan for providing such effective one-on-one help. I would highly recommend Margo as a tutor for anyone looking to dramatically improve their overall score on the GMAT. I was dejected after scoring a 640 on my GMAT in July, so I turned to MyGuru for a solution after receiving a referral from a friend. Her self-written course guides, GMAT study plan, and online quizzes were very impressive and useful - an essential part of my preparation. She was an excellent tutor with a unique method - and was especially strong in teaching me to apply more shortcuts and organization in GMAT math problems. With Margo's support, I managed to score a 750 on my second attempt at the GMAT - a 110pt improvement in 2 short months. I had a wonderful experience through MyGuru using Stefan for my LSAT tutoring. As a recent graduate student, studying for exams had never been something that was difficult for me until the LSAT. I took the LSAT without accurately preparing, and needless to say did not score well. After working with Stefan for approx. 3 months he broke down the exam in a way that was easy to understand, and helped me boost my score well over 10 points. He is a wonderful teacher, and knows how to TEACHE the LSAT, in a way that is convenient to every student, because lets face it there is no way that we all learn the same. If you are really committed to law school, why waste your time with a prep class when you should be investing that one on one time with yourself, as this is a lifetime investment in your future. Stefan knows how to help you, work with your schedule (even if that meant 7 AM sessions during the week), was always able to reschedule when needed, and taught me how to study properly. I recommend my guru as well as Stefan to anyone who needs help with the LSAT, you will not regret it at all. read more
