I took the Blueprint class in October for the December 2013 LSAT. I did extensive research before…read moreselecting Blueprint as the company to help for my LSAT Preparation. Prior to this class I had never opened a LSAT Prep book or even seen what type of questions would be on the LSAT. I was told by others that it is unlike any standardized test I had ever taken. I wanted to start on a clean slate. From the research that I had done, most people who selected Blueprint increased their score by an average of 11 points. The instructors bio on the Blueprint website, which you should check out by the way, also helped in humanizing them and injecting a sense of humor to such a challenging task. Patrick was our instructor for Blueprint Chicago and let me tell you, he is extremely intelligent and patient. Unlike most geniuses who make you feel inferior due to their high acumen and intellect, Patrick was the complete opposite. We learned a lot in this class and had fun doing it. Patrick would come early to answer any questions or stay late just to be sure you really got it. You have to do your part and actually prepare and study outside of class as well, but it was nice knowing that if we have any questions about the homework he would be able to break it down so we could understand where we may have missed something. I actually enjoy Logic Games now, I know it sounds strange but that's how amazing Patrick was in breaking it down and making it enjoyable. I would highly recommend taking the course with Patrick and I am glad he was our instructor because he really was super nice, funny, and patient. I was able to increase my score by more than the 11 point average and I know for a fact that it would not have been possible without Patrick and the Blueprint team. Patrick is an excellent teacher and you will not regret your decision.

It was a solid investment of both my money and, more importantly, my time and efforts. Patrick is a wonderful teacher, mentor, and friend. He genuinely cares about each of his students; he paid attention to our individual needs and concerns in a way that didn't at all take away from the entire group's classroom experience. While very intelligent, Patrick is also extremely patient and down to earth, which really adds to the comfort of the learning environment. Patrick explains the mysterious complexities of LSAT logic in a way that is simple to understand, and he goes out of his way to ensure that everyone has a solid grasp on the material. He's easily accessible by email and phone and always willing to help; nearly every class meeting, Patrick arrived a few minutes early and stayed at least a a few minutes late to answer any questions that hadn't been asked during class. I admittedly didn't always do all of the assigned homework, so I strongly advise that you do it to make sure you're taking full advantage of the class. Try to make it to every lesson, as it's a lot more fun to learn the material with Patrick than it is to study any missed lessons on your own. Also, be sure to check out all the available resources online - the sample problem sets and additional practice tests were tremendously helpful, so I'd recommend doing as many of those as possible. And don't worry about the 4-hour class length. Thanks to Patrick, class goes by a lot more quickly, painlessly, and enjoyably than you'd think.

I took the Excel Intermediate Class and am planning to take the advanced class. My instructor went…read moreslow enough for all of us to stay with her, but not too slow where it dragged. She also went fast enough so that we stayed on our toes, but she created an environment where we didn't feel too shy about asking questions and stopping her for stuff. We got breaks in between and I'm planning to take the Advanced class in the new year. Good pace and I feel more comfortable with some of the functions I've been doing on Excel at work. A Few Tips I'd leave with those taking this class: 1) There are no numbers or labels or signs on any of the doors inside this company. It's like a maze, so you need to know where you're going, and remember it. It isn't too hard, but if you're directionally challenged, find place markers or a friend who isn't. 2) Water sources are only in the Kitchen area. So, bring your own water bottle. They only allow covered liquids in the classroom. 3) There is a cafe on the 2nd floor that is worth checking out. I hear it's pretty tasty and prices didn't look too bad. I didn't try it this time, but will definitely try it when i go back. There are only a few places that are super close by.... and with traffic on 59, eating out might not be worth the risk. 4) The receptionist will tell you to hang your coat in the closet near the front because the space between the computers is small. I didn't want to - and when I got to the classroom, there was enough room for my coat to hang over my chair, and for me to tuck my purse underneath the desk. Its not super roomy, but you don't have to say goodbye to your coat and personal belongings if you don't want to. Just don't bring a suitecase.

As I peruse job postings, in search of a new job, I realize how many computer programs I don't…read moreknow. These days, you need to know more than Microsoft Word to get by. Though I use a layout program at work, it is outdated and not the one currently used in many companies. I decided to take a class to learn what I needed to know. My first search was at local community colleges, but those courses can be pricey and take 8 weeks to complete. I don't have that kind of time. Luckily I found Computer Training Source and what a good find that was. I went on their website, clicked the program that I needed (Adobe InDesign), and chose the level I wanted. They show you the class schedule for each course. I can't take a class during the day, and the Saturday course seemed expensive. Luckily, they had a special, which was $149 for 3 hours on Tuesday and Thursday in the evening. That worked perfectly with my schedule and the price was good, so I signed up. You get an e-mail saying to arrive 15 minutes before class starts but really, you don't have to. The day before my class, I received an e-mail informing me that the doors outside of the classroom are locked in the evening so if we can't get in, we should call the instructor. I did have to do that for both classes, but he was right down the hall so it wasn't a big deal. There were only about 8 people in my class. There are enough computers for everyone, and even some Macs if you requested one when signing up for the class. Three hours is a long class, especially after a day of work, but Ed, the instructor, was great. He talked really fast, but will stop if you have a question and explain something if you didn't get it the first time. The class was really easy to follow, as he showed us how to do everything on the projector screen. By the second and final class, we designed a page of a newsletter. He gave us a bunch of tips on how to simplify things that he had learned through practice and went more in depth than the book did. Though I learned the basic skills needed for this program, I'm going to take the Intermediate class just to get more in depth knowledge, as I would probably be using this program in future jobs. Also, if you feel you need a refresher on a course, you can take it again for free within six months of the first time you took it. I'm so glad I found CTS. It has been so helpful and I've recommended it to several people who realized they should also take come classes in other software.

She mentioned that 2 of her coworkers had children that attended A Plus Master tutoring sessions at this location and they were able to improve their report card by 2 letter grades. I also decided to bring my 8 year old daughter (who currently attends A Plus Master Tutoring) because she needs to improve her reading comprehension and math skills. Initially I sat in a on a few tutoring sessions (as any concerned paying parent would lol) and I must say that Ms Denise and her A Plus Master Tutoring staff are very focused, knowledgeable, organized and intent on helping their students improve in their academics. They even offer tutoring courses for adults as well. Upon my observation, they conducted a few national skills tests (math, spelling, reading & comprehension) which indicates the students areas of strengths and weaknesses. Once the skills test is evaluated, they tailor a program for each individual student to improve in all areas noted. I also like their payment plans and cancellation policies. My daughter is 8 and she's only attended two (2 hour) sessions and I'm picking up subtle improvements while helping her with homework. I'm happy with my current results and I expect to see a tremendous improvement upon completion of the program ...

Having had my 4 kids in this school, I am changing my review. I'm not giving 5 starts because it's…read morenot perfect, BUT this school does not get the props it deserves. The principal is the best one to have happened to the school since my experience began. You can see the changes and feel them too. Parts of the school was updated to secure a safer entry and new office which now has a better function and looks nicer. The teachers are AMAZING. That's all I can say about that and as long as you know what amazing means we're good. Don't get distracted like I did by school numbers and ratings. If you are involved and engaged in your child's learning from the time they are born you will set them up to excel at this school.

I have been with Eyelevel for a few months now and can see progress in some students. However, some…read morestudents will not benefit from this and that is all on the student. I do believe that this place is a good learning center for students who are kind of behind in their Math or English and also for those who just want to get a few steps ahead in school. The only thing I would say is that they might be a bit expensive. Management is not the best, and some teachers are not either. Overall, the concept is good.
