When we arrived at European wax we were greeted promptly and told our aesthetician would be with us shortly. We waited less than 90 seconds and saw Nicole's happy and attentive presence before us welcoming my husband back to her waxing room. I waited no longer than 18 minutes before they came back and then I went in for my waxing. I got undressed and the hair removal began. Let me tell you, typically waxing hurts, but not this place. Nicole is really great at explaining everything she is doing. All in the span of 60 minutes Nicole efficiently and effectively waxed my: eyebrows, Brazilian (with butt strip), full legs and half my arms. Nicole suggested waxing my nostrils, I said maybe next time. Nicole also informed me of the products that would help with ingrown hairs and different packages that would work for me. I've been coming to EWC for 15+ years and since new ownership of the Westport center, it's increasingly become worse at customer service. I had an issue last Friday where part of my appointment was given to another customer. I had an appointment with my waxer from 5 weeks prior. She wasn't in for that appointment so I rescheduled to the following week. When I arrived, front desk said she wasn't in and I'd have to use another waxer. I grudgingly agreed and then I saw my waxer. So, basically, the front desk lied to me. They agreed that I could see my waxer but only for 3 of my services, not the fourth. I had to see a different waxer for that. They put me in with someone who as only been waxing for a month and left more hair than she removed. I didn't notice until I was home as the light in there is terrible. I have left 4 messages for the manager and have received NO response. When I called again today they said, she'd get back to me in the next week! It's already been a week. The customer service there is awful. Update to my review. The manager, Tiffany called me today and was extremely professional and helpful. Hopefully she can impart some of that good customer service to the front staff and they can feel better empowered to make decisions that are at their customer's best interest. Thank you Tiffany.

The owner's attitude is consistently rude, and I've been made to feel like the way I live or maintain my lashes creates "extra work" for them. (I barely wear makeup and I don't wear eye makeup). She was washing my face, rinsing out the washcloth a bowl of dirty water that she had removed the scrub from. She would leave the room for 5 mins at a time and in the salon, the owner (?) was walking around talking on speakerphone... the least relaxing environment I have ever been in. I paid to have a face mask put on, it would've been a heck of a lot cheaper if I did it at my house. Finally, I went to check out and there was a miscellaneous $10 charge. I was prescribed MRSA pills and cream, the rash is gone and my skin is 10 years younger and not gross and itchy from ivermectin - I had staph. Doctor failed to recognize staph.

I could understand having $100 admin fee for the aesthetic part of the business but when it comes to seeing a medical doctor for a regular annual skin check that is fully covered by insurance, there are just so many levels of cringe tied into this. Again, if the fee could be applied to the bill, I get it, but the fact that it is a nonrefundable fee that is never applied to any amount that you owe, makes no sense. They canceled my appointment an hour before I was due in the office because I wouldn't pay the fee. They allowed me to schedule the appointment even though I refuse to pay the fee, but didn't honor it on the day I was going in. It shows that the fee had nothing to do with a no-show concern since I was on my way. It made no sense. I definitely will not be doing business again with Westport dermatology.
